We spent 7 weeks at Capponi this summer. It was close to everything yet slightly away from the most touristy sections and on a very quiet street. Situated on the top floor with tons of natural light, it's one section of a formerly larger apartment, with the other section being a separate rental that shares a common entry and outer front door to the stairwell. Both units have their own locking interior front door and separate living space, although they share the terrace (with a light divider for some privacy). Our biggest critique is that because the windows are positioned higher on the walls than usual, you can’t sit and see out the window in any of the rooms. But that’s minor, and affected us more only because we were here for so long. The terrace is delightful and offers gorgeous views. We were there for the San Giovanni holiday on June 24 - and we could see the fireworks from the terrace! If you are visiting Florence in summer, keep in mind that it is very hot and humid, and this unit gets the full brunt of sun all day. We made sure the shutters were closed when the sun was on that side of the place, which helped a lot during the day, and the AC and a fan helped to keep us cool at night. Having an elevator was also a significant plus.Matias was so easy to work with the entire time, always very responsive. He came to our rescue with a portable router when the internet was down and also provided a new fan when the old one wasn't working.
