Een hele leuke plek, echt wel bijzonder om daar even te verblijven. De ontvangst was heel vriendelijk en het huis is eigenlijk ook 'vriendelijk'. We voelden ons er wel thuis. Goede voorzieningen ook. Kasteel Wissekerke is prachtig (zeker ook bezoeken) en vanuit Bazel-Kruibeke zijn er veel leuke plekken om naar toe te gaan.

Heerlijke woning met luxe inrichting. Enige nadeel, als je er niet tegen kunt, is het rijden van auto's vlak langs de woning over kasseien en het slaan van de kerkklo, elk kwartier. Verder prima verzorgd en mooie uitvalsbasis voor uitstapjes in de omgeving

Idyllisch

Eine rundum schöne Wohnung mit toller Terasse und Rasenfläche. Auch innen sehr gemütlich, wenn das Wetter mal nicht so mitspielt. Heizung funktioniert auch prima. Die Küchenausstattung ist sehr umfangreich, seit unserem Besuch gibt es auch ein weiteres Küchenmesser (haben wir dort vergessen ;-). Sehr netter Vermieter und absolut problemlose Abwicklung. Nach Antwerpen kommt man prima mit dem dewaterbus.be entweder von Hemiksen (die Fähre rüber auf die andere Seite ist kostenlos) oder von Kruibeke auf der gleichen Uferseite, da gibt es auch einen kostenlosen Parkplatz fürs Auto. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

A charming apartment in a lovely area

This cozy apartment is charming, light and filled with interesting artwork and decorative items. The location is terrific – the splendid Wissekerke Castle is only about five minutes away on foot and the grounds surrounding it are lovely. The bedroom is extremely comfortable and looks out over the church in the adjoining square. One note of warning: the stairs to the bedroom are extremely narrow and steep, so this isn’t a good place for anyone with mobility issues. It’s easy and fun to get into Antwerp on the water bus (DeWaterbus). If you go, we particularly recommend the Plantin-Moretus Museum, which is a real jewel. Dmitri was a welcoming host and gave us lots of good advice. All in all, a lovely place to stay.

Nicht so wie erwartet

Leider hat uns die Unterkunft nicht gefallen. Es lagen überall Teppiche rum und es roch nach Keller. Die Sauberkeit war auch nicht gut. Wir haben uns überhaupt nicht wohl gefühlt. Jede Stunde ging die Kirchglocke an und wir konnten nicht gut schlafen. Mit Kindern würde ich die Unterkunft überhaupt nicht empfehlen, weil die Treppe sehr steil ist.

Prettig onthaal in een zeer bijzondere ambiance en volledig ingericht met retro meubelen. Een geweldige omgeving met veel mogelijkheden om te fietsen en te wandelen. Een mooiere plek is niet zo snel te vinden. Midden in de natuur en dichtbij het kasteel Wissekerke. We hebben genoten van ons verblijf en er zijn zeker verbeteringen nodig, zoals bij de trapopgang. Wie het beter kan treffen in zo'n monumentaalpand mag het zeggen!

Beautiful and charming house

We stayed at this property for four nights in March 2023. This well appointed rental is a former gatehouse and is located on the beautiful grounds of the castle in Bazel. It has a fenced yard which was perfect for my teens to kick around a soccer ball. The views out of each window were gorgeous- the upper bedroom has a view towards the castle in the back and the church square in the front. There is a large full bathroom with shower on the upper level and a 2-piece bathroom off the kitchen on the lower level. My tall teenaged sons slept on the pull-out couch in the living room on the main floor and were comfortable. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable as well. The house is beautifully decorated and very cosy. The view out the kitchen window is gorgeous and provides views towards the fenced garden and castle. The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge/freezer, microwave, range top and dishwasher. Everything worked perfectly and the entire house was very clean. The stairs to the upper level bedroom and bathroom are quite steep but are equipped with a hand railing and sufficient lighting and were no problem for us at all but renters with mobility issues should be aware of the steepness of the stairs. There was ample hot water for showers and good water pressure. There are lovely paths through the castle grounds and a wetland area with walking paths. The water taxi to Antwerp can be accessed by walking these paths towards the river. It is a 20 minute walk to the water taxi. The host, Dimitri, is timely in his response to inquiries and provided a lot of pamphlets and maps for the area. He is also fluent in English and a few other languages. At the time of our stay in March 2023, there was a considerable amount of construction vehicle traffic through the gateway to the castle during the day due to the renovations of the castle and laneway. This construction traffic should subside in the coming weeks because the castle will be opening to tourists later this month. There are also a lot of church bells that ring during the early morning hours but it adds to the ambiance and we found that we got used to them by the second night. We sat outside one evening and enjoyed the tranquility of the garden. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property.

We hebben een heerlijke week gehad in de poortwoning. Een sfeervolle woning. In het dorp zijn voldoende heerlijke restaurants te vinden. Op loopafstand een mooi wandel gebied. De waterbus richting Antwerpen op 10 minuten rijden. Het kasteel en tuin zijn momenteel in restauratie. We komen vast nog eens terug als deze werkzaamheden gereed zijn.

Wohnen am Wasserschloß

Insgesamt haben wir hier in einer wunderschönen, gemütlichen Ferienwohnung mit sehr viele Platz, bester Ausstattung und großem Garten eine herrliche Woche verbracht. Die Bauarbeiten auf dem Schloss geben allerdings Abzüge in der B-Note, weil leider morgens ab 6:00 Uhr relativ viel Fahrzeuge durch die Einfahrt, neben der wir direkt wohnten, kamen und beim Überfahren einer großen Stahlplatte, die in der Einfahrt lag, jedesmal einen Höllenlärm verursacht haben.

Erg leuk huisje en mooie zonnige tuin. In 10 minuten rijden ben je bij de waterbus en die brengt je in 20 minuten naar het centrum van Antwerpen. Bakker en supermarkt om de hoek. Heerlijke week gehad!
