Stunning Surrey Hills Country House w/hot tub (seasonal). Sleeps up to 11.

A total renovation in 2021 has created a light-filled, gracious home with many designer touches and stunning views. The whole rear of the house features floor to ceiling windows in all rooms, overlooking a mature English garden of approximately ½ an acre in a wooded valley, setting the perfect backdrop for a relaxing countryside gathering of friends and family. Family-friendly and fully equipped with everything you need to make it your home away from home.

We also welcome companies looking to accommodate employees working in the area or host business meetings. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Our rear garden which has been devoted to outdoor fun for all ages – with lots of areas to eat, drink and play. For kids, we have a badminton net, croquet, portable football nets and all the gear needed to play with. All available for your use and lots of fun for all ages! The garden is very private, very interesting and beautifully cared for.

There is a travel cot, portable bed rail and highchair available for little ones. Please advise in advance if these are required.

Over 2 floors, with approx. 3000 square feet, you can spread out over 4 bedrooms, 3 reception rooms (one of which is in the primary suite), 3 bathrooms, huge open plan kitchen, dining and living room with 10-foot long quartz island and 2 sets of bifold doors that open onto a 2-level deck with propane BBQ – great for entertaining outdoors.

The front door leads into a gracious entrance hall with pool table, leading to all the ground floor areas and stairs up. There is also a side entrance which leads into the boot/utility room where you will find the washer, dryer, boiler, etc.

The open plan kitchen is really the heart of this house – with a 10’ underlit quartz island that seats 8 and is perfect for entertaining. The kitchen has a large stainless steel American-style fridge freezer with icemaker, 5 burner electric range with large electric oven, as well as an oil-fired gas Aga and 2 integrated dishwashers. There are all the usual appliances including Nespresso coffee maker, kettle, 4-slice toaster, microwave, blender, mixer, breadmaker, etc. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the dishes, crockery, utensils and serving ware you need for making and enjoying meals at home together. It also has a triple bifold doors leading out the terrace deck, which overlooks the pond fountain and gardens below.

The dining table has seating for 10-12, and features an integrated leaf.

The main reception room features a beautiful Mornington & Weston baby grand piano, stunning wood fire and triple bifold doors leading to the terraced deck overlooking the garden. The main reception area has matching 3 seater sofas, 2 big armchairs and many other armchairs that can be pulled over if needed. There is a 55” built-in TV with Sky satellite television and all the usual apps above the wood fire.

The 2nd Reception (which doubles as Bedroom 5 when needed) also has a 55” TV, daybed and armchair for sitting and is perfect for the kids to hang out in, or movie night. There are also lots of movies and games for all ages which you are welcome to enjoy.

Adjacent to this is stylish bathroom with walk-in shower and underfloor heating.

Also downstairs on the ground level is Bedroom 4, just off the main entrance and facing the front of the house which has National Trust woodland opposite. It has a king-sized bed and dresser, and is serviced by the downstairs bathroom with a walk-in shower. Bedroom 5 (which can also be used as a second reception if a 5th bedroom not required) has two single beds, or a super-king sized bed, so both of these bedrooms are great for those guests who may find stairs challenging.

There is room in all the bedrooms upstairs to accommodate an airbed/s or travel cot if you are travelling with children (please inquire).

In addition to the large main reception with bifolds and deck overlooking the magnificent valley, there are 2 further reception rooms - one of which is nestled within the primary suite which also overlooks the valley with double French doors (with safety glass rail).

The other reception room can be used as Bedroom 5 and is on the ground floor and is perfect for kids or rainy days as it features a flat-screen TV, daybed/sofa and blackout blins.

There are 3 bedrooms upstairs – the primary suite has its own lounge with sofas, TV and fireplace. The primary suite also features a super-king bed and ensuite bathroom. Bedroom 2 has a double bed (and single folding bed if needed but please confirm in advance). Bedroom 3 has a king sized-bed and a further single bed. There is room in all of the bedrooms upstairs to accommodate an additional airbed/s, or a travel cot if you are travelling with children (please inquire).

All three of the upstairs bedrooms have standalone air conditioning units, vented directly to the outside. Available May-September.

For bathrooms, the primary suite has an ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower and jacuzzi bathtub; and there is a further full bathroom upstairs shared by Bedrooms 2 and 3. On the ground floor, Bedrooms 4 and 5 share the downstairs bathroom which has a walk-in shower – convenient if you have guests who may find the stairs to the main bedrooms a bit of a challenge.

Our mature English garden set over 4 levels and is our pride and joy. It is south-westerly so gets lots of afternoon sun and is full of interesting nooks and crannies and lots of places to sit and entertain. There are 5 distinct areas to enjoy, including:

* Terrace deck - Accessed via the bifolds from the kitchen and main reception, our elevated terrace deck runs along the whole back of the house and overlooks the pond fountain and the whole rear of the property. It has various great vantage points for enjoying the views, including a 6 person fire-table with bar seating and a long sofa. It also has stairs down to the hot tub and the rest of the garden. The gas BBQ is also on this level, just outside the kitchen bifold doors.

* Main garden - ground level deck with the hot tub and 2 armchairs with stools. The main garden deck leads to a flat, grassy area – perfect for croquet, badminton and any of our other garden pursuits you will find in our onsite games deck box. There is also a wood chimney-style firepit (great for heat, ambience and s'mores). This level also houses our games deck box.

The 6 seater hot tub is available from September to June.

The Gazebo is also on the Main garden level – A pretty, sheltered haven from the sun and the perfect place to enjoy a lazy breakfast, lunch al fresco or pre-dinner cocktails. With a vintage chandelier, dining table and views out to the garden, you can make this space whatever you want it to be!

* Mid-level – garden bench to relax.

* Lower deck – overlooking the woodland clearing below, this custom deck level has been specifically designed for drinks and dining with a dining set for 4 overlooking the valley with its small stream below.

* Woodland – the lower and last level of the property, the woodland level is a cleared area with lots of big trees and branches for den-building, and a small stream running along the bottom. There is also a tree swing perfect for the kids. Join them in building a den or just take a chair and listen to the wind in the leaves.

Gorgeous property and gardens

We had a wonderful stay at the Spacious Surrey Hills Retreat. It’s even more beautiful than the pictures. We had a group of 6 and appreciated how spacious the home was and how many sitting areas it provided. The weather was gorgeous during our visit so we were able to take full advantage of the lovely garden, but even when it did rain a bit, the expansive glass doors and windows provide wonderful views of the garden from almost every room. We very much enjoyed the area, taking walks every morning in the Woodlands across the road or other local walks nearby. There are several quaint villages nearby. Valerie was terrific with communicating from the get-go and checking to make sure we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend!

We lived in London for many years but with the arrival of the kids, we decided to make a move outside the capital for a little more breathing space. We were originally drawn to the Surrey Hills because of the amazing schools but quickly came to love living the country lifestyle - mostly the walks, the people, the pubs!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We develop houses for a living so we have a lot of experience to draw on when contrasting and comparing houses. What we really love about Honeysuckle Cottage is its rural location, nestled in woodland and its amazing mature back garden with 4 levels to enjoy. It overlooks Whitmore Vale and we have re-developed the house to really take advantage of these views - from inside and out.

The floor to ceiling windows/doors on the ground floor and upstairs give wonderful views of the various levels of our garden and in particular, the views from the bedrooms upstairs make you feel like you are living in a treehouse!

We also love entertaining and have created a stylish and social kitchen/dining/living area with lots of seating and stocked with everything you need to host friends and family inside - not to mention all the different areas for entertaining outside.

This house has the most amazing walking trails on its doorstep, not to mention 2 great pubs in walking distance.
