We will be back! Host was excellent in communications leading up to stay. House was even better in person. Great layout for families, excellent location and even though we didn’t have the best ski weather (rain and sleet 2 out of 3 days) we had a great time.

Beautiful house, very close to Sunday River

The house was wonderful, the pictures don't capture how picturesque it was. Very close to Sunday River, and right next to the Matterhorn. The host provided great local recommendations, and also responded almost immediately when we had questions for him. Thank you!

Convenient ski house

The well stocked house is only 4 mins to the mountain. Enough space for everyone to spread out - with a ping pong table and tv in the basement to entertain the kids. The radiant floor heating is nice though it takes some time to heat the house. Didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub as it was raining a lot and needed time to heat from low setting. Overall a comfortable home base for skiing. Would absolutely rent again.

5star Sunday River

This property was the perfect location for my golf gathering at sunday river’s course. Comfortable slept 10+. Most under rated part of the property is the spacious yard which was perfect for bocci, canjam, and spikeball. John was quick to respond to questions and had plenty of suggestions for the area. Would 100% recommend

Fantastic stay at Sunday River

This house was perfect for a family of 5 spending part of the holiday week skiing at Sunday River. Tons of space to spread out, very well equipped, super clean, and couldn't ask for a better location - minutes to the slopes and walking distance to the Matterhorn Ski Bar. We all loved the hot tub after a long day on the slopes, and we had some epic ping pong games on the lower level. John, the property owner, was so great to deal with - sent us lots of great recommendations, very clear instructions for check in, and answered any questions we had within minutes. We definitely plan to come back and stay in this house again - would definitely recommend. Thank you, John, for a great stay!

Beautiful and spacious house!

Beautiful and very spacious house! We had 14 people there, but it does not feel cramp at all. John was very friendly and gave us all check-in information and plenty of restaurant recommendations a few days prior to our stay. Kitchen layout was very functional and kids loved the ping pong table. Hot tub was a huge plus after snowboarding for a few hours at Sunday River. Only thing I would change is, need more lightening outside, dinning room could be brighter, and pots/pan need replacement. Overall, a very beautiful, clean and spacious house! We love it there!! Thanks for having us!

Great Girls Retreat

Perfect house for our yearly women's hiking retreat. Plenty of room, loved the hot tub, close to lots of great hiking and a big kitchen for wonderful/shared meals. Everyone slept well!

Wonderful Summer Getaway!

John, I could go on and on about our stay at your home. 6 adults and 7 kids. It was pure bliss.... the gorgeous master bedroom, shower, hot tub at night, lovely campfire with the kids running around the huge yard... the list goes on! Thank you for the great communication whenever I had a question. We enjoyed tubing on the river, watering holes and side by side buggys through Jericho Mt. Hope to back one day!

Ski and Super Bowl

This home is fantastic to ski, dine and just relax and enjoy the company of good friends. Open floor plan, beautiful views and a spectacular kitchen. The owner is wonderful and this year provide a welcoming gift from local breweries. Thank you for another great stay!

Perfect ski weekend getaway in a dream mountain home

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful mountain home just minutes from Sunday River. Kids loved the game room and bunk rooms downstairs, as well as the hot tub overlooking the ski mountain. Kitchen was well equipped and the owner was so accommodating and responsive to every question we had. We hope to be able to come back here for a ski weekend again next year!!

This house is stunning!

This was the perfect house for an escape to the mountains! Three families stayed here together for one week and everyone had a fabulous time! The house is positively stunning and the location gives a beautiful view of Sunday River Mountain. We had a couple minor issues but the host is so courteous and prompt in his replies. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! We had five young children (ages 3-5) and they absolutely loved sleeping in the bunk bed rooms downstairs. The adults loved cooking in the gorgeous kitchen and grilling out back. We did hiking and exploring by day and s’mores by the fire pit with games, and even movies outdoors at night. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect getaway. Thank you so much!!

River heaven

My family usually spends a week in August on the Maine coast but we weren’t able to find anything this year so we thought we’d try something new. Well, we had so much fun we may never go back to the coast again! First of all, the house is beautiful - airy, filled with windows and light and yes, the sound of the river is heavenly. We had the doors and windows open the whole time and loved falling asleep to the sound of the river. Bonus - it blocked the noise of both of us snoring so we slept extra well! We spent our time biking from the house, hiking or floating on the tubes in the river. Even sitting in the house catching up on work emails was relaxing. Sugarloaf area is a bit quiet in the summer but there are some great restaurants within 20 minute drive and something was always open. Scott the owner was terrific - very communicative and helpful and we are extremely jealous that he gets to stay at this house whenever he wants. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful house and location

This is a beautiful house that was great for the three families we had staying here. The location is awesome as Bethel is close by offering plenty of outings for food and things to do, and when you want to get out in nature, there's no shortage of places close by, particularly Grafton State Park. The property manager, John, was great. There were a few issues with the house upon arrival, and John did his best to get everything resolved as fast as possible. For example, AC was dead, and despite the summer being incredibly busy for HVAC businesses, he has a new unit there that week. Thankfully the weather was beautiful most of the time and AC was not needed. I truly appreciate the effort John made.

NH School Vaca week escape

We enjoyed a solid, good week. The cozy house really offers ample space to gather yet spread out. The owner responded almost immediately whenever needed. We practically never stay at a property more than once because we like diversity but we would stay here again. One note: we didn't realize that we had to buy firewood. The store was out except for a sad bundle wrapped in wasteful plastic and we didn't know in advance so we couldn't bring some from home which was a disappointment and a bit unexpected at the price point. Otherwise, a perfect place.

Excellent family rental!

Completely enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. Nicely decorated and very comfortable and everything you need is there. Awesome kitchen, bathrooms and sleeps a lot of people. Beautiful views of the Mountains. Quiet location only 5 minutes to the mountain. Owner extremely responsive to our questions and to a couple small issues. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Another Incredible Stay at Mountain View Lodge

We stayed at the Mountain View Lodge for a second time and absolutely loved it. The house is large and great for groups. It was immaculate when we arrived and it's fully stocked with everything you need to cook, sleep and relax. The hot tub was amazing in the cold weather and although we didn't use the fire pit outside much, the indoor fire place was perfect to heat the house. John was the best host - he was very responsive and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Will be staying at John's house yet again in the future!

Spectacular house!

This house is perfect for a getaway! The view of the mountains from the skylight makes you feel like you’re outside even from the sofa. The backyard is huge and my daughter loved flying her kite there. The deck is perfect for outdoor dining (and the grill is easy to work!). There are many little gems in the small town that we enjoyed while staying there, but mostly it was the beautiful home and the property that will bring us back. The host is incredibly hospitable and responsive as well.

Hey gang, we live close to Boston but also spend a lot of time in Maine. By day I work at an ad agency in Boston with a bunch of super smart & fantastic folks. When I'm not at work you will find me running, skiing, occasionally trying to surf, listening to or playing music, woodworking, or reading to my kids. Which I will keep doing. No matter how old they are.

We bought this house as a place for the family to come together away from the hustle and bustle of work and school and home. I had my own great childhood memories of family ski trips - the snow, the adventure of the slopes, the pizza nights, the time with parents and friends, etc - and wanted to make some new ones with my own family when my daughters were small. Mission accomplished, we've had great times here over the years with parents coming up from NY, my sister and her gang making the long drive from Philadelphia, or just me and my knucklehead group of college and high school friends. And we're still at it.

I love hearing from my guests about what a great time they had with their own friends and family on Starwood Drive. Truthfully, I started hosting as a way to ensure we could afford the house, but it's been much more rewarding than I expected - being able to help others make some of their own great memories.
