A perfect getaway

Took the parents on a week away to the coast and found an absolute gem to stay in, the wave cottage. Right on the coast, clean, comfortable, cosy but also practical, functional and a great place to relax, unwind and also enjoy the beautiful coast of Sandgate. Sal was amazing, contacted us well in advance and was contactable throughout the stay and answered any queries I had before arriving. The cottage was brilliant and we loved it, thank you Sal and family, we hope to come visit again next year!

Wonderful

My husband and myself stayed here with our Labrador, Puddin. It was her first holiday by the seaside and it was the best! The sea view was so relaxing, the cottage was clean and cozy and we slept really well. Sal who owns Wave Cottage was on hand if there was anything we needed and made us so welcome! We are definitely coming back! Loved every minute of it.

Lovely stay and lovely owner

We had a lovely holiday in Sandgate and the owner of the house was really the sweetest! Could not recommend more with dogs! The house was absolutely perfect with a lovely sea view. The lower score on the 'condition' is just about the fact that the house is a bit older, which has a lovely charm, and has some wear and tear, but however it's perfectly clean! We actually met the lady who cleans the house and Oh My, I would hire her directly! The shower drain was absolutely spotless, which never happens in rentals! So to summarize: LOVELY STAY AND LOVELY OWNER!

A great stay with a fabulous view

We have really enjoyed our stay at Wave Cottage. The accommodation was perfectly suited to our needs and Gill’s mother, aged 92, managed the stairs perfectly well (thank you for your reassurance)! It is great having the facilities of Sandgate, Hythe and Folkestone in easy reach and we made good use of Waitrose and John Dory! But the best facility is the rear terrace, the view and the water - magical!

First class break by the sea

Fabulous location watching the waves roll in. The house was spotless, a fabulous welcome pack, all bases covered for our dog as well. Response from the house was immediate throughout the process , which was so helpful. Would love to return .

Wave Cottage

My daughter and I had a lovely weekend stay at Wave Cottage. The location is great being right on top of the sea and near to all amenities in Sandgate. The cottage is very comfortable and clean. I would definitely recommend it as a delightful place to stay. Sal is a great host and very helpful. We both had a very restful and relaxing time. Many thanks for everything. A&C Nov 24”

Gorgeous sea views in a beautiful house

Wave Cottage has been such a wonderful place for us. From a very calm sea and sunny weather to a wild storm that came close to the house! We have never been so close to the sea before - this was the perfect place! We have had such a wonderful time and Sal is a wonderful host. We felt warmly welcomed and loved very much our time here. We have always wanted to be so close to the sea, and falling asleep to the sound of the waves - wonderful! Thank you for everything, we will surely be back another time! M,O & family plus Crisp

The perfect place with a perfect view.

We had a lovely time at this beautiful cottage as our home base to explore this part of England. The view is just breathtaking and the owner is very kind so we felt right at home! We also had some delicious meals at the local restaurants in the street, the real English experience! Thank you for the great time and we hope to be back. Love L, J, L - Holland. November 2023.

Perfect cottage in a stunning location

Wave Cottage is the perfect, dog friendly, place to stay. The accommodation is comfortable, cosy and equipped to a very high standard . The terrace is something else, with the sea so close and sunrises and sunsets to remember. And all this hosted by friendly and flexible people. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

Lovely place as near to the sea as you can get!

Thank you for a relaxing stay @ Wave Cottage. Wine & milk on arrival was a lovely touch, location is PERFECT. Loved just sitting, listening to the waves crashing. Had a wonderful five days at wave cottage such a find A home from home cosy clean comfortable with views onto the beach and sea couldn’t get any closer kitchen was wonderful as were all the rooms A very good nights sleep waking refreshed A lovely little village and the walks are many to chose from .An absolute Gem of a find wouldn't hesitate to make a return booking thank you

Wave Cottage is a delightful haven

Despite the slightly “patchy” weather, we had a wonderful time at Wave Cottage. The view is a delight and the cottage itself is very well equipped - we wanted for nothing (apart from sun). The village shop is amazing and we appreciated the owners recommendations of where to eat/drink. Having the dogs with us by the sea was the icing on the cake. Thank you so much. We WILL definitely be coming back! N, L, T (+ Lupa & Darcy 🐾 ).

Beautiful beach front location

We had such a wonderful stay at wave coottage. Waking up to sea vies did wonders for our family. Very clean and comfortable with plenty of homely touches throughout. We can't wait to come back next year.

Instantly felt relaxed

Wave cottage is a light and airy, welcoming cottage by day, but warm and cosy for the evenings. The host provided much useful information before we arrived and the cottage was clean and well equipped. There were lots of bonus gifts left for us to enjoy. We felt at home instantly. The garden is where we spent most of our time as we were lucky with the weather so could have all our meals outside, watching sunsets over Dungeness to the west, and France on the horizon to the East. Sitting listening to the waves, watching the ships and ferries in the distance we quickly relaxed. Warm, soft throws were provided for when it turned a little chilly and fairy lights gave a lovely atmosphere. We loved jumping over the little wall to walk along the promenade or to pop to the cafes for a takeaway coffee and bun. Having the sea on our doorstep was the most wonderful treat.

A fantastic weekend with 2 friends and 2 dogs!

Myself, my partner and two friends went down with our dogs the weekend just gone and we had the loveliest, most relaxing stay! Sal was so so helpful with everything from restaurant bookings in Sandgate & Folkestone to everything we may need in the cottage and how to get in when we arrived etc. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with all the utensils you would need (we cooked lemon sole and spaghetti vongole with seafood from the fishmongers in folkestone) as well as a good supply of teas and coffee capsules for the coffee machine. There was even some fantastic board games, including family friendly ones! A lovely weekend and we'll be back!

Lovely three night getaway

We escaped London for a lovely three nights at Wave Cottage over the May bank holiday with our 11 month old daughter. The cottage was a perfect base to explore Kent in a great location with stunning views onto the beach that the pictures can't do justice. Sal was a perfect host and made our stay super comfortable and easy with a baby. The local tips were great - our only addition would be to get across to Whitstable too if you have the time! We'd love to come back and already have friends and family who have booked since our stay :) Thanks again for a great trip.

Had a great time staying at Wave Cottage!

Wave cottage is well equipped, comfortable and very clean. The location is fabulous, and the views from the living room and patio are stunning. My husband and I really enjoyed having a coffee in the mornings while looking at the sea. We couldn’t ask for a better location. We feel so lucky to have found this little treasure in the beautiful town of Folkstone. Sal was a great host, responded very quickly and was very accommodating of our needs. Overall, we were absolutely happy during our stay at Wave Cottage! Marlen & Ruben.

Wave Cottage

We’ve just returned from a lovely sunny week away at Wave Cottage. We were lucky enough to be the very first guests Sal was an excellent host, very communicative and very accommodating to our last minute booking! This place truly is a little slice of heaven! Gorgeous views of the sea which is literally at the end of the patio/garden area. Our girls loved climbing over the wall and they were immediately on the beach. There are lots of places to walk to or a short drive away. We enjoyed a low key week with a couple of trips out in the car but otherwise lots of ice cream and enjoying the beach! The amazing childrens adventure playground (just a short distance around the coast ) was also a big hit with our girls, a lovely place all in all!
