Beautiful, hidden gem

The Chalet is a lovely neat property hidden away, close your eyes and you could be anywhere on earth. It isn't usual for us to have staff and a chef on holiday but it was a lovely treat and the food was amazing. Being able to use the gardens / pools of the beachfront villas when they were free was an added bonus.

A Beautiful Sanctuary

We had the most peaceful, lovely stay at the Chalet - the perfect house for a small family. The space is very comfortable with so many little touches that made it extra special: The garden was magical, we all loved the pool, the outdoor eating and living area is great. We delighted in being so close to squirrels, lizards, beautiful birds and even monkeys high in the trees, everyday. The pond is also very beautiful. The kitchen and bathrooms are great and the bedrooms are very nice and clean, comfy and well taken care of. The staff here also deserve a big mention too as they are an amazing team of people who brought many elements together to ensure our stay was fantastic, from organising massages, delicious meals, whale watching, the lovely lake boat ride and more. Most especially the fabulous Indrani who was so good with our boys and caring to us, she thoroughly spoilt us with her attentiveness and her warm heart - she really transformed the house into a home for us. We would love to go back and would highly recommend all of the Villas in the complex as well as the location in general - so close to the beach, a few quaint little basic shops and some restaraunts within walking distance. We miss our time there all ready. Thank you so much for having us!

Perect Ambience , Perfect Staff

To start with I was devastated to know I booked my flights during the low season and showed to Srilanka with very low expectations . I was totally wrong even during the low season the weather was very very nice , hot with abit of rain every now and then . Plus the crew in (The Chalet) made my experience exceed expectations . Super service , very friendly staff , amazing ambience , the property was well maintained and well taken care of . the whole thing was just AMAZING . I highly recommend it in low / high season , all year along if you want to relax and disconnect for some time.

Better than home

We came to South Point Villa for the Sun, heat and the ocean but we will come back for the food and friendship. The chefs cooked us curried prawns, curried chicken and fish. Breakfast has been made for us every morning by our house maid Indrani. My wife and I love shopping locally so we go to the small fruit market around the corner and buy bananas, papaya, pineapple and passion fruit. The store by the railway tracks has bread delivered every day so that completes breakfast. We have had the chef make lunch for us a few times as well. The Calamari is great, as is the BLT if you are looking for a taste of home. We have also had butter fried cuttlefish and simple egg sandwiches. Other days we have cooked for ourselves and worked our way through the ample leftovers. We stayed in The Chalet for the month of March 2018. The house was perfect for the two of us. The Chalet has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a wonderful outdoor area. The overhead fan keeps us cool and the pool is only a few steps away. We have been able to use the villas next to the ocean when they have been empty and the ocean view at all three of them is great. The villas are all meticulously maintained by the army of gardeners and maids. We were offered a free boat cruise on Lake Kogalla where the rental Cottage is located while there we saw monkeys and eagles. A stop at Cinnamon island completed some of our souvenir shopping for friends at home. We have enjoyed meeting all of the staff at South Point Villas. Mr. Gamini has been a wonderful resource for local knowledge answering all of our questions. Anil (Mr. Fixit) has been ready willing and able to fix any little issues that have come up. Mrs. Sonali the owner has been a pleasure to deal with quickly replying to emails and answering any of our questions. Our house maid Indrani is a treasure. She has made our breakfast, made out beds and kept the house clean. When we moved to one of the other houses for the afternoon, she followed. She made sure we got across the road ok and had everything we wanted when we arrived. Monkeys, Peacocks and a Mongoose visited the garden as well as many other local birds. We enjoyed everything about our month here and happily recommend it to anyone looking for a great vacation in Sri Lanka.

Charming bungalow in great location

We felt very lucky to find this great place to stay. It was the perfect last stop on our Sri Lankan holiday, ideally situated to explore the coast and Galle, but an equally exciting place to while away a day or two in the lovely pool and gardens. The bedrooms are a generous size each with their own spacious en suite and dressing room. And there's a host of super friendly staff on hand to keep the place tidy, advise on day trips and cook meals if you desire. A real gem. We will be back!

The Chalet at South Point Villa

The Chalet is a lovely property, furnished to a very high standard. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean, all with 4 poster beds, air-condition and mosquito nets. But the outside dining veranda is exceptional. Overlooking the gardens and swimming pool this is the perfect place to eat and relax regardless of the weather. We were served high quality breakfasts every morning at our convenience, and our chef took our evening meal orders which were prepared to perfection. The owners and all of the staff at South Point are incredibly helpful and friendly but at the same time un-intrusive. There are dedicated drivers and luxury vehicles on hand 24 hours a day for hire and they again offer a fantastic service. We were taken to a Tea plantation, Turtle sanctuary, Elephant orphanage, temples and several surf beaches. The whole experience, with two young children, was everything we had hoped for and more. We will definitely go back.

Place in paradise

This place has everything one is looking for for a wonderful stay in this part of Sri Lanka. The chalet is beautiful, well equiped, modern and tastfull. The staff was excellent. The cooking (if required) from high level. We stayed for 5 days to attend a wedding. When we go bach to Sri Lanka, this is a sure place to consider to come back again.
