“Spectacular home in the center of Barcelona!
This spectacular home is located in the Barcelona Eixample district, which is the center of Barcelona! The architecture in the Eixample district is impressive, the house is located in the elegant Pasaje Permenyer, very close to Passeig de Gràcia were you can find many high-end international designer stores. This area has many of the five-star hotels in Barcelona as well. There are also several Modernism or Art Nouveau kind of buildings created by the architects Gaudi and Montaner. The streets are beautiful and have an elegant atmosphere. The metro is at walking distance from this house and all touristic attractions, shops, and fabulous restaurants!
The entire house is gorgeous; our bathroom even had a Jacuzzi for six people! The kitchen was well equipped and the entire house was absolutely lovely! The neighborhood was very nice and safe. We walked everywhere and felt safe at all times.
We had a fabulous week in Barcelona thanks to Ewa and Joy! Both were at all times helpful, very friendly, and offered us assistance when needed! Joy made breakfast for us every morning – breakfast was included in the rate! She even did our laundry!
Ewa was fantastic as well. She greeted us when we arrived, helped us with our luggage, and showed us all the amenities in the house. She was friendly and professional! We could contact her at any time and she provided us with information on reservations, places to visit, phone numbers, etc she was always helpful! It was nice to see that both Ewa and Joy spoke English.
When we returned to the United States my nephew realized he had left his hat at a restaurant. I sent Ewa an email asking her for help. She immediately went to the restaurant picked up the hat and mailed it to us. She didn’t even want to charge us for shipping! Wonderful Customer Service!!! We were all impressed!
There are so many place to visit in this colorful and lively city to include La Rambla and the Mercat de Sant Josep Boqueria, the Sagrada Familia, several museums to include Picasso Museum, Miro Museum, and many more, The Barcelona Cathedral, Casa Mila also known as La Pedrera, it is one of the Barcelona buildings designed by Antoni Gaudi, Casa Batllo is one of three unusual buildings along Passeig de Gracia, together with Casa Amatller and Casa Lleo-Morera – this street is called the "Block of Discord", all impressive, all different styles!
I highly recommend Barcelona as a tourist destination and the Central House in Barcelona!
Fabulous location in the center of everything!
This home is located in a great neighborhood on a lovely, private street. It includes very light housekeeping (not real cleaning, but a bit of straightening up) and descent breakfast provided by Tel who was absolutely charming.
The home is oddly designed with 3 bedrooms and the kitchen located down one flight of a very small staircase. The very large living room is on the main level above the bedrooms, and a fourth bedroom is above the living space. The playroom and laundry is found below the bedrooms and can only be accessed via the outside front garden, which is inconvenient especially if it is raining. The roof deck is three levels above the bedrooms, four above playroom.
Each person was allotted only one bath towel and one hand towel which we found to be very “tacky”. The washer was easily operated, but the dryer took at least two hours to dry the towels which was most inconvenient.
We found the home to be very “stuffy” and dark since most rooms had no windows that let in natural light and the living room had machines that blew air, but not cold or fresh air.
The “yellow” bedroom (the master) has a HUGE jacuzzi tub/shower that is difficult (bordering on dangerous) to enter and exit. The hot water was problematic in all bathrooms. It took forever and was difficult to control once you had it.
Beds were comfortable, pillows ok.....
The keys and locks were very difficult to manage and in the case of a fire we would never have gotten out of the house!
I expected something in better condition and was disappointed with the home, although my family was happy and that was what mattered most.
