Newly refurbished, Granary cottage is home from home, ideal for family or friends wanting some time away in a beautiful setting. Open plan living, kitchen & dining space, perfect for meal times together. The is a smart tv and chromecast so you will not miss your favourite tv shows. Your pet can also holiday with you as this cottage is pet friendly, up to 2 small dogs permitted. with over 700 acres of farm and woodland to explore there are plenty of lovely walks to go on. The cottage is opposite the Games barn which is stocked with table tennis, pool, air hockey, toys and ride ons and much more, there is an outdoor play area. There is plenty to do.

Cottage Stay Granary

All of our family stayed in the Spixworth Cottages for our wedding which we had in the barns. My family who stayed in the Granary said it was very clean and tidy, set out well with everything you needed. A nice touch was added on arrival with all condiments for our stay. The family who stayed in lodge enjoyed the board games which had been provided in the cottage. Lovely place to stay thank you

A great place to stay

We stopped in one of the cottages, so much room and space. Lovely traditional solid buildings, with all the mod cons inside you would hope for. The grounds are fantastic, peaceful and away from it all. We were a group of younger folk and it was great to see all different age ranges, families, etc all stopping in the different cottages. There’s so much space you don’t even need to interact if u don’t want to. Heated pool a big plus and our main reason for booking - lots of fun. Would recommend to all.

A great holiday

This was a return visit to a lovely spot. Swimming, tennis, The Broads all on tap and the fine City of Norwich close by. The big plus was that all the family (including two 18-20) had a lovely time. It’s so peaceful on the farm, but with plenty to do. The accommodation is high quality and very comfortable. Not a lot not to like!!

Back again!

My Family came to stay last year to visit us in Norfolk. It was so lovely and fun that we joined them this year even though we live in Norfolk. The facilities are amazing and we love the pool the most and the new games room is excellent too! Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

Family get together

Wonderful! It was a comfortable and beautifully decorated cottage. A large fridge freezer and plenty of storage. This cottage is dog friendly too. Lovely location. Children loved the on-site games barn/ games room which was an added bonus too!

Lovely spotless cottage

We stayed here with family into cottages. The granary was with a more modern cottage and delightful. The host day was fantastic, beautiful walks, a relaxing time. I would highly recommend. Speak with cottages for getting back to nature, relaxing break.

We love it here

My partner and I have visited the Spixworth estate twice now and are planning on returning every year. The staff are always lovely, the properties are kept really well and are cosy and traditional sort of cottages. The site is really something special and our high needs chihuahua loves it! Fabulous Family Weekend!

We booked both Granary and Waterside Cottages to celebrate a family birthday. It worked incredibly well for both adults and children (ages 17 - 7). The games barn and outdoor pool were a real bonus keeping everyone entertained. Enjoyable walks around the grounds too. Check in was straight forward. Comfortable beds and good quality bed linen. Well stocked kitchen utensils and pots/pans.

A Blissful weekend in a working farm

this magnificent property offers the utmost in comfort for a large group with sufficient equipment to cater for every culinary whim. The location is absolutely magical with spectacular grounds and leisure facilities to keep everyone interested occupied, even during adverse weather conditions. The hosts are very approachable and helpful in tackling any queries or issues that may arise. The bridleways offer very scenic walks in a working farm teeming with wildlife and birdlife. We spotted an owl hunting early one morning and at night bats make interesting viewing in the moonlight. I will be returning again and again as we barely managed to scratch the surface in enjoying what this region has to offer.

Brilliant family weekend

Just spent the weekend here with our large extended family. Ages ranging from 2-82. Everyone had a brilliant time. Such a beautiful site with well maintained properties. The pool and the games room/ barn were enjoyed by everyone & the location is absolutely stunning! Jack, Sheelagh & Kim were friendly & helpful and made the booking process very smooth. We had a fabulous time. Thanks for having us! :-)

Fantastic accommodation

I very rarely leave reviews but we have just returned from a fantastic stay at the Granary Cottage. Very spacious accommodation and clean and tidy! It had all the amenities we needed and the games room was a great addition! Thanks again for a lovely stay and look forward to our next visit! Keep up the good work!

A return visit

This is our second time staying in the Granary Cottage and we have a great time. The surroundings are ideal for the children and they love using the pool. The lounge/kitchen has everything we need and this year the sofas had been replaced. There was also new climbing frames, slides and swings. The cottage is well located and in easy reach of the Broads for boats and also the coast. We enjoyed the Dinosaur park, which was a great day out for all the family. It was a great week and I'm sure we ill be returning next year.

We are currently rolling out a refurbishment programme and updating the cottages. Spixworth Hall cottages

A lovely holiday home. Location was great for access to beaches and Norwich. We used the pool most days which was heated to a good temperature (a net to clean the surface before use would have been good though). We also used the tennis court which was a lovely bonus. It's worth noting that both the pool and the court are a short drive or reasonably long walk away (or long walk with kids anyway!). A fab new playground was installed whilst we were there, it's just beside the cottages so a great feature for the kids (aged 5 and 9). The beauty of the outdoor areas didn't quite follow through to the interior decor which was a little dated, but it was perfectly functional and clean and everything was in good working order. The owners were easily contactable if we had any questions.

Hi Natalie Thank you for your lovely review, we are so pleased you all had a great stay and enjoyed the swimming pool and tennis court. There is a net at the back area of the pool which can be used by guests to clean the surface before use. It is kept there for safety reasons and so that children do not play with it. we are delighted you like our new children's playground that is currently being installed, we are hopefully to have this open very soon. With regards to the beauty of the properties inside we are working our way through the cottages and updating them. New sofas were bought and placed into Granary cottage just before your arrival and we are currently looking at renewing the carpets and kitchens. A much needed holiday of peace and quiet

We much appreciated being greeted by Sheelagh on arrival and immediately felt reassured by her responsible approach to COVID requirements. We felt safe. The location is wonderful with easy walking around the farm, easy access to Norwich and the Broards. We had expected to be busy but after a couple of sorties we luxuriated in the peace, sunshine and our books . We got lazier and lazier and blame the air! The Granary was perfect and very well set up as a holiday cottage. As a couple we just used the top bedroom with excellent shower. Downstairs we were able to cook if we wanted to and be inside happily but the weather was so lovely we spent much time outside. We had access to both sunshine and shade which we needed in September!! We were able to walk almost entirely off road to the Black Swan where we felt comfortable eating outside. We will return to this wonderful complex of cottages bringing our family and hopefully find the energy to explore further afield.
