Stables cottage - fully accessible with you in mind

Stables cottage has been fully renovated for those with mobility issues. This fully accessible property has everything you need for a comfortable holiday. Widened doorways, accessible bathroom with walk in shower and lowered bath tub, electric profile bed in the twin room, fitted kitchen ideal for wheelchair users and a patio for you to enjoy the sunshine.
Take advantage of the peace & quiet relaxing in our gardens, taking in the scenery. Or go exploring around our grounds, enjoy the duck pond & see the wonderful wildlife. Children will enjoy the games barn (open all year, wrap up in the winter) with a pool table, Air hockey. table tennis & toys to enjoy. There are swings & climbing frames around the grounds.
Located across the farm (a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk) at the north end is our outdoor heated swimming pool & Grass tennis court (open from May to the end of September). We operate a booking system for those that would like a private swim and there is also a free swim session where all guests can use the pool at the same time. On the opposite side of the farm there is our hard tennis court which is open all year round.

Lovely stay

We always have a lovely time each time we stay with Sheelah, Kim & the team in Spixworth. They always go above and beyond to make our stay really enjoyable, from booking, staying & afterwards when I had left some belongings, which they found and sent onto me. I would highly recommend staying here.

Brilliant stay with everything I needed

Stables is very well and thoughtfully equipped with everything I needed for a great stay with my assistance dog and wheelchair. The location is great with easy access to all the broards, and the recreational facilities great if the weather is poor. Wonderful holiday.

The Stables is the perfect accommodation for a disabled family member, allows all guests to have independence during their holiday, surrounded by beautiful countryside with all the attractions of Norfolk only short drives or bus journeys away.

A home from home

Wonderful long weekend with all 26 of our family for my partners 50th. Something for all ages to do on site. Beautiful cotttages and wonderful very helpful staff. Would definitely stay again.

One of our favourite places

We have stayed at Spixworth Hall 4 times now. Its beautiful, peaceful, friendly place to visit and situated within very asy reach if the coast, Norfolk Broads and Norwich. We had my elderly parents with us so booked 'Stables Cottage' as it is fully accessible.

Cottage Stay Stables

All of our family stayed in the Spixworth Cottages for our wedding which we had in the barns. My family who stayed in the Stables said it was very clean and tidy, set out well with everything you needed. A nice touch was added on arrival with all condiments for our stay. My Grandad stayed in this cottage and is was very disabled friendly so everything was very accessible for him. Everything on one floor. Thank you Spixworth Cottages

I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

As always, the cottage was clean & very well set up. I love the fact you get milk & either cake or biscuits on arrival & one of the owners always comes to check everything’s ok. We’ve been staying at least once a year for the last 7 years & intend on returning every year at least once in the future. Beautiful walks in beautiful surroundings.

Weekend break at Stables Cottage

Peaceful location with interesting walks in woodland, fields and footpaths. Stables Cottage is on the ground floor of a handsome manor house and is full of character and charm. It's comfortable and clean and looks out onto a delightful shared garden.

Great to be back again ....

I realised during this stay that we have been coming to Spixworth Cottages for over 15 years! The cottages were recommended to me by a good friend and I have recommended this lovely place to multiple people since. The setting is amazing - the walks, the outdoor pool, the children's games barn, tennis courts and the new games room are all fantastic! The cottages are well equipped and comfortable with many new bathrooms & kitchens in recent years. Good work, Team Spixworth and many thanks, as always!

Our stay at The Stables was fantastic. The cottage has everything you need and the extra touches that make it feel like home. The adapted bathroom is brilliant and excellently thought out. To be able to step out of front door to beautiful country walks was an extra treat. Jack and Sheelah could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend staying here.

Charming spacious cottage

Loved the cottage - beautiful setting and really appreciated the space of the accessible design. You can hear some noise from above and the horses do clip clop around quite early but we didn’t find it a problem. Great to learn about the solar power too! Thanks for a lovely stay

Great for families

Beautiful setting with fully equipped self catering facilities. BBQ’s provided to use in the shared gardens. The stable cottage with view of the horses was spacious clean and comfortable. The grounds are well kept and maintained the bonus was the lovely warm swimming pool, tennis courts plus the games room and playground were all perfect not keep the kids entertained. The WiFi is good enough to work remotely if necessary. The location is great it’s close to Beweilerwood, Roarr, Cromer beach and the Norfolk Broads. Highly recommend and will return.

Surpassed our expectations!

We booked primarily to be local to a family friend and her daughter who we wished to visit. We had a fantastic week helped of course by the sunny weather throughout. Genuinely dog friendly, lovely little play park for our nine year old, but the best thing was the swimming pool. Having the option to have an hour's slot privately bookable each day as well as the free swim option we felt in the lap of luxury. Owners were very friendly and responsive. Impossible to fault! Thank you - we hope to be back!

Nice, quiet place to stay.

We booked for 4 nights during half term. The place is quirky in a good way - comfortable with character - and quiet even though we had neighbours. The cottage was very clean and well equipped, with a stable door to a small walled garden. We used the wood burner and the large tv got good use as the weather was a bit wet. Didn’t get to take many walks but would do if a bit drier. The games rooms were good and a nice touch. Location wise a bit off the beaten track but there are supermarkets and pubs within a few minutes drive, and Norwich is 5ish miles away. Overall very good.
