Amenities include an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, and dishwasher. The bedrooms consist of a king-size with TV, a twin, and a single, along with a bathroom. Outside, there is an enclosed rear patio with furniture, a shared lawned garden, and off-road parking for two cars. Within 0.8 miles, there is a shop, within 0.9, a pub, and within 1, a beach. Two well-behaved pets are welcome but sorry, no smoking. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels (not beach towels) are all included in the price. A highchair and travel cot are available, but please bring own cot bedding. Note: Sloping ceilings in bedrooms. 4 Afton Barns is an ideal base for exploring the Isle of Wight or simply relaxing on one of the nearby beaches.

Region: The Isle of Wight, with its beaches, unspoiled scenery, rich heritage and over 500 miles of award-winning public footpaths is a walker’s paradise, or if sailing is your thing, the renowned annual Cowes Week is not to be missed.

Town: Freshwater consists of Freshwater Village and Freshwater Bay on the Isle of Wight. Freshwater village has small shops, cafes, and the West Wight Sports Centre and Indoor Pool. Freshwater Bay and nearby Compton Bay are known for their high chalk cliffs, rolling downs, and lovely beaches. Freshwater Bay Golf Club, which overlooks the English Channel, offers a superb day out for golfers of all abilities, while the area is a haven for birdwatchers, cyclists, and walkers with many wonderful walks to be enjoyed not only on West Wight but across the entire Isle of Wight's varied island landscape. Afton Down and Tennyson Down are popular local walks. Dimbola Museum and Photographic Galleries are at Tennyson Down. The Needles Pleasure Park at Alum Bay with its coloured sand cliffs and chairlift to the beach is just south west of Freshwater, and Cowes is the premier yachting centre of the Isle of Wight. East Cowes' Osborne House was Queen Victoria's home. Alfred Lord Tennyson once lived at the Farringford Hotel on Freshwater Bay, and many poets, authors, and painters have been drawn to West Wight. With Yarmouth's harbour, pier, shops, inns, restaurants, and Tudor castle nearby, this is an ideal holiday base.
