A great place to return to after a day of fun, you can grab a seat and drink to enjoy the last of the evening sunshine whilst relaxing, overlooking the beach. The village of Bacton offers a children’s play area, lovely walks, woodland perfect for picnic opportunities, fish and chip shop, café and an ice cream parlour. The seaside resorts of Cromer, 13 miles, and Sheringham, 17 miles, provide a great day out. Be sure to bring your sea fishing rod and catch your supper.
Wroxham, the capital of the Broads, is within easy reach. The stark natural beauty of the Broads is best appreciated from the water, and with daily river trips or boats to hire, Wroxham is as good a place as any to start down the River Bure. The outdoor tree adventure park BeWILDerwood at Horning is a great place for children to burn off some energy. For avid gardeners, a visit to the Old Vicarage Gardens at East Ruston is a must, and golfers won’t be disappointed with the courses at The Royal Cromer and Mundesley nearby.
National Trust properties in the vicinity include Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall, Sheringham Park and Horsey Windpump. Visit Horsey Beach between December and February for your chance to spot hundreds of grey seals and pups along the shore. Alternatively, the historical city of Norwich, 21 miles, boasts two indoor shopping centres, market square, cafés, restaurants, castle museum, cathedral and theatre. Excellent walking, cycling, bird watching, and sea fishing are all available locally. Beach 5 yards. Shop ¼ mile, pub and restaurant located below the accommodation.
