Ideally situated villa with private pool Lixouri Kefalonia.

This is an exceptional villa with beautiful sea views, in a peaceful non overlooked village location. On the edge of Havadata, the villa is tucked into a hillside with a mix of olive trees, firs, and oleanders providing privacy and a tranquil feel. There are few neighbours so it's quiet and private. In the village there are two shops, a taverna and a bar with a terrace and views to the sea.

Start your day with a short walk to the village to get breakfast provisions, and then cool down by dipping into the clear waters of your own private swimming pool or laze on the sun-beds. A BBQ and dining area are set up on the patio by the pool area which allows guests to enjoy an evening or two admiring the views.

Paliki is blessed with a variety of beaches to visit and things to do. Petani beach and Atheros beach are a short drive away where you will find two of the best beaches on Kefalonia. Xi beach near Lixouri is more popular and has beach tavernas where you can lunch. Other smaller coves and inlets exist for you to explore. There is a selection of hill walking and the peninsular has some areas suitable for cycling which you won't find on the other side of the island.

Lixouri (Population 2,000) is our regional capital, linked to Argostoli by a frequent car and passenger ferry. There is a town square which is surrounded by restaurants and tavernas. There are regular concerts held here, with local musicians and dancers performing throughout the summer. Take a short walk to the harbour where you can see the local fshing fleet bobbing at anchor, and where you can buy fresh fish for your BBQ.

An exceptional villa, in the lovely village of Havdata. Many xxceptional details given to the villa facilities. We have loved our stay and will look at returning. Very sad to leave. Simply wonderful.

Excellent villa

Our family of 2 adults and three children enjoyed our stay at this lovely villa. It's located in a quiet part of the island with lovely views and with multiple beaches and lixouri all within a 15 minute drive. The villa has everything thing that you need including a nice pool, well equipped kitchen, BBQ, air con and shutters on the windows (which helps keep the kids asleep). The host was extremely accommodating and quick to respond to any questions. We travel alot and have rented many villas and this is a place is a very good package.

A wonderful stay at Villa Kef!

Fantastic property, spacious, very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Pool and outdoor area was great, with a big gas barbecue provided. Ideal for a family of 4 like us. Location is a bit out of the way, so a car and a good sense of direction (or google maps) are essential, but on the plus side it is very tranquil and relaxing with great views, and is a great base to explore Kefalonia and in particular the Palaki peninsular and its stunning beaches. Lixouri is only a 15 min drive and has an ample choice of supermarkets, restaurants, shops etc. Argostoli is within easy reach by ferry and is a nice town. Communication with Toby the host was very good, he provided us with an excellent welcome pack with info on the villa and the local area, as well as a video with driving directions from Lixouri to the villa - super helpful! Overall we would highly recommend this property.

generally ok

in general the villa is ok,there was substantial and very noisy building work being carried out next door which because of this meant we were overlooked for much of the time we were outside near the pool. we had no hot water or oven until the 3rd day due to electrical problems which the owner had repaired swiftly. the garden could do with some attention and the wicker furniture in the living room is far from comfortable, other than this i can recommend the villa which i am sure will be more relaxing when the building work is finished next door. sorry if this sounds like a moan but this holiday was long looked forward to and turned out very disappointing.

I'm sorry there was building work next door. That villa has been empty for 10 years, and the work was unexpected. As you say, by the end of this season the work will be completed so for 2024 it will not be an issue. To be honest you will be hard pressed to find an area on Kefalonia these days without some type of construction work taking place nearby. The hot water failure was fixed within 1 day of being reported, and the oven was fixed at the same time. I'm sorry you experienced the outages - but things do fail from time to time. I have a team on the island that can deal with most issues if reported to me promptly. Generally, the villa is set up as holiday let, with plenty of seating inside and out. The wicker lounge set has been used many times by many guests without comment, so I'm a little surprised read your comment. I am at the villa very soon, and if I find the seating has been misused by previous guests this summer I will certainly change it out. Thank you for your feedback.

Fantastic Villa

Just finished spending two fantastic weeks at Villa Kef. When we arrived, everything was spotlessly clean. There is a key safe at the door for access when you arrive, and the host, Toby supplies the code prior to your arrival. Inside there is a fantastic open plan layout of dining area, kitchen and living room space, with downstairs toilet and shower room complete with washing machine. The sitting area has a TV offering satellite TV, and DVD connectivity. Bedrooms are on the first floor and are a good size. Toby has recently installed a new fridge freezer with a very good size freezer compartment which we made good use of. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need, with the usual kettle and toaster but also a microwave and toastie machine. There was also a miscellaneous drawer with bits and bobs you might forget, like travel plug adapters and a very conveniently adapted extension cable. There is also a very handy folder containing information about the island and various facilities and tours. There are a great selection of books and also games should you wish. There is also a nice boules set and a badminton set if you're feeling energetic. The location is very quiet, which was what we were looking for. A 10 minute walk to a local taverna (Billys) which does great food and was so cheap, I was convinced we were undercharged, but you don't get a bill, just told what you owe, so I'll never know! The villa has a double bedroom with doors onto the two balcon

5 star holiday

Villa Kef is a jewel. Not so if you want a noisy resort based holiday, but for peace, cleanliness, well appointed beautiful house with 3 bathrooms - it is amazing. We loved the remote area, enjoyed getting out in our hire car to explore the wonderful island, and also spending lazy days at the house, cooking on the BBQ or using the lovely kitchen to produce our own food and lazing in the pool - and lying in the sun, or shade - it has it all. It certainly exceeded our expectations. The fridge sadly died when we were there (pretty extreme temperatures for June), but a new fridge/freezer arrived in record time (even over a national holiday weekend) and communication from Toby was 2nd to none. Cannot recommend this property more highly (but keep it quiet - I want to go back so don't want it completely booked out!) Thank you Toby, 100% 5* property and experience. n.b.This holiday was 2 years in the making, I had booked back in 2022 to go in June 2023 but my father passed away exactly when I was due to travel. I contacted Toby in advance knowing it was impossible to travel, and asked if we could move the holiday to the same dates the following year. Not an issue, he did that. I then realised the new booking was the exact day my father actually died, so I couldn't be away then. Again, I asked to change, no problem - I was left to choose dates that suited me and my family circumstances. Nothing was too much trouble, and I am truly grateful for that. Thanks Toby!
