Romantic Retreat

We spent a lovely week at this gorgeous cottage in a stunning setting. Beautiful solitude enhanced by the sound of nature and nothing else. The cottage was warm, we went in mid October, comfortable and pleasantly decorated. No knick-knacks and lots of books - perfect! We enjoyed evenings by the fire and made full use of Catina's wonderful recommendations. I don't think there could be enough adjectives to described the loveliness of this place, not to mention the wonderful hosts, Jack and Catina. Thank you for your hospitality and generosity.

Una estancia inolvidable

Acabamos de volver a España y ya echamos de menos la casa. El lugar es de ensueño, rodeado de boques frondosos y apartado de la muchedumbre pero a la vez a 25 min. de Florencia. Estuvimos en Stalleta, una casita pequeña pero con todo lo necesario para hacer nuestra estancia agradable. Hasta tiene barbacoa!! También para la alegría de los más pequeños y de los grandes hay piscina, situada entre el grupo de casitas y rodeado por bosque y arboles frutales. Para los aficionados al running de montaña esto es un paraíso. Existen muchas rutas para poder adentrarte en los bosques y con un poco de suerte cruzarte con algún ciervo, conejos, perdices y demás animales como me ocurrió a mi. Catina es la anfitriona y se desvive por sus huéspedes, tiene detalles que hace que te sientas como de su familia y su tiramisú es de escándalo!!! Recomiendo este lugar a todo el que quiera visitar la Toscana.

Traumhaft!

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können es jedem empfehlen! Super ruhige Lage mitten in der Natur, trotzdem ist man schnell und unkompliziert in Florenz. Auch in direkter Umgebung gibt es in ein paar Fahrtminuten mit dem Auto schöne Restaurants, direkt von der Unterkunft kann man sehr schön spazieren gehen. Die Wohnung ist geschmackvoll und stimmig eingerichtet, die Begrüßung war toll und wir haben uns in den Tagen bei Catina sehr wohl gefühlt! Große Empfehlung!

Großartige Location, nichts für ängstliche oder schlechte Autofahrende

Wir haben jede Minute geliebt. Catina und Jack sind unfassbar freundliche Gastgeber und die Lage ist ein Traum. Habe ich den fantastischen Pool schon erwähnt, der viel größer ist, als er aussieht und die freundlichen Katzen? Die Anfahrt ist immer gut für einen Adrenalinschub, wer Probleme mit engen Kurven oder Schüttelpisten hat, sollte sich das überlegen. Die Gastro-Tipps von Catina sind (Hüft) Gold wert, wir wollen unbedingt wiederkommen!

Sehr schön gelegenes Haus mit tollem Pool. Alles sehr sauber und gemütlich. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Catina und ihr Mann sind tolle Gastgeber die uns mit Wein und Kuchen verwöhnten. Leider hatten wir wirklich schlechtes Wetter, aber wir kommen gerne wieder!

Tolle Unterkunft

Catina war eine super nette Vernieterin und immer für alle Fragen erreichbar. Ihr Mann Jack auch. Der Empfang mit super leckerem Kuchen und Wein .... danke. Für das Wetter kann ja keiner was. Wir sind im strömenden Regen angekommen und auch abgereist. Dadurch und sowieso... ist das letzte Stück der Anfahrt... der Privatweg... doch abenteuerlich. Aber für Städtetripp ein guter Ausgangspunkt. Vielen Dank noch einmal für das Kabel und dafür, dass ihr sofort die Heizung angeworfen habt. Liebe Grüße G+G

Erholung pur

Wir haben hier eine wunderschöne, erholsame und entspannte Urlaubswoche verbracht. Schon der Empfang von Catina war sehr herzlich. Mit selbst gemachtem Zitronenkuchen, Wein und Bier fühlten wir uns sofort sehr heimisch. Wir hatten die Wohnung Stalletta, die für zwei Personen gut ausgestattet, gemütlich und geräumig ist. Wer Erholung und Entspannung sucht ist hier genau richtig.

Un écrin de verdure

Nous avons été enchantés de notre séjour à Castellare. Un très bel endroit, entretenu avec soin par des propriétaires charmants. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié les quelques degrés de moins qu'en plaine et la chouette piscine. De belles vacances (et l'endroit doit être parfait pour un séjour à l'automne). Awesome stay

We had originally booked for one week but we decided to stay a little longer. Luckily there was a vacant spot. The place is very beautiful and truly special. Also our dog enjoyed it very much with the big garden, the olive field and the hikes through the woods. Catina and Jack are very nice and helpful hosts. Thank you both for the very special and relaxing holiday at your place.

Peaceful wonderful location in the nature

We stayed for one week and found a perfect quiet place for daytrips in the area or for Hang-outs at a great pool and with a possibility for bbq just outside our private apartment. The interior was very well chosen and Catina, our host, made us feel very welcome during and even before our arrival. We would highly recommend this very nice place and host!!!

Eine Woche in Catina‘s & Jack‘s Paradies

Da wir sehr kurzfristig gebucht hatten, war „nur“ noch das „Apartment“ Stalletta frei, die kleinste der Unterkünfte, die uns als Paar aber definitiv überzeugt hat. Mit eigenem Hauseingang und der wunderschönen Terasse hat man trotz des angrenzenden Hauses das Gefühl allein in Castellare zu sein und genügend Privatsphäre. Die Unterkunft ist liebevoll eingerichtet und es fehlt an nichts. Sogar ein großzügiger Pool steht in der großzügigen Anlage von Castellare zur Verfügung. Die Stalletta verfügt als einzige Unterkunft über einen Steingrill und hat unserer Meinung nach die schönste Terasse, die dazu einlädt die Aussicht zu und den nächtlichen Sternenhimmel bei einem Glas Wein zu genießen. Catina und Jack haben sich mit Castellare ein kleines Paradies mitten in der Natur, abseits des Trubels geschaffen. Beide sind sehr herzliche Gastgeber, so wurden wir mit selbstgebackenem Zitronenkuchen und einer Flasche Wein begrüßt - zwischendurch gab es für jeden Gast ein leckeres Tiramisu. Wer gutes Olivenöl schätzt, kann Catina nach dem selbstgepressten lokalen Olivenöl der umliegenden Plantagen fragen. Ein wahrer Genuss! Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen und können das kleine Paradies nähe Florenz nur weiterempfehlen!

Un séjour inoubliable

Endroit idyllique, au calme, immergé en pleine nature et idéalement situé pour visiter Florence et le Chianti. L'appartement est très confortable, bien équipé et décoré avec beaucoup de goût. Catina est une hôte exceptionnelle, souriante et toujours disponible. Nous la remercions encore pour son accueil chaleureux et ses nombreuses attentions: le vin, les délicieux gâteau et tiramisu. Nous ne pouvons que recommander vivement cet endroit et nous avons hâte d'y retourner.

Fabulous country vacation spot!

The owners are incredibly kind and fabulous hosts! We enjoyed visiting with owner. The home/apartments each have their unique personality. Comfortable, clean and convenient to nearby towns and train. We enjoyed the quietness of the countryside after a day of sightseeing. Highly recommend!

Tuscan Holiday

Castellare is the perfect place to relax after a day of sight seeing. Its an easy 15 minute ride to the train station in Sieci and a 20 minute train ride to SMN station in Firenze. All of the places that you are going to want to visit, Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa are easily accessible by car. After a day of hustle and bustle and tourists you are going to want to relax and Castellare is perfect. We stayed in the apartment for two, we cooked most of the time, enjoyed a fire in our fireplace (courtesy of Giacomo providing us the wood) drank some great Chianti and just really looked forward to returning to "our place" at the end of the day. Catina and Jack are the perfect hosts and it was great to get to know them. I really recommend it to anyone visiting Tuscany. We will definitely be back!

Idyllisches Haus mitten in den toskanischen Bergen

Catina und Jack sind tolle Gastgeber, sie lassen es an nichts fehlen. Zur Begrüssung gab es einen leckeren Kuchen und Wein und später noch ein fantastisches Tiramisu. Auch unser Hund war sehr willkommen und hat die Freiheit und den grossen Obstgarten sehr genossen. Hier kann man sich wunderbar erholen und den Alltag hinter sich lassen. Wir kommen sicher wieder

Es war wunderbar!

Catina und ihre Familie sind wunderbare Gastgeber. Das "Anwesen" liegt ausserhalb, so dass man keine andere Wahl hat, als sich zu entspannen. Ich kann nur Gutes berichten, und würde -würde ich weiter schreiben- ins schwärmen geraten. Klare Empfehlungen für die Gastgeber, das Domizil, und die Lage.

Beautiful!

It was an amazing week for us, very relaxed and Catina and Giacomo were so nice. We got a homemade cake, Tiramisu and on the begin of the vacation a bottle of wine. We had something nice to talk together - I will come again! One of the most beautiful Toscana places near Firenze.

Unvergesslicher Aufenthalt!!

Wir verbrachten 1 Woche in dieser wundervollen Unterkunft. Schon die Kommunikation im Vorfeld mit Catina war ausgezeichnet, sie gab uns eine sehr präzise Angabe zur Anfahrt des Hauses (das Navi hätte uns anders geleitet) als auch eine Angabe für einen Supermarkt in Florenz an der Autobahnabfahrt. Begrüßt wurden wir von Catina sehr liebevoll mit einem selbstgebacken Kuchen, jeweils einer Flasche Rot- und Weißwein aus der Region (Chianti ruffino) und sehr vielen Informationen und Tipps. Wir bewohnten zu zweit das Appartment Stalletta, vom Platz absolut ausreichend. Die Ferienunterkunft ist hervorragend ausgestattet, so dass wir nach unseren Unternehmungen ausgezeichnet kochen konnten. Die Unterkunft liegt auf einem privaten Hügel mitten in einem Wald und ist hervorragend für den Besuch von Florenz geeignet. Nach einer 15minütigen Autofahrt nach Sieci fährt regelmäßig mehrmals die Stunde bis spätabends ein Zug bis in die City von Florenz. Nach dem Sightseeing in der lebhaften Stadt haben wir die Ruhe bei Catina und den Pool sehr genossen. Der Pool gehört zu der gesamten Anlage mit insgesamt 4 Wohnungen, was aber niemals ein Problem war. Catina ist eine hervorragende Gastgeberin und wir haben diese Woche sehr genossen. Vielen Dank für diese wundervolle Zeit, wir kommen wieder!

Einfach nur wunderschön...

Unser Domizil war, wie ja auch bereits auf den Bildern zu erkennen, wunderschön und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Alles, was man benötigt, ist da, sogar eine Waschmaschine. Die Häuser liegen idyllisch in einem riesigen Waldgebiet, außer Vogelgezwitscher ist nichts zu hören. Trotzdem ist man schnell mit der Bahn oder mit dem Auto (man kann problemlos am Stadtrand in einem Parkhaus parken) in Florenz, und kann dann das Stadtleben mit all seinen Vorzügen genießen - und sich wieder auf die Ruhe freuen, in die man danach zurückkehrt. Catina hat sich um alles gekümmert, war immer sehr hilfsbereit und hat jede Frage ausführlich beantwortet. Es lohnt sich aber auch ein Ausflug zu einem der vielen Ziele, die in einem extra Ordner mit Tipps und wichtigen Hinweisen aufgeführt sind. Vielen Dank für dieses wundervolle Fleckchen Erde.

Secluded Paradise

If you're looking to experience Florence as well as the more authentic surrounding areas, look no further than this secluded getaway. Not only will you arrive to a quaint and picturesque "reclaimed" hilltop getaway, but you'll have access to the greatest resource of all - your host, Catina. It's easy enough to experience Florence appropriately through some astute online research, but finding the local gems that truly define local Italian culture are much harder to come by. Catina's connections to the much smaller, bona fide establishments are what matters if you're at all interested in experiencing the neighbourhoods that truly define this region. Do yourself a favour and skip the hotel. This reclaimed farmhouse is beautiful and authentic, much like your experience will be with Catina as your North Star.
