We really enjoyed our time at Cactus House. Lava and Hazel are so very helpful. We did not have any plans or excursions booked when we checked in. Lava was super knowledgeable and helped us plan our entire week. The house is absolutely beautiful with amazing views and so very peaceful up there on the hill.Thank you so very much Rodger, Lava, and Hazel!

Roger, Hazel and Lava made the trip seamless. From the pre arrival booking, the communication was excellent. Transportation from the airport was quick and easy (even during Carnival!) and Hazel was there to explain everything immediately when we arrived. Lava was full of information about the island, Hazel was readily available for any question we had and Roger was super communicative even though he was off island. The house itself was even better than the pictures! The location was perfect for us because we wanted central island that was near good restaurants with sunset views. We Wow…did Cactus House deliver! We were close to several amazing beaches as well, but with the view from the pool, it was almost hard to go to the beach! It was a particularly hot time of year and they had already purchased extra fans for upstairs and all the sleeping areas had air con that worked perfectly. With the breezes that come through with the upstairs doors open, it was comfortable and enjoyable sitting up there playing games, watching the beautiful sunsets and just enjoying the peace! I highly recommend Cactus House for your family getaway. We had 7 people and everyone had more than enough room and loved every minute of our stay there. We loved Cactus House!

Roger was very responsive. The house was comfortable and clean with great views from the decks and pool. The location was close to numerous beaches, and while walkable, a car is very helpful to have. There are lots of stairs and a very steep driveway.

I really appreciate your comments regarding the comfort and cleanliness at the house- though obviously sorry you marked Cactus down a 'star' because of the driveway. However I think everyone agrees that the hillside location is a penalty worth paying for definitely, one of the best views in the Caribbean. My thanks, Roger

We stayed at the beginning of April 2026. The view from the property is stunning. Every vantage point gives you a perfect view of Jolly Harbour and the sea. It is a short distance from some of the most beautiful beaches in Antigua. Access to shopping and restaurants is as easy as walking across the street. The pool is very inviting and easily our favourite feature. Great options for shade on the patio as well. Rooms were very clean, comfortable and the bathrooms had plenty of hot water. The convenience of having laundry available to use is also a great feature. The host, Roger provided us with a very up to date information packet that was very helpful to us in planning our trip. I cannot recommend this property enough!

Roger was an excellent host. Very conscientious and accommodating. Communicated well - excellent welcome info package. The villa was beautiful - private, bright, sparkling clean, nicely appointed, well equipped. We LOVED the infinity pool. And the view was awesome! We would highly recommend this villa! NOTE: Entrance to the villa has a steep hill so may not be suited to those with mobility issues.

The complimentary airport transfers provided made for a stress-free start to our holiday. We found that the house had so much space and it’s clearly well maintained, modern, plus spotlessly clean. The pool and deck are just outstanding with stunning views over the Caribbean; sunsets over Monserat were an unbelievable bonus. The peaceful location is perfect for the splendid nearby beaches. You can walk to the large supermarket in Jolly harbour where there are a few shops and a good choice of evening restaurants.We are regular long-haul travellers, but without doubt this is the finest vacation property we have experienced anywhere. Recommended without hesitation !

Beautiful view on Jolly Harbor

Great location in Jolly Harbor area on a hill with great ocean views. It's really close proximity to several great beaches and has a nice kitchen an outdoor dining area for eating and relaxing in the evening. I would definitely recommend for those looking for a nice relaxing home rental in Antigua.

Amazing Stay

Our family had an amazing stay at Cactus House. Beautiful house with stunning views. Perfect location - lots of great restaurants and beaches. Roger and the house manager Hazel were very helpful hosts and made the stay lovely. Can’t wait to come back!

Cactus Heaven!

What a gorgeous place with a marvelous pool and view. Two couples and my mother in law enjoyed the house. Views out of this world and a great location close to multiple beaches, dining options etc. Not to be missed!

The view from the pool is one of my favorites in the world and I travel quite a bit. Everything was absolutely perfect. Hazel made sure we had everything we needed at all times. Roger was always there for recommendations and advice - though he was an ocean away. This is a beautiful property on an island that is magical!

Wonderful Stay with Spectacular Views

We had a fantastic time staying at Cactus. The house was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable, with absolutely spectacular views that we never got tired of. It was the perfect place to relax.Roger was extremely responsive and helpful from start to finish, making the whole process smooth and easy. Hazel was also friendly and welcoming during our stay, and Lava’s transportation to and from the airport worked perfectly.Everything about the experience was seamless. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic getaway.

A beautiful, spacious home with amazing views. My family was very happy with the accommodations. From coffee or cocktails on the balcony enjoying the spectacular views to a refreshing dip in the infinitely pool, we couldn’t have asked for a better vacation home. Confortable with beautiful view

This hillside house is tiered, which we found very pleasant, with the feeling of being isolated enough to fully enjoy the very pretty view over the bay. Very spacious too. The owner is extremely professional and very friendly. The person on site was very helpful.

The property was amazing, with views to die for. Immaculately clean and comfortable. The infinity swimming pool had the most amazing views over the ocean and jolly harbour. Roger the property owner had given every thought that went in to his information guide, from how to use everything in the house, and places to go, good choice of beaches to visit and what they have to offer, places to dine and so much more. Thankyou Roger for sharing your beautiful home with us we will take away so many special memories that we will be talking about for years to come.

Just fantastic!

Don’t even think twice about booking this place… just do it! Best rental we’ve ever had! The views, the property, the location the hospitality from Ms Hazel and Lava. The house has plenty of room (4 large clean bedrooms bathrooms) with massive living area and an incredible outdoor space. Plus everything you need to make yourself comfortable is right there. We didn’t want to leave and we can honestly say that we’ll be back. Thank you Roger and crew.

A week in paradise

We had an amazing time at The Cactus house. The view was amazing. The house was perfect. Only two things were not 5 star worthy. The barking dog next door and the steepness and roughness of the driveway. Otherwise we would highly recommend this house😊

Thank your kind comments on an ‘amazing ‘ stay at Cactus. Apparently children staying at the house below had a sensitive young puppy, and the steep access is necessary to get the spectacular vista - views which of course everyone raves about. I am awaiting the authorities to repair the road potholes cause by last year’s storms, but this is the Caribbean so don’t hold your breath!

Amazing view!!

We enjoyed our stay at Cactus house. We took the owner’s recommendation to use the taxi driver paid for as part of our stay and rented a car from Sunny’s Rentals. The vehicle was at the house once we arrived. Hazel checked us in and gave us a tour of the home. The infinity pool and view from the property is amazing. We spent most of our time on the second floor balcony while we were at the home. Communication with the owner and Hazel was always immediate and clear. It’s very close to Jolly Harbor and beautiful beaches such as Darkwood and Ffryers. I would highly recommend this property.

Amazing Villa

Group of 8 friends had a wonderful time at Cactus House. Prior to arrival, communication with Roger was great who provided detailed information about the house and local area. The pool area was perfect for sunbathing and enjoying the view over Jolly Harbour bay. The house is within walking distance of a number of restaurants, bars, a supermarket, and beaches. We particularly enjoyed Jolly Beach and the Pop-Up Beach Bar. Hazel was on hand throughout our stay to answer any questions we had and Lava was always on hand to take us to various trips about the island. Antigua is a beautiful island and I would fully recommend Cactus House to anybody looking for a spacious, well equipped villa.

Family vacation

We have stayed at many different houses throughout the Caribbean and the Cactus house has been the most well organized place we have stayed. Big Lava will pick you up and drop you off at the airport. Hazel was waiting at the house to show us around and to give us her contact info if any questions arose. Iris will have a rental car delivered to the property and we didn’t even have to return it when we were done they came and picked it up. Tracey across the street at Big head lobster prepared us incredible meals. Overall we felt very safe and had an amazing vacation. Lance

'Cactus House'.....so perfectly Caribbean

The whole house was immaculate and so spacious and had everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable holiday. The lower deck was perfect for sunbathing and the 'Infinity pool' was just amazing for cooling down while soaking up the the most incredible views over the Caribbean sea. Hazel was a lovely lady & so helpful with information on everything to use in house and places to visit. Thanks for the complimentary taxi you laid on for us from and back to the airport made, it made life so relaxing after the flight. Cactus House - Beautiful Views

Lovely 12 nights at Cactus House. Lava the driver was there to meet us from the airport and waited whilst we got provisions at local supermarket. He also put us in contact with Andy who arranged excursions for us. There were issues with the internet during our stay but Hazel the housekeeper contacted the provider FLOW to make sure it was sorted asap. Both Hazel and Lava were very helpful during our stay. The villa has beautiful views over Jolly Beach and is very spacious. Would recommend a car as after a long day at the beach it’s quite a climb up hill. Would stay at Cactus House if we visited Antigua again.

Amazing views and location

We had a wonderful time at Cactus house. The home was larger than we needed for our family of four, but we loved the photos and the location so we splurged. We were so glad we did. The views were amazing and we miss them already. The location is perfect and very close to many beautiful beaches. Literally a few minute drive away. Grocery store is just as close. The pool was refreshing after a warm day exploring the island. The bedroom ACs blew cold and we slept comfortably at night. House was fully stocked for our comfort. Roger and Hazel were a pleasure to work with. Overall I would highly recommend staying at cactus house. You will not be disappointed. Other things we recommend, get a Jeep, take the Jabberwocky private sailing day trip, go to Shirley heights for the bbq dinner and Carribean music. Hope to be back soon and would definitely stay at cactus house again.

Nice Stay

You will not be disappointed at Cactus House. Other reviews have mentioned the positives and I would agree with them all but I do want to emphasize how gorgeous the view is. Jolly Harbour is wonderful to watch from the pool area or the outdoor dining area. To attain that view however, the property does have to be situated high above the harbour leading to a steep driveway. It is hard to describe how steep it is but trust me, you will get used to it and do not let it discourage you from walking down to the water. Another fun fact that coffee drinkers will want to take note of- you will not find cream for your coffee at any restaurant/coffee shop- only milk. Creamer is available at the supermarket however. Overall I would highly recommend starting at this property when visiting Antigua.

Fantastic Villa

Cactus House is a wonderfully appointed, spacious villa, ideal for large parties. The situation is perfect. – perched on the hillside above Jolly Harbour it has spectacular views from the pool and terrace areas, day or night. However, these views come at a price as the climb up to the villa is very steep and can be difficult to negotiate in wet weather, at night or with bags of shopping. The supermarket at Jolly Harbour is within walking distance, but we quickly decided that a hire car was infinitely preferable to carrying shopping back up the hill. There are numerous bars and restaurants in the area and we tried most of them! The best one we found was Sheer Rocks which is located at the Coco Bay Resort, about a mile and a half from the villa. Overall we had a fabulously relaxing time at Cactus House and would highly recommend it to anyone. We would also like to thank Hazel and Lava for making us feel so welcome and at home. Hope to return soon.
