We spent an autumn week with great pleasure at ‘La Chevalerie’ in Somme-Leuze. The house is located on a beautiful, quiet location, looking out over a valley, and towards the village of Somme-Leuze. A great viewpoint, both from the beautiful green garden, as well as from the house, especially from one of the bedrooms (if you opened the curtains in the morning in that room, you had a really fantastic view, even from your bed, a wonderful way to wake up 😊). Beautiful green hills and forests surround the house everywhere. This is a great place to settle down/relax and escape the busy daily life. La Chevalerie is located on a quiet hilltop with fields around, (pleasantly) private (the closest house is a couple of minutes away by car) which is nice, has plenty of room to park cars and a large garden, and is largely at ground level (except for the cellar). The house is clean and well maintained, spacious (we spent the week with 7 people there but there was room for more). Before booking - we did read some older reviews, some of them (not all) quite negative, but still decided to take a chance (these reviews were from a couple of years back), luckily this turned out well for us because these problems have been resolved in the meantime, our experience was that the house is clean and well maintained. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. La Chevalerie has 2 bathrooms, one smaller one with a shower and a toilet, and one really large bathroom, with a large marble bath (which our kids enjoyed). Our kids also loved the cellar, where they amused themselves especially with table tennis (there was also a table soccer table, shuffleboard (sjoelbak) and a simple air hockey table and other things for kids to play). The house is located close to the regional hubs of Durbuy (very charming!) and Marche-en-Famenne with plenty of shops and opportunities for activities. But it is also surrounded by nice and beautiful areas for hikes/walks, which we enjoyed very much. While we were there, a problem occurred with the shower, but after calling the renting agency, it was almost immediately fixed by the contractor who works for the owner, he came by, was very helpful and friendly, and solved the issue almost immediately, so that was also very positive. As mentioned, the house is wonderful for a relaxing week, especially in good company, with family or friends. For those with a busy life, it is an excellent place to settle down and relax. I would very much recommend La Chevale

La Chevalerie is prachtig gelegen: het uitzicht is magnifiek en het huis is ontworpen om daar maximaal van te kunnen genieten. Heerlijk prive en rustig gelegen, met veel wandelmogelijkheden nabij. We hebben er optimaal van genoten. De pingpongtafel en overige spellen in de kelder waren een leuk onverwachte bonus. Het huis is netjes en redelijk schoon, alleen de keuken inventaris was wat rommelig en stond deels ook wat viezig in de kast. Het geheel heeft wel onderhoud en een moderniseringsslag nodig. Buitenmeubels zijn krakkemikkig en zonder kussens. Maar dat heeft ons vakantieplezier beslist niet gehinderd, want de locatie, de ruimte en de rust zijn perfect!

We hebben een enorm fijn verblijf gehad met 8 personen. De ligging van het huis is geweldig! Het uitzicht is adembenemend. Het huis is ruim en heeft prima kamers. En zeker een kamer, met grote ramen en eigen wastafel. Prijs kwaliteit komt overeen. Verwacht geen overbodige luxe, maar het is er een fijn thuis komen. Er is zelfs een sauna, die ik niet in de omschrijving terug kan vinden. In het souterrain is een fijne plek met spellen voor de kinderen. Pingpong/tafeltennis, air hockey, sjoelen. Een ruime keuken, waar we elke maaltijd genuttigd hebben, mooi uitzicht. Wellicht zou er wat aanvulling/vervanging qua pannen en servies handig zijn, maar de tips hebben we meegegeven Winkeltjes en restaurant op niet te ver afstand. Ook een hele fijne mooi biologische supermarkt! Nogmaals, prachtige woning! Fijne ligging, kind vriendelijk! Zeker voor kinderen vanaf 5 jaar Wij komen graag terug!!
