Coastal cottage with heated pool and gardens, 10 mins to beach

Our beautifully renovated cottage, and 3 adjoining cottages, plus shared family heated swimming pool (open from 2nd week June till end September), enjoy a secluded 3 acre garden, edged by a stream and woodland.

The open plan living space retains its oak beams and stone feature wall. It has a wood burner, electric heating, TV and WIFI, with glass doors overlooking the garden. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker, toaster, microwave. The shower room is very spacious and modern. Upstairs the double room has a stone feature wall, wardrobe and dressing table, the twin room has chest of drawers and under eave storage.

All furniture has been chosen with care and handpainted in a relaxed country style.

For heating there are electric radiators and wood is supplied for the wood burner free of charge.

We provide books, DVDs, games and personalised toy boxes to keep the kids occupied.

Beds are made, with high quality linen and towels are provided plus beach/pool towels.

The private garden has BBQ, seating, for 4, loungers, table&chairs for 4.

Lovely rural retreat

Nice and cosy 2 bed room flat with lovely garden and outside dining area. We took our small dog and it was ideal, as the garden had a gated area which kept him enclosed and happy. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and a lovely welcome gesture of a food and wine parcel was a nice touch. The hosts were great as we had a problem with TV and they immediately purchased a new one. The local town was 1km away and quite quiet but with a very well stocked supermarket. 10 mins to local quiet beach and 30 mins from the busier resort of Corzon (which had a great Wednesday market) every other week). We didn't use the pool as my shy teenage daughter was a little reticent to share it with the other younger families in the neighbouring properties. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic property in peaceful location !

We stayed in Les Hiboux for 2 weeks in early August with our 6 year old son. My mother joined us for our second week and shared the twin room with our son. The accommodation was perfect for us, it was spotless. Stewart and Tricia made us very welcome on arrival and were always available if we needed to ask anything. The cottage was well stocked and there was a generous complimentary supply of fresh produce (milk, butter, coffee, croissants, biscuits, vin rouge, bread etc.) on our arrival. We enjoyed relaxing in the garden behind Les Hiboux whilst our son was enjoying the swings and playing in the garden. We used the BBQ on several occasions. The swimming pool was perfect for us and we all enjoyed it. We traveled by ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo overnight. We were amazed how quiet the roads were from St Malo to the cottage. We stopped at Quintin, approx 90 mins from St Malo, a nice village with ample parking near the church, a playground, and of course a handy boulangerie ! The lovely sandy beaches near the cottage were virtually empty until the locals arrived around 3-4pm. It was perfect. We ate at both L'Ane Rouge and Le Kreiz-Ker in Plomodiern and enjoyed their plats du jours. We also ate at Le Grand Bleu twice as we liked it so much. We were fortunate to see the annual Fete du Menez-Hom in Plomodiern where the locals dressed in traditional clothing and danced, sang and played music processing around the town. We enjoyed our holiday so much that we have already booked to return in 2018 with friends.

Gemütliches Ferienhaus in ruhiger, idyllischer und gleichzeitig zentraler Lage

Familienfreundliche, gemütliche Ferienunterkunft mit schönen Stränden, Ausflugszielen und viel Natur in unmittelbarer Umgebung. Tricia und Stewart sind sehr aufmerksame und freundliche Gastgeber, die stets um das Wohlbefinden der Gäste bemüht sind und mit wertvollen Ratschlägen den Aufenthalt noch angenehmer machen wollen. Besonders überrascht waren wir vom tollen Willkommenspaket, das wir so noch nie erlebt haben. Insgesamt ein herrlich erholsamer Aufenthalt in einem geschmack- und liebevoll eingerichteten Ferienhaus. Vielen Dank für die wunderschönen 14 Tage.

Idylle auf dem Land

Sehr hübsches kleines Landgut mit 3 Einheiten/ Häusern. Direkt in der Natur. Absolute Ruhe. Schöner kleiner beheizter Pool in typischen Steinmauern. Der Gastgeber Stewart ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wenige Autominuten zum Dorf mit guten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und 10 Minuten Fahrt zu schönen Stränden. Empfehlung!

Great location in Brittany for exploring

We had a great 9-night stay in Brittany - the location of the house is perfect for exploring lots of local beaches and boulangeries (our favourite was Pain d’Annette!). The check in process was super easy and Stewart was a great host, helping us with recommendations for the local vet ahead of our stay, greeting us at the property after we got in around 10pm and leaving us a lovely welcome pack, and during our stay, when he was very friendly and attentive, bringing more dishwasher tablets and helping us with wood for the log burner which was great. The house pretty much had everything we needed, and overall we had a comfortable stay, though it is a little tired. The bed in the main room was very squeaky, the doors to the garden are a little difficult to manage and there are a lot of weeds in the garden, and although the shower pressure and hot water was great, the shower itself is tired-looking and the shower head kept falling out of its holder. I think there was meant to be a bbq but there wasn’t one in the garden. It was also requested in the house book that we needed to clean the house and hoover and mop before we left - which I think was a bit of a cheeky request, and should’ve been mentioned in the listing. Overall, we had a great holiday though - thanks for having us to stay!

Großartige Location

Toller Hof, schön renoviert, Pool genial, Meer nicht weit, viele schöne Strände in der Nähe. Kayak de mer in Crozon möglich, menhire in der Nähe zu besichtigen, Brest 45 Minuten, quimper ebenfalls. Sehr empfehlenswert!!

Traumhafte Ferien in einem tollen Haus

Fantastic place

We recently stayed at Stewert and Tricia’s place and it was everything we had hoped for. Lovely clean house, amazing location, and fantastic facilities. The pool is lovely and a great way to relax at the end of a busy day. We were also impressed by the additional thought that had gone into catering for children, such as a slide and swing set, a trampoline, football net and table tennis facilities. These additional touches also went into ensuring our stay was as nice and relaxing as possible; providing coal for BBQ’s, towels for the pool, a welcome breakfast pack etc. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends!

Schönes Ferienhaus in ruhiger und idyllischer Lage

Wir verbrachten eine Woche im kleinen Paradies von Stewart und Tricia. Das Haus ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet, die Küche sehr gut ausgestattet und der Garten sehr idyllisch mit vielen Spielgeräten für Kinder. Auch das beheizte Schwimmbecken ist klasse. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Alles war perfekt! Thank you for everything!

La maison du bonheur

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour dans le gîte les hiboux. Le gîte est conforme aux photos, même mieux car il y a un petit jardin privé avec un salon de jardin. Nous avons eu un coup de cœur pour la région et les alentours du gîte sont aussi agréables pour se balader. Stewart a été adorable et très disponible pour répondre à toutes nos questions ! Merci beaucoup et bravo pour ce gîte où on se sent bien !

Très bon séjour

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable. Le gîte est calme, bien équipé et propre. Dans la cuisine nous avons trouvé le nécessaire de base pour la cuisine et même pour le premier petit-déjeuner. Un petit jardin clos très agréable et le jardin partagé tout à fait adapté aux enfants. L'accès à la piscine était sécurisé pour les petits.

Great Family-Cottage

First of all, Stuart and Tricia are lovely hosts. From the welcome package including cereals, bread, milk, wine, coffee etc. up to answering every question and solving every issue that occured to our absolute satisfaction without ever beeing intrusive in any way. The cottage is in perfect condition, very cozy, clean and comfortable. Anything you could be in need of is provided. From kitchen stuff to fireplace utils. A very nice garden is part of the place where every child (and dog ;) ) can play without worries. The surroundings are is very calm and the town of Plomodiern offers options to buy anything you need for your stay. The wunderful Lestrevet Beach is literally just 10 Minutes drive away. We enjoyed beeing there very much. Also this place is a good starting point for visiting other places in Finistere. We would definitively recommend going there. Thanks a lot and best regards. David

Séjour au calme

La maison (nous avons séjourné aux hiboux) est parfaitement équipée. Les rénovations sont faites avec goût et l'endroit est charmant. La piscine est très agréable Les propriétaires sont très aimables et dispos si besoin. Les mesures covid sont respectées et prises au sérieux. L'endroit est isolé dans un hameau à la campagne.

Excellent séjour!

Malgré tous les problèmes avec le Covid-19 , nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Plomodiern. Toutes les mesures étaient prises et Tricia et Stewart ont tout fait pour qu'on ne manque de rien (Petit-déjeuner pour le 1er matin). Le gîte se situe dans un endroit trés calme et la piscine est juste super!!! Nous allons y retourner une fois le virus parti pour mieux connaître les propriétaires! Renaud , Jennifer et Océane

Originally from Jersey, we have lived in Plomodiern with our two little girls for three years. We fell in love with the beautiful, uncrowded beaches and unspoilt coastline which we found in the area, and decided to live here permanently. We have made friends and enjoy a peaceful way of life, making the most of the wonderful beaches when work permits. We truly feel we have found a little slice of heaven!

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We love Plomodiern because of its accessability to a whole number of stunning beaches, the nearest of which is just a ten minute drive away on roads that are guaranteed traffic jam free! There is a different beach for every mood: surfing, swimming, rockpooling, kayaking, or you can seek out the little coves accessed only by narrow cliffpaths if you prefer.
We are also within easy reach of the busier beaches on the south coast, such as Pont Aven and Concarneau, for a daytrip, though we always breath a sigh when we get back home to our little idyl!
In summer, our village hosts traditional weekly Breton dances and a vibrant market day, plus the wonderful fete de Menez Hom in August, when visitors from the whole of Brittany wear their local costumes and dance through the streets.

With so many unspoilt beaches on our doorstep, find a beach for every mood: swimming, surfing, rockpooling, or discovering little coves. Our gite will suit all who enjoy exploring those havens off the beaten track.
For a daytrip, choose the more touristic beaches at Pont Aven, Concarneau, or Audiern, all just over an hour away. We will provide beach towels and parasols to make packing easier.
Alternatively, relax at the poolside or enjoy our tranquil gardens, which are edged by a pretty stream where kids can potter, and bordered by trees and a small woodland area. We provide sunloungers and barbecues for al fresco eating in luxury. Plenty of outdoor equipment is available plus swings and a trampoline and soft archery, and for the little ones, bikes for supervised cycling, toys and cot/highchair/buggy/carseat.
We have built a heated swimming pool within the walls of one of our beautiful ruined, roofless buildings. A terrace is available at the poolside for sunbathing, screened from other buildings by hedging and shrubbery.
