NEW: The House

The house is situated within 1 acre grounds. There are large lawned areas. The property is in a beautiful setting with quiet lanes ideal for cycling and walking. There is also a gite in the grounds. The properties are some distance apart and have completely separate patio areas table, chairs, loungers, etc.

The swimming pool
The pool is 11mx5.5m; 1m at the shallow end and 2.2m at the deep end.
The pool has security fencing all around with a locking gate. It will be maintained for you on a daily basis. There are inflatable toys, etc, The pool is full from June to the beginning of September and is on the basis that it is shared by the gite and house.

We enjoyed the swimming pool. Nice pool, in the garden of the house, perfect hidden from the street. A nice terrace to eat breakfast and diner. Bedsheet and towels available. Beds were already made up. 1km walk you have a bakkery. Older house, but with charm. No airco. Internet connection is poor. Very relax holiday

Fijne vakantie woning in mooie en rustige omgeving

Het was een goed verblijf. Het huis ligt op een mooie rustige plek in een mooie omgeving, maar drukke plekken en stranden zijn ook zeker snel te bereiken. (/- 20 min) De bakker zat op 10 minuten loopafstand en is elke dag geopend. Het omheinde zwembad was ook zeker een pluspunt. Het enige minpunt was de wifi die wat haperde. We waren blij verrast toen we aankwamen want de foto's van de advertentie komen niet helemaal overeen met de werkelijkheid. Dit huisje is zeker een aanrader voor gezinnen met kinderen. De eigenaren waren ook erg aardig en behulpzaam.Groet van ons

Too short a stay!

Regrettably our plans did not work out as we had hoped and we had to shorten our stay at this property. However, the house was in a delightful (very) rural location; the swimming pool was very welcome after a hot day's sightseeing in Saintes!

Great holiday

The bungalow was as described and was very spacious. It was surrounded by a very large gardens. It was very well fitted out with excellent furniture and fittings. We had a great holiday and would certainly recommend this property

Excellent

Séjour très agréable, maison spacieuse dans un cadre très calme. Très beau salon de jardin avec barbecue. La piscine est très propre. Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques tout en restant discrets. Nous avons apprécié la proximité de la plage ( 25 mn) et la beauté de la région.

A pleasant home

We had a good time in this house with spacious garden and swimming pool. We were a bit unlucky with the weather, otherwise we might not have even left the property. The house has everything you need. The village is rural and therefore often about 20-30 minutes away from activities. A bakery is within walking distance, the rest by car. We found very hospitable and friendly hosts.

Superbe environnement, quelques améliorations à prévoir dans la maison

L’endroit est magnifique, la villa très agréable avec son jardin et sa piscine, on ne sent pas la présence des autres locataires, ceux du gîte ni des propriétaires. Quelques rénovations seraient à prévoir dans la maison notamment la chasse d’eau assez récalcitrante. Mais Linda et Steven sont adorables et on dort tellement bien dans cette maison! Je recommande

Location très agréable.

Il s'agit d'une très belle propriété avec un immense terrain. La maison est grande, confortable et bien équipée.. Beau salon de jardin tout proche d'un grand bassin . La piscine, de belles dimensions, est à proximité, l'eau y est propre et claire, les propriétaires s'en occupent quotidiennement. Linda et Stephen sont charmants et très accueillants.

Wonderful house in an idilic location

We loved our stay in this beautiful house where we enjoyed the sunshine coming through the windows, the clean pool and large garden whith designated space for badmington, table tennis uneder the trees, our own BBQ area with soft furniture. Linda and Stephen are grate hosts, they offered bikes for our boys to ride in the quiet country lanes surrounding the property and have always been there to help with suggestions on places to go from the huge supermarket only 6 minutes drive away to the costal towns with lovely beaches and ports where we could eat out. It is a very tranquil setting, that you don't feel the need to leave, but if you do there's a lot to do in the area. We are grateful we found this house at the very last minute and for the very prompt respond from our hosts.

As expected

We looked for a quiet place, away (but not too far ...) from crowded touristic sites. This house totally matches that. The pool is great. Our hosts are easy to found and friendly. We found the fridge a bit small for six, balanced by the attached freezer. And we feel a slight lack of privacy due to hearing a little to much what is happening in other rooms. Finally we have a really good stay

très bien

Nous avons passé une très belle semaine, au calme dont nous avions besoin. Il a fait très chaud et nous avons profité d'une piscine impeccable qui est entretenue par le propriétaire matin et soir. L'intérieur de la maison reste bien frais, ce qui est vraiment appréciable lors d'une canicule. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut pour cuisiner, casseroles et poêles en bon état. Les draps de lit sont jolis. Le mobilier est dans le style ancien mais tout est récent et en parfait état, propreté nickel. Propriétaires fort sympathiques et à l'écoute. A recommander.

Belle maison, confort, simplicité, piscine agréable, dans une belle région. Les propriétaires sont très charmants et attentifs à nos demandes. Un séjour à la fois relaxant et sportif, détendu et culturel. On en redemande bien volontiers !

Quiétude, beau cadre intérieur et extérieur, villa spacieuse

Nous avons passé d'agréables vacances chez Linda et Stephen. Et nous y reviendrons :-) La location se situe dans le village de Cravans et est à 5 min. de la ville de Gémozac. L'environnement direct est calme, repos à l'ordre du jour. La villa est spacieuse (peut accueillir 6 personnes), et bien équipée. Le jardin est très agréable et bien agrémenté. Piscine de très belle taille, avec transats et protection solaire sous forme de tonnelle. Parcours et matériel de cricket, et différentes zones de jeux (badminton, etc). La terrasse extérieure de la villa est plein sud, nous avons demandé un second parasol car nous ne nous exposons pas spécialement directement au soleil. Barbecue, table et chaises ainsi qu'un confortable salon de jardin agrémentent cette terrasse. Sans oublier un bel étang et des plantations auprès desquels il est plaisant de flâner dès le petit matin et jusqu'à tard le soir à observer les étoiles, et d'y prendre ses repas. La propriété a également un bungalow pour 4 personnes mis à la location. Stephen est à l'écoute de vos demandes. Si vous connaissez un peu l'anglais (kit de survie),c'est un plus mais la langue parlée par nos hôtes n'est pas une barrière. Sans hésitation, nous y retournerons. Alors si nous devions soulever un bémol, ce serait peut-être la taille du frigo qui est petit pour accueillir 6 personnes (nous étions 4). En période de fortes chaleurs, si vous aimez vos boissons fraîches et ne pas faire des courses tous les jours, c'est un peu petit (frigo table encastré). Il y a un congélateur de la même taille que le frigo (largement suffisant). A proximité : A Cravans, il y a le restaurant "Le Petit Gourmand", que nous conseillons, c'est EXCELLENT des produits frais et faits maison à un rapport qualité/prix imbattable. Nous le conseillons vivement. Vous trouvez également une boulangerie. A Gémozac, tous commerces (grandes surfaces, magasin bio, boulangeries, restaurant "Le Lion d'Or" -que nous recommandons également-, pizzeria (pas essayées mais bon échos), .... Bref tout ce qu'il faut pour passer de bonnes vacances sans devoir faire des kilomètres pour les courses alimentaires ou une sortie restaurant. C'est la troisième année que nous allons en vacances sur la zone de Gémozac, c'est la première fois chez Linda et Stephen......... et pas la dernière. Merci pour l'accueil

Very well-equipped house in a lovely location

We have recently returned from a great week in Cravans. We stayed in the larger house (3 bedrooms), which is very comfortable and well-equipped. The other house on the site has a separate access and there are private sitting-out areas - when both are being used you cannot see each other. The two properties can be rented separately or together if available. It's an excellent lay-out. We enjoyed a mixture of relaxing times (reading, eating outside, walking the lanes with our dog) and exploring the local area including the coast, which is nearer than I realised, with nice views along the Gironde estuary and beaches, only about half an hour's drive away.

A little corner of tranquillity

We had a relaxing two week stay. Stephen and Linda were very welcoming. There is lots to see and do around the local area. The pool was perfect and the garden beautiful. We had a lovely holiday and would highly recommend. The Gould family August 2017

Enjoyable stay with friends and family

Overall, the house and the gite are set in a lovely, well-manicured garden. The pool is a great size and kept beautifully clean. The kitchens of both properties are well equipped with quantities of cutlery and crockery, the living area spacious and airy, though the gite had a tendency to overheat, being in a dip with little in the way of breeze. I think the fact that our friends stayed in the gite while the two couples of my family stayed in the house made a few of the glitches less important. Each property has a barbecue, but the small one at the house is in full sun till late in the evening. The larger, shady barbecue is next to the gite, next to the shaded seating area. If two unconnected families were using the two properties, it may have been awkward for the house occupants to use the supposedly communal seating and cooking area. An additional umbrella in the pool area would have been useful - it was quite cosy when all seven of us wanted to enjoy the pool in the shade. Perhaps more of an issue with two separate sets of tennants. We have always found in the past that in properties in areas where the weather can become very hot, fans have been provided in all bedrooms. This would have been beneficial for our two weeks of late 20's, mid 30's weather (and only June at this stage!). It was a particular problem for our friends in the gite. We have found that it is also the norm to be issued with clean towels and bedding after the first week. We would have laundered our own, but the advertised washing machine is actually situated in the owners' basement, under the house, so while in theory available, it makes it rather awkward and inconvenient. However, we did very much enjoy the area, with lots to see and do and reasonable restaurants at no great distance.

Amazing Holiday

The gite is lovely and well equipped. Outside there is a lovely patio and grassed areas and a solid oak sit-outery. The setting is amazing and the region is incredible.

LOvely realxing place to stay

We love coming to stay at Cravans, so much so we have now had 5 holidays here. There is so much to see and do in the area. We are still finding new places to visit. The house is well equipped and clean, fantastic pool and garden. Linda, Stephen and family couldn't be more welcoming. Great area to cycle as a family, lovely beaches and lots of lovely towns and villages to explore. The local bakery is easy to walk to and sells delicious breads and tasty treats. Thank you Linda and Stephen. We look forward to plenty more holidays at your house, the kids wont go anywhere else!

Relaxing luxury in the French countryside!

We had a lovely weeks stay in Linda and Stephens house this year! The property was easy to find using a sat nav and we were met by the family who were more than willing to give us lots of tips and information about the local places to visit! The house was spacious for me my wife and our 2 children and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay! The pool is fantastic and kept really clean every day by the owners, the kids loved it and both got on really well with the other families children who were staying in the gite while we were there! There's some lovely places to visit and you could quite easily stay for more than a week. Super u hyper market is in easy driving distance to stock up the house with drink and food also. So for a relaxing quiet holiday in a superb region of France you really can't go wrong! Thank you for a memorable time 🏊🌞☀️

fabulous french fun in the sun

We enjoyed a great holiday at Laurette in the French countryside .A great spot to relax and enjoy typical French scenery , a short walk to the boulangerie a car ride to nearby Gemozac .We enjoyed the pool and the coast has safe swimming at Royan and more adventurous can enjoy amazing waves at Cote sauuvage.The accommodation was comfortable and well equipped for self catering like home..Linda, Steven and the girls were very welcoming and helpful with anything we needed.We have good memories of a fun sunny ,relaxing holiday. We would reccommend this property to family and friends
