Thanks for a replenishing week!

Wonderful secluded place. The mill has been turned into a great place to stay at and relax, to have a good vacation and to wind down. The little river by the house gave our kids a fun place to cool down alongside the pool. The kitchen is minimalistic, but the surrounding area offers enough great places to eat authentic Italian food. Communications with the owner were fast and easy.

Paradise!

The house and surroundings are amazing. There is complete privacy. My kids (15, 11 and 8) had the time of their life. They especially loved the pool and the huge garden. The owners Sandro and Jane were really lovely and mailed us great suggestions for local restaurants and shops before we even arrived. I would very much recommend this house if you like nature and privacy. We would love to come back!

A 360° Paradise

Wow! We kept looking around wondering how we got to heaven on earth. Agree with the reviewer that said the interior needs updating. Even just some new rugs, a couch and removal of musty books would make a big difference. BUT the outside space was so very gorgeous that I instantly forgot about anything inside. Sitting on the terrace there are trees every direction you look. There is the most beautiful waterfall with a pool at the bottom perfect for swimming. The teens were so happy the whole time! There is a smaller creek to one side of the garden, multiple sitting areas in the garden and the river fed swimming pool. We were in love and wished we could buy it and live there forever. Thank you so much for sharing your property with us and making it available on Vrbo.

Ein Stück vom Paradies

Die alte Mühle ist ein unglaublich schöner und erholsamer Ort. Wir haben dort eine Woche Urlaub mit der Familie gemacht und diesen sehr genossen. Das Gründstück ist großzügig und direkt am Bach inkl. Gumpen gelegen. Großartig für alle, die Ruhe und ynatur lieben.

Wow, welch wundervoller Ort!

Die Mühle ist sehr stilvoll renoviert und bietet im Außenbereich ganz besondere Sitzplätze mit tollen Blicken in die reizvolle Landschaft sowie einem leckeren Gemüse- & Kräuterbeet. Die kleine Küche war super durchdacht, mit tollem Topf- und Pfannensortiment. Wir haben hier alle sehr gern gekocht oder auf der Terrasse gegrillt. Toll für größere Kinder ist die Lage direkt am Wasserfall mit Gumpe zum Hineinspringen. Der Weg hinunter zum Gebirgsbach ist etwas mühsam und matschig für Erwachsene. Der Pool ist unglaublich erfrischend und bei warmen Temperaturen super angenehm zum Schwimmen und Toben. Die Schlafzimmer sind liebevoll eingerichtet und total gemütlich, der Wohnbereich teilweise museal mit Mühleninventar belassen, was toll aussieht und rustikal wirkt. Die ganze Familie war begeistert vom einzigartigen Ambiente der Mühle und der Ruhe und Wildheit der Natur.

Ein besonderer Ort

Zu Viert verlebten wir Mitte September eine schöne erholsame Woche im besonderen Flair der alten Ölmühle. Die Innenausstattung ist geschmackvoll und funktional. Carlo ist sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend. Der Außenbereich lädt zum Entspannen ein. Man ist mitten in der Natur. Uneingeschränkte Weiterempfehlung!

Wenn es um's Entspannen geht, ist die Adresse perfekt. In ca. 15 Fahrminuten befinden sich etliche und zum Teil hervorragende Restaurants, so dass die süsse kleine Küche nicht immer benötigt wird.

Natur pur!!!!

Wir fanden die Old Mill super schön und spannend. Der Aussenbereich ist traumhaft und dank dem schönen Wetter haben wir ihn voll genutzt. Da der Pool mit herlichem Bachwasser gespeist wird, ist es zunächst eine Überwindung, aber wenn man erst mal drin ist, super klares Wasser und ein Vergnügen. Die Lage war für uns 3 Frauen einerseits sehr entspannend aber auch etwas zu abgelegen. Das nächste Dorf Pigna ist abends im Dunkeln auf Grund der Straßenverhältnisse und auch Entfernung nicht zu erreichen. Zu dem hatten wir abends im Garten tierischen Besuch...Füchse und Wildschweine besuchten uns und meine Freundinnen waren total begeistert. Old Mill ist sehr gepflegt, mit Liebe hergerichtet worden und schreibt Geschichte. Im Garten haben wir uns mit frischen Kräutern, Zuchini, Aubergine und Tomaten für´s Kochen versorgt. Zum Meer sind es mit dem Auto 40 min und leider haben wir keinen Sandstrand gefunden. Die Vermieter haben uns gute Tips gegeben und waren immer per Whats app ansprechbar. Wir sind absolute Italienfans und auch Kundige und waren sehr traurig und erschrocken über den Verfall der Dörfer rundherum der Old Mill. Dolceaqua hat uns mit der Altstadt und seinen Cafes sehr gefallen. Bordighera war auch nett zum Bummeln. Ein Auto ist schon notwendig, wenn man das weitere Umfeld erkunden möchte. Wenn man jung und sportlich ist, spricht auch nichts gegen Rennrad oder E-Bike. Spülmaschine hat uns überhaupt nicht gefehlt!! Und da die Küche doch recht klein und schnuckelig ist, haben wir es sehr genossen uns das Kochen und den Küchendienst zu teilen. Der Bach, die Berge, die Natur, die Einsamkeit und die Stille rund ums Haus haben sehr, sehr hohen Erholungswert.

Bijzondere plek

Heel bijzondere plek met heerlijk afgesloten tuin en lekker fris zwembad. Sandro was een geweldige host, die ons zelfs op zondagochtend kwam helpen toen we een probleem hadden. We hebben een heerlijke week gehad samen met onze 2 labradors. Voor hen was er 50 m verderop een heel mooie zwempoel met superhelder water.

Stilte van een vallei

Compleet tot rust komen in de vallei, op de achtergrond het geluid van een waterval pal naast het huis waar het trouwens heerlijk zwemmen is. Geen Wifi, geen afwasmachine en geen oven én toch een heerlijke vakantie gehad!

Mega, einfach grandios. Perfekter Ort um runter zu fahren. Mitten in der Natur ein fantastisches Anwesen mit einer grandiosen Unterkunft mit allem was man braucht. 30 min zum Meer. Und Sehenswerten Dörfern. Grandios freundliche Vermieter. Immer Hilfsbereit und zuverlässig. Wir haben nichts negatives zu berichten.

Excellent stay in magic place

The position of the old mill is enchanting: perfect for a relaxing holiday in a sunny, magical valley. Two small villages (Castel Vittorio and Pigna) are 15 mins away by foot, if you need to ensure you are still in the 21st century. We will try to come back as soon as possible.

Un havre de paix

Nous avons passé une semaine en famille (3 enfants et un chien) dans Un lieu incroyable entouré d’une nature époustouflante. Le potager a notre disposition à ravi nos papilles et la fraîcheur des bassins nous a permis de supporter de grosses chaleurs. Une belle découverte et un accueil chaleureusement italien.

Le moulin est très jolie et agréable ! Une rivière se trouve juste derrière le moulin ou on peut y accéder et découvrir des paysages magnifiques. Le seul hic de la maison c’est que l’eau de la piscine n’est pas chauffé.

Proprietà bellissima appena sopra a Pigna, casa immersa nella natura e nel relax dove poter fare tranquille passeggiate e godersi le piscine naturali che si formano lungo il percorso della sorgente. E a mezz’ora di automobile siete comunque al mare. Un immenso grazie a Sandro per l’accoglienza e la simpatia (e per il suo olio buonissimo)

Idyllic hidden gem

Amazing location near the river. Adventurous for kids ( > 6 ). Village Pigna 2 min drive, with 3 bars, few restaurants. We can recommend Osteria Martini strongly. The garden of the mill, at the river, is very idyllic and has a wonderful atmosphere. The mill/house itself has everything you need. But in my opinion it was not very clean. That might be a point of improvement. Overall, a very unique spot!!! And a very friendly host!!!!

Un petit coin de paradis

This is the perfect getaway! An old mill, ideally situated in a wooded valley, nestled between the Mediterranean sea and the mountains, surrounded by flowing, calming water and luscious greenery. Lots to do in the surrounding area or just relax and enjoy this magical location and property, with its shaded terrace, beautiful garden with a well stocked vegetable patch and the refreshing river fed swimming pool. It doesn’t get much better than this, everything is there, and all you have to do is enjoy it. Thank you Neil and Sandro, we will be back!

Perfect peaceful holiday

This was our second stay at the old mill, we liked it so much the first time, we just had to come back! It is a little piece of paradise, the location is so peaceful, but you can still walk into Pigna for a coffee or a beer. Everything is very clean and homely, the beds are comfortable, and lots of towels etc. The best thing is the outside space and the pool. We ate outside most evenings, and used the pool every day. Being beside the river, you can spot wildlife and birds, all from your lounger. Lots of lovely little villages within a few miles drive, the local food is great too. We went to Risorante Terme one evening, the food is outstanding. Thanks for sharing this beautiful place with us!

Ultimate get away from it all break.

Our stay at the Old Mill was full of both relaxation and adventure! The property is very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for a week. Great to meet Neil on arrival who gave us a tour of the Mill and told us a bit about it’s history. We were extremely grateful of the freshwater spring fed pools which were perfect for our 6 and 10 year old children and we had some fantastic adventures exploring the river line below the Mill catching tiny fish and swimming in the beautiful clear, clean water. Shopping is easy in Camporosso be sure to stock up before you arrive. We made the short trip via train from Ventimiglia to Monaco one day which was really easy with plenty of car parking around the station. Thank you Neil and to your dad Sandro for meeting us on Arrival and departure. Hope to be back to explore more again one day!!
