Panoramic apartment in private residence with pool, just 10 minutes from the sea

The apartments are located in a private residence in Santa Maria di Castellabate, about half a mile (900 meters) from the seaside, with a panoramic view of the surrounding area. The Residence is bordered by the Cilento National Park and near the seaside park of Punta Licosa. The apartments include a large living room with kitchenette, two bedrooms and a bathroom. They are tastefully furnished and each has a large private terrace overlooking the sea, complete with umbrella, table, and lounge chairs. Apartments include air conditioning, lcd TV and are located in a private complex with automatic gate, parking and a common picnic area furnished with tables, benches and a barbecue. You can also enjoy free wireless Internet access and a large common swimming pool (21*7 meters - with a new kid's pool for the enjoyment of all the family at large!) open from May 29th to Sept 18th. Let me add just one last thing: we live in one of the villas next to the apartment so any kind of problem you may experience, you will be just a few paces to its solution!

The Cilento National Park: The Cilento National Park has been recognised by the UNESCO since 1998 as part of the World Heritage with the following justification: “The Cilento is an outstanding cultural landscape. The dramatic groups of sanctuaries and settlements along its three east–west mountain ridges vividly portray the area's historical evolution: it was a major route not only for trade, but also for cultural and political interaction during the prehistoric and medieval periods. The Cilento was also the boundary between the Greek colonies of Magna Graecia and the indigenous Etruscan and Lucanian peoples. The remains of two major cities from classical times, Paestum and Velia, are found there (…) as well as the impressive monastic property of the Certosa di San Lorenzo in Padula”.

Castellabate sea: In Castellabate you will also enjoy a high quality sea that is internationally awarded, with a wonderful fragmented coasts as well as beautiful fine sand beaches. In 2009 Castellabate has been awarded once again the Blue Flag. The Blue Flag is an exclusive eco-label based on strict criteria dealing with water quality, environmental education and information, environmental management, and safety and other services.

What to see...: Finally you have to know that in a one day trip from Castellabate you can enjoy well known places as Positano and the Amalfi Coast, Naples, Pompeii, Capri or Sorrento.

Residence ben strutturato e ben posizionato

Residence essenziale (non ci sono servizi al di là della piscina). Abbiamo apprezzato la posizione, fuori dal paese ma facilmente accessibile anche a piedi e soprattutto con vista mare a 180’.

Excellent!

Lovely place! Castellabate and the beach are a 5-10 minutes walk from the appartmentents. The appartments got all you need, the hosts are really friendly and the pool area is clean and big enough for all the guests. We will come back! /Swedish family

Gute Ausganslage

Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt. Die Kücheneinrichtung war aber teilweise defekt und nur begrenzt einsetzbar. Klimagerät gut und die Wohnung gut gereinigt und gepflegt. Wifi funktionierte meist nicht. Pool war sauber und gepflegt. Die Anlage war recht sicher.

Appartement avec des plus et des moins

Les plus : grande terrasse, peu de vis à vis, belle vue sur la baie, grande piscine, bon accueil du propriétaire et proche du centre ville (10 min à pied). Les moins : appartement un peu vieillot placé au dessus d'une route passante : bruit de fond continu dérangeant sur la terrasse.

Excellent, quiet and clean

This is a great apartment, clean and with a huge balcony with an outstanding seaview. The owners were very helpful with information prior to arriving and excellent welcome when we did arrive. Pool area was superb as we had a 9 year old with us. It was lovely and quiet which we were looking for and ticked all the boxes Thank you

A wonderful time!

I stayed with my family in the apartment in July 2010. We had a wonderful time. The area is really beautiful - both the coast and the Cilento park. Our apartment was good, it included everything we needed for our stay - and the terrace with a breathtaking view over the Mediterranean was simply the best! Unforgettable sun-sets... The pool and the area around it was really nice - our sons could have spent their whole vacation there. They also made some new friends with other guests. De Santis family was really nice and helpful, we got good tips and advice from them about the boats, restaurants etc - making our stay very pleasant. There is so much to see in the area that we could only see a little glimps of it in a week. We visited for example Pompeiji, Capri and the Cilento park and they were all amazing and definitely worth visiting. Driving around was easy, but sometimes time consuming, so there's only so much you can see during one day. Luckily, you can just walk from the apartment to Santa Maria di Castellabate, so you don't always need a car. We enjoyed our holiday very much, so I would definitely recommend this location for families and couples.

An Excellent Holiday

I stayed in one of the apartmants with my husband and 8 year old daughter. They are very spacious and perfectly comfortable with the most wonderful views across to Capri and the Amalfi coast. We saw some beautiful sunsets from the balcony which also looks down on the fabulous swimming pool which our daughter loved. Santa Maria is a lovely little town and the locals are very friendly. The beach is great and the sea is fairly shallow for some distnace so great for kids. I would thoroughly recommend this area and these aprtments for a fab, relaxing holiday in a beautiful environment.

An enjoyable stay!

My family and I stayed in one of the apartments of the villa for two weeks in August 2009. Prior to arriving, I received friendly and informative information about the area and directions to the apartment. This was our first visit to the area and our first time of driving in Italy, so the directions were particularly appreciated. The villa is in a stunning location with beautiful views over the coastline. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment that was light and airy and overlooked the pool and out towards the sea. We spent a number of days relaxing by the pool, enjoying the sunshine and in the evenings tried the various restaurants in the town, Santa Maria di Castellabate. Our favourite restaurant was La Marina (half way through the town on the left) where we visited four times during our two week stay. The apartment was brilliantly situated for exploring the area and we were fascinated by Pompeii, Paestum, San Marco and Amalfi. Pompeii and Paestum were absolutely magnificent. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday - many thanks!

Excellent stay

The villa is just beautiful, a gem in the small town. The family owners and staff are very helpful and welcoming. I was warmly welcomed though I arrived late at night. While there, you can merely sit by the pool and enjoy the neverending sunshine or walk 5 minutes to check out the town and beach. Typically Italian, and therefore perfect for a Napolian holiday.

Well worth the visit :-)

We have just returned home after 2 weeks staying in one of the 2 bed apartments and we had a wonderful holiday. The apartments are basic but very adequate, very clean and well-maintained. The owner was very helpful and always on hand if required (although doesnt speak English so Italian or French comes in handy!) The pool is great with plenty of chairs/recliners. The best thing about the apartments are the balconies which look out over the sea with a view of Capri and the Amalfi coast on a clear evening. Sitting on the balcony watching the sunset was one of the highlights of the holiday. There are plenty of places to visit locally - the town of S Maria is about a 10 min walk away with lots of shops and restaurants. Castellabate is worth a visit especially at sunset, spectacular views. Pompeii, Paestum, Amalfi Coast, Capri all worth a visit (although Amalfi Coast is quite a drive, not for the faint-hearted!) All in all, a lovely place to stay - highly recommended.

An inspired choice!

We went to Italy to be at my niece's wedding in Ravello, an hour away from where we stayed in Santa Maria de Castellabate. It was an inspired choice and we enjoyed the hospitality, the environment around the villa de Santis - especially the lovely and nightly cleaned swimming pool - as well as the region all, in almost equal measure. The views from the balcony were wonderful and the closeness to the pretty small town made frequent visits easy and fun. From the moment the owner sheltered us under an umbrella - on the first and only rainy day of our stay - from the car to the appartment, we felt welcomed and taken care of by both Mr & Mrs. De Santis. What we and our grown up children particularly appreciated was the quick response to request for changes or addition to things already in the appartments: from pushing single beds together in one of the rooms to giving us additional crockery on request. Our little granddaughter would have lived in the pool if allowed to and high chair and cot were provided from the start to make life easier. Thank you for making the holiday so agreeable, and to Mrs de Santis for making it easy for me to practise my Italian which was so much less fluent than your french. We would love to come again in the next couple of years to explore the region better and say hello again either in french or - who knows? In more fluent italian. Highly recommended

Since 1994 we have spent our holidays in Santa Maria in various apartment in the area. In 2003 we stayed in Villa De Santis for the 1st time, and have been back every year since. What impressed me most was the well laid out apartments, very well equipped, spacious, and the very large balcony with views over the town of Santa Maria, and the sea beyond. The apartments are close to the town, about 5 mins walk to the centre, yet are very private and tranquil. Access is via a security gate with ample car parking. Each apartment has its own entrance and a view of the swimming pool and the sea. We like the fact that the owner Vicenzo lives on site, so in the unlikely event that anything goes wrong, he is only a short distance away. We found Vincenzo and his sons Marco and Roberto very helpful but unobtrusive. We have made many friend in Santa Maria over the years. The town has plenty of restaurants and shopping and a chance to sample the Italian way of life. We can highly recommend Villa De Santis as a comfortable and very good value place to stay!
