Good location but…
Rupert street is wonderfully located in central London. Perfect spot for Pride. However, beware important information was sorely absent until 24 hours before check in. Additionally, the space wasn’t ready for us at our arrival. Also, the property owner does not follow through with promised refunds.
The house rules manual, released 24 hours before our stay, provided several odd instructions: 1) to pick up the key from a store that was 1/10th of a mile from the property, 2) the apartment is on the 4th floor and there is no lift, 3) do not use any sprays like Febreeze or vacuums because the owner has a dangerous respiratory condition.
1. The key pickup is a bit inconvenient. We ended up having to pay more taxi fare because traveling by car in central London (even if only a tenth) requires some maneuvering.
2. The property description does not mention that this is on the 4th floor and there is no lift. Mea culpa for not asking beforehand, but I think this is crucial information that the owner apparently feels should be mentioned only 1 day prior to your arrival, which is well outside the cancellation period. All the other spaces I stayed provided this information in their descriptions.
3. No aerosols like Febreeze. The owner specifically reached out to me by message to ensure I understood this rule. I did. I asked if we could use Poopouri for my father-in-law but we were asked not to. How ironic to find Febreeze in the kitchen cabinet.
