Shepherds Lodge is situated on the outskirts of Beadnell Village. Sleeping 6 people and welcoming dogs the lodge is a spacious accommodation with a secure garden and sea views. The lounge and dining area are open plan and patio doors lead out onto the patio with outdoor seating and bbq. There are 2 double bedrooms (1 ensuite) and 1 twin room - all the bedrooms have lovely views across the fields towards the sea. There is a family bathroom with bath and overhead shower. The village and beach are a 10 to 15 minute walk

An excellent weeks holiday.

Very helpful and welcoming owners. Great location with stunning views. Watched the 40+ curlews feeding on the adjoining field. Just a superb experience will return next year.

Beds bedding furniture very clean accommodation was very comfortable and really well stocked, lovely gift when we arrived Only slight disappointment was the outside furniture which was unusable due to its condition. Inside you can always find dust and areas that need a deeper clean between clients ( probably see it because we own a cleaning business) would we stay again absolutely yes and we would definitely recommend it to friends and family

Fabulous stay over Christmas

Stayed with my husband and his parents for 4 nights over Christmas. Wow what a wonderful place. The lodge is lovely and the location is perfect. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and will be returning!

Another very nice short stay

We've stayed a few times at Shepherd's Lodge now and it is always very pleasant. It is spacious but cozy and has pretty much everything you might need for your stay. It is very well situated with stunning beaches only a short drive away.

Another wonderful week

This was our tenth (10) stay at mains cottages. If only we could live here permanently. Yet again another week of good weather just right for the dogs. We’ve recommended mains cottages to our friends and a few have visited and enjoyed staying. Nothing is too much trouble with Steve on hand if needed.

A beautiful lodge perfect for dogs too.

A superb lodge in a quiet location and yet only minutes away from local amenities. The beaches nearby are fantastic. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The welcome pack even has treats for dogs.

Fabulous Accommodation

Great as always. Sam & all the team provide the best accommodation & everything to make your break away the best it can be. Have stayed in the lodge & Benthall house many times over past 10 years. Stayed with many different friends & I have to stop raving about it all or I won't be able to get a booking myself!

Amazing location to explore Northumbrian coast

Thanks for a fantastic stay. Lodge is well kitted out, very cosy, brilliant for dogs. The welcome package was very kind, the cake was delicious. We felt really well looked after all weekend, thanks!

Dog Friendly Lodge

Spacious lodge which was clean and very well equipped. The garden was private and enclosed, very suitable for our dog. There is a bit of a walk to the beach but overall the location is well situated for exploring the area. Excellent value for money.

Lovely lodge

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so much so we have booked again. Sam is very welcoming and the welcome goodies left for us and our dogs were very generous and very tasty . We found the lodge lovely and quiet and the views are just amazing. Our dogs loved it there and it is very dog friendly with a fab garden for them to potter around in.

Second stay and we loved it as much as we did the first time

This was our second stay at the Shepherds Lodge and you couldn't have asked for anything more. Fabulous welcome gifts upon arrival, everything in the lodge you could have possibly needed in a perfect location. Short walk to Beadnell village where we visited the Craster Arms for lunch which was excellent. A great base for visiting Alnwick, Seahouses and other beaches nearby too.

Excellent base to explore

As always, the lodge was very clean and everything was provided. That’s to welcome us too. Fabulous for dogs. Bowls, poo bags, treats all provided. Superb nearby beaches for them to play on too. Lovely quiet place to stay.

Beautiful lodge

Always a pleasure to go to Shepherds Lodge. The lovely cake and wine and chocolate are just an amazing welcome gift. Facilities are second to none and don’t hesitate to recommend to others. P.S. the mutt loves it too!

Superb as always!

An excellent lodge to stay in. We have stayed there many, many times and will be back again. It is clean and comfortable with gorgeous views of the sea and a secure garden which is perfect if you have dogs. The owner is absolutely fab and a real asset to the property. HIGHLY recommended!

Lovely long weekend

We had a lovely stay at Shepherds lodge. The garden was secure enough and big enough for our 3 dogs . I recommend a visit to the Craster Arms just down the road and you can take dogs in there too. Comfortable, cosy and clean

September weekend stay

Lovely stay, great property. Loved looking out over fields to sea in morning while eating breakfast. Close to Beadnell village, easy walk along path at roadside. Cottage well maintained, great facilities. Loved the extra gift of cake, chocolate and Prosecco. Really enjoyed our stay in beautiful Northumberland Thankyou

Perfect holiday home in beautiful part of the world

We were a party of 5 staying at Shepherd's Lodge and we had a fantastic holiday. The Lodge was the perfect accommodation, and we really enjoyed coming home to it at the end of each day. It was comfortable, there was a lovely welcome pack which was much enjoyed, it was incredibly private, and we enjoyed being able to walk to the beach from the house. We can't really fault it. Would highly recommend as the perfect place to explore beautiful Northumberland.

Wonderful accommodation and the most welcoming hosts

Our fifth stay with Mains Cottages in Beadnell and as ever, it did not disappoint! Beautiful accommodation with a lovely warm welcome. Great communication throughout from Sam and Steve. The cottages have everything you need - well stocked kitchens with essentials provided plus home comforts for you & your dog. We will be back!!

Another fabulous holiday.

Shepherds lodge is ideal for anyone wanting a relaxing stress free extremely dog friendly holiday. Sam and her family go the extra mile to make sure your stay is enjoyable. We love our summer holiday but also look forward to our November break in shepherds lodge, it’s so peaceful for the dogs away from any fireworks and the night skies are fantastic at that time of year.

Everything we hoped for and more

Shepherds Lodge provided a comfortable, clean, well equipped base for us to explore the area.. But it also provided a beautiful sunset and views across golden corn fields towards the sea. We saw two huge hares and curlews in the field. Although the Lodge shares the plot with the larger Shepherd's Cottage, the smaller Bothy and a couple of fabulous looking shepherds huts, it was tucked in the corner at the end of the driveway and so felt very private with an enclosed garden. The lodge provided everything we needed and then some.. We simply couldn't ask for more and we didn't want to leave. The welcome cake and prosecco was a lovely touch too! Thank you so much.
