Cottage with Lakeview and Pool - Monte das Matas
The "Monte das Matas" at the foot of the fortress of Monsaraz, in the immediate vicinity of Lake Alqueva, is the perfect place to spend your holidays in a unique atmosphere.
The accommodation
We rent our spacious country house "Monte das Matas" on the fantastic Alqueva reservoir near the historic castle of Monsaraz.The house has 4 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, direct access to the garden/terrace, closets. Each room has at least 28 m2, 2 beds, desk, TV, chairs and tables for inside and outside. There is also a (sleeping) sofa in the 2nd living room on the top floor.
The whole house with modern air conditioning, the large kitchen fully equipped, the living room with fireplace and TV offers a unique view directly on the lake.
Bed linen and towels available! The 10 x 5 m pool invites you to relax and swim, as does the Alqueva Lake (about 150 m from the house, the largest reservoir in Europe), where you can also fish, boat, surf and hike on the property has a total area of 3,300 m2 of land, has shaded parking spaces and is completely fenced.
Just 2 km from Monsaraz Castle, 5 min by car to the beach and Centro Nautico de Monsaraz, 13 km from Reguengos de Monsaraz, 10 km from Mourao and 20 from Spain, the property offers the ideal base to explore nature and to discover the surroundings without having to forego modern comfort.
There is cable TV and terrestrial TV. Please note: for New Year's Eve and Easter, the minimum stay is 3 nights.
Late check-out is possible for a fee until 6 p.m. on days when no other guests are expected. Normal check out time is 11 am
A security deposit of 250 EU in cash is required upon arrival.
The water in the house is from its own well and is not drinkable!
Access for guests
The entire house, pool and garden are fully and exclusively available to guests. Attention: The pool can only be used from May to mid-October.
Other important information
The salt water pool is only open from May to October.
