This charming villa is perched high above the coastal lane that meanders its way from Messonghi towards the quiet little fishing villages of Boukari and Petriti. This peaceful stretch of olive tree-clad coastline is dotted with various family-run businesses and several friendly tavernas, many considered as serving some of the tastiest seafood on Corfu.
And Elaia is in a wonderful position to make the most of this appealing area. Along with equally desirable sister properties Uranos and Gaia (each sitting in their own individual, private grounds nearby) this charming, wonderfully located home-from-home is a classic combination of inviting comfort and subtle styling with deft, decorative touches enhancing the well-equipped interior.
Ensuring an equitable bedroom balance (and added degree of privacy) for sharing family or friends, an ensuite bedroom is located on either side of the open plan living area, each with its own direct access to the exterior terraces.
On any island the sea is an integral part of day-to-day life and this is no exception at Elaia where the glittering Ionian, only about 900m away, can be accessed for a refreshing dip at various spots along the coastal lane. The popular Fisherman’s Haunt (1.6km) and famous Boukari Beach Fish Taverna (2.6km) - both favourites of the local Corfiots - are also easily accessible.
All amenities, as well as a lovely sandy beach with seasonal watersports, can be found at vibrant Messonghi which is only a 10 minute drive away yet remains a world apart from the laid back, calming environs of Elaia.
Being close to sister villas Gaia and Uranos, means Elaia could be a good choice for an extended family or a group of friends who can be near to each other whilst retaining their own individual space and privacy.
