Great Vacation Spot

We had a great time during our stay at Destin West and the property was as advertised. The kids enjoyed the fitness room, pools and lazy river. We enjoyed being so close to the beach and the amazing views. Will definitely book again!

Wonderful location for families!

Our condo was in a great location and with easy beach access. 7 adults and one infant stayed very comfortably. The condo was exactly as described, and all the amenities were great!

A condo that has it all!

Our stay at the Destin West was incredible!! The facilities are wonderful with the beautiful pools and relaxing river float. We enjoyed the bay area and beach very much!! A+ for facility and location, shopping and restaurants were closed and easy to get to. I will definitely vacation here again.

Family stay

We have stayed at this property for almost 20 years. It never disappoints! We have rented this particular condo before as well. The space and location in the building couldn’t be better for convenience and view!

Great location and beautiful view

Destin West is a great location. The 6th floor view is fantastic. My husband and I enjoy watching and listening to the ocean from the balcony while enjoying morning coffee or late night cocktail. I love the beach and will always choose to stay on the Gulfside. My kids enjoy night swiming with their friends in the pools.

Almost Perfect

Great condo and views. Love the balcony. We loved how we could park on level 5 in the deck and essentially walk right to the front door! We were there essentially three nights so it didn't make sense to buy simple things like salt and pepper. Other VRBO's we've been in have had some of these very basic things. (not sure if that's normal or not) The floors and rugs could use a good deep cleaning. The iron and ironing board needs to be replaced.

Nice stay

The location is great. The unit is a little on the older side but the interior decorations are nice. We only stayed for one night but it was exactly what we needed. The bed in the first room knocks against the wall when you move, other than that we had no problems.

Fort Walton Beach

Overall, the stay was good. The unit needed a bit of attention-the shower had an item from the previous renter, the floors and baseboards needed a deep cleaning, the smoke detector was hanging from the wall, and some of the pillows were missing pillowcases. The overall decor is a bit dated but the bed is comfy and the view is beautiful. Kitchen has new appliances and has everything you need to cook there.

Everything was good ! Location was perfect for our dance competition. Only suggestion is more towels in bathrooms & dryer took forever to dry things regardless of what it was. Over all it was great for our family .

Destin West Beach and Bay Resort

Very nice, clean, peaceful 5 night stay with our family. Everything was exactly as stated on the website. I was disappointed that the beach service with chairs and umbrella was not included as was ours was from our last stay at the resort. We had a family of 6 and only 5 beach chairs were provided. Would be helpful to have beach towels provided

Beautiful condo

We had an amazing trip. The ocean view was a plus. Also got to see fireworks from the pier from our balcony. Our room was quiet . Wish the lazy River was open longer or pool by the beach but understand that some people live there and don’t want to hear the noise. Dryer took forever but was warned from reviews so we were prepared to do small loads. Frying pans need to be replaced with non stick . All in all would definitely stay here again!

The view was amazing on this property! The check in process was a little abnormal. We had to go across the street to get the door code. The property didnt appear to be ready at 4pm according to the front desk. She had to make a phone call to ensure it was cleaned. I found that to be odd but she said check in was between 4 and 6. I contacted the host and had a response within minutes. The Manager came in, didnt acknowledge anyone and began typing on the computer. The door code was generated.. we then go back to the unit and the door code doesnt work. I contacted the host again, the host quickly responded and we had a new door code that worked! Yah! We got in the room..it was nicely furnished plenty of room for all of us. But we shortly noticed after my son sat down that the floors were not clean (his feet were black). Guessing they cleaned with dirty mop water. We just decided to let it go since we drove 15 hours to get there. We made the best of the trip, enjoyed the beautiful pool, hot tub, lazy river, and of course the Beach! Easy walking distance to multiple shops.and restaurants. Good location, and the host was responsive which was appreciated.

Amazing view but loud and difficult to get help

This property has an amazing view. There is plenty of sleeping locations and both a walk in shower and tub making getting kids cleaned up super easy. The neighbor property is very loud almost all day and you hear it in the unit. The place is in need of a deep clean and the kitchen stocking can be better (the knives wouldn't even cut our pizza). Communication with the owner was amazing but the property manager was unresponsive. The owner did everything possible to help our stay though and for this I am appreciative

Unit could use better cleaning , dirty bedspreads.

Overall, cleaning crew did pooor job, bed covers(duvet/ bed spread on bunk) had stains on both. I called housekeeping them took and changed king main spread, and sheets and bedspread on bottom bunk. Floors turn feet dirty color after showers. We have been here 5 yrs in row and this unit needs some cleaning, couch stained. I think we should get some reimbursement of cleaning!! I will not rent the unit again.

Great family vacation condo

The location is great. We’ve stayed at Destin West many times, on the bay side. This was our first stay gulf side and we loved it. Beds were comfortable, but king size beds need king size flat sheets and comforters. The queen size left us a little short of covers on each side. King bed in front bedroom was very loud getting up and down, not great for baby sleeping in the same room. Living room furniture could use some updating and additional seating. We had five adults and two littles and one or more of the adults and kids ended up sitting on kitchen chairs or the floor in the evenings we stayed indoors. We buy groceries and cook almost every day. Non stick pans need replacing, scrambled eggs stuck every morning and omelets were impossible. Tile floors could use a good scrubbing, baby knees, socks and bare feet got pretty dirty inside the condo. That being said we had everything we needed, amazing views, a great vacation and would definitely recommend the unit and stay again ourselves.

We really enjoyed stay at this property. It was well equipped and very spacious! It had all the amenities that we needed. The view was beautiful! Being able to park just steps away from our room was very convenient! We would definitely love to stay at this property again. The host was very informative and answered all my questions quickly.

Unit is in a great location….

Check in was very easy but had to wait quite awhile to get in, even though we think it was ready earlier than front desk told us. We had to call repeatedly and checked frequently to see if anyone was there cleaning. They kept telling us they would let us know when it was ready. We finally got in after calling, and it just so happened that it was ready just then. The property was very nice and well kept. Wish I could say the same for unit we were in. Seemed like the cleaning crew just did a quick go through. For what you pay , for cleaning, it should have been a better job. We were only there about an hour and our grandson was crawling around and his hands, knees and tops of his feet were BLACK, and so were the bottoms of our feet. They did send someone the next morning to clean the floors, but that was done poorly. The kitchen was not very well equipped, but we managed. For example, the only large pot they had only had one handle. We also had trouble drying towels and clothing. Someone did come and look at it, and it did work a little better. A/C worked very well considering it was in the upper 90’s all week. The elevators were extremely hot. If you weren’t sweating before you got in, you were when you got out. Probably won’t go back to this unit. The owner did respond quickly, but always told us we had to call front desk to handle any issues.
