Stay at the House

Overall our stay was good. It was not clear on the internet page to bring our own wood, so we had to buy something that was pretty annoying. Furthermore the terrace was pretty dirty and full of spider webs. Plates and silverware were dirty so we cleaned it, before we used it. The Fridge was dirty as well. We were happy with the size of the house. It was a lovely stay regardless of the things we didnt like so much.

Lovely spot in the woods near the beach

Overall we had a wonderful stay at the cottage in Thyholm. The property was easy to access and well equipped, and it is clear that the owners love their place. There was a lot of personal things there like photos, shoes etc, which was a bit quirky. Positive stand outs was the kids' swing and the "secret table", toys/games for the kids accessible to use, lovely fireplace and plenty of space. The patio was nice and provided a good space for evening meals. The dining table with couch was a clever way to save space. Some things were less good: There was no logic to the light switches (many lamps with Phillips hue), but we couldn't figure out how to turn off the outdoors lamps and let the inside lights be on. The fridge door is askew and doesn't close properly, and the heat pump smelled so bad that we couldn't use it. There was no extract fan in the bathroom, and the extract in the kitchen only made noise but no extract. The wood-burning Jacuzzi was empty and there were no chemicals to make it reusable. The fire-pit was broken and unusable. Some things can be improved with minor effort, such as mosquito netting should be installed on the windows. The windows are very difficult to open, possibly due to the humidity, there are a lot of cobwebs that should be cleaned away before renting it out and the patio roof was leaking in some places. Also the instructions were very limited (garbage/recycling etc) and the listing was inaccurate (need to list what is included in the rental)

Echt een natuurhuisje waar je tot rust kan komen. Ruim huisje maar buiten niet geschikt voor 10 personen. Te kleien tafel. Te weinig zitplaatsen. Op wandelafstand van de fjord (als je de wandelweg er naartoe vindt).

Ein schönes Haus, aber…!

Wir waren mit dem Haus und der Lage grundsätzlich zufrieden. Leider muss ich zwei Punkte erwähnen, die uns ganz und gar nicht gefallen haben. Zum einen war im Grundriss des Hauses eine Sauna aufgeführt, die aber nur für den privaten Gebrauch bestimmt ist. Das haben wir aber erst erfahren, als wir im Haus angekommen sind. Also konnten wir diese nicht nutzen. Wir haben dieses Haus unter anderem auf Grund der angeblich vorhandenen Sauna gebucht. Zum anderen haben wir nach unserem Aufenthalt bemerkt, also, als wir wieder zu Hause waren, dass unsere Kleidung, die Bettwäsche, die Handtücher, Schuhe, Jacken usw. einen sehr muffigen Geruch vom Haus angenommen hatten. Vor Ort ist uns das nicht aufgefallen. Wir mussten die Sachen mehrfach waschen um den „Gestank“ herauszubekommen. Leider wurde uns von der Agentur nach mehrmaliger Aufforderung kein Entgegenkommen in Form einer Entschädigung (Preisnachlass) zu gesagt. Das ist sehr enttäuschend!
