This Georgian house is the perfect venue to relax and unwind with family and friends. Come and be inspired by the same panoramas that inspired the likes of Wordsworth and Ruskin. It is fully furnished with all the modern luxuries but holds true to its period character. Light and spacious reception rooms together with elegant en-suite bedrooms ensure guests experience the Lake District at its very best. Silverholme Manor includes use of the Coach House, which can be set up as a play area for the children, a second dining room, a venue for private house parties and corporate events. For large group holidays of more than 18, please get in touch and we will tailor a package to you.

Our stay at Silverholme Manor

We have just had another stay at our lovely second home Silverholme.It is just the most amazing place and everyone we bring with us loves it.You couldn't have a better view anywhere in the UK and it really does feel like coming home every time we are here.Roll on the next time.

Another lovely short break on the Graythwaite estate

Once again the staff were outstanding in accommodating us for our last minute three night break. The property was delightful with breathtaking views over Lake Windermere for us to wake up to on a morning. Outstanding location for beautiful walks, watching wildlife and visiting nearby villages. We can highly recommend a stay at Graythwaite.

What a fantastic place for our wedding week!

From the first time we met Vanessa to walk us around Silverholme, to checking out, the team at Graythwaite have been amazing. Great communication and no request is too difficult. This place is a place of dreams! It really was the most perfect place to host our wedding week! We felt extremely at home and comfortable. The house had everything you needed and was a really cosy stay!

Magical

Our second stay at Silverholme and it was as magical as the first. We have stayed in the heat of the Summer and in the frost of the winter and both have been completely difference experiences. We have had the best of both, BBQs and days on the lake and frosty walks, Dinners in the dinning room with a roaring fires and games. Can't wait for our next stay Magical!

New Year at Silverholme

We have stayed at Silverholme many times now and absolutely love it. There are always the same group of people we come with and we really do have the best time. There is plenty of space for everyone to either hang out in different rooms or all get together in the cosy room with the real fire to play Chase the Ace or Bingo. The view is amazing any looks lovely whatever the season.Would highly recommend it.

An amazing wedding weekend at Silverholme

Vanessa and the team at Silverholme were absolutely fantastic throughout the whole process - from our very first viewing to the wedding day itself. It was wonderful having Vanessa there on the day to make sure everything went smoothly. We also loved all of the properties on the Graythwaite Estate, and it was perfect that so many of our guests could stay nearby. Vanessa was brilliant when it came to coming up with a Plan B after some last-minute weather changes - and in the end, being able to use such a beautiful venue to its fullest actually made everything even better! The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and such a special place to stay with family and friends. The kitchen had everything we needed, and with those stunning views of the lake, you really couldn’t ask for a more perfect place to get married. Silverholme Manor truly provided everything we wanted and more for a wedding that was even better than we could have ever imagined. Thank you for everything!

What an incredible property, location and service

We were blown away with Silverholme Manor. The perfect venue for an our perfect wedding. Vanessa who runs the estate couldnt have been more helpful and was always quick to respond to any question. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, all our guests said it was the best venue they had ever been to. There is everything you could possibly need and they have literally thought of everything, including a brilliant sound system. The scenery is beautiful and we loved starting each day with a view across the lake. We loved every second and fully intend on visiting again.

Magical venue for our wedding break

There is no better setting for a wedding in the UK. Driving down the driveway for the first time convinced us that Silverholme was going to be the venue for our wedding before we even stepped inside, it's a beautiful building in an amazing setting. Then step inside and the interior just blows you away, Silverholme is kept in such beautiful condition with jaw dropping rooms. Vanessa and the Greythwaite team are very attentive and responsive to questions and nothing seems too much trouble. Highly, highly recommended.

Incredible stay and wedding!

We stayed at Silverholme with our close family for a very small and intimate wedding, and it was the perfect venue. The house itself is stunning—full of character and charm—while the Coach House provided exactly the setting we had envisioned for our ceremony and wedding breakfast. It felt both elegant and welcoming, making for a truly special atmosphere. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend a few days celebrating with our loved ones. The views across the lake are absolutely spectacular, and waking up to such breathtaking scenery each morning made the experience even better. The house was spacious, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable, giving us and our guests a wonderful home-from-home experience. Vanesa was brilliant—extremely helpful, communicative, and attentive, ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Thank you for an unforgettable stay—we will cherish the memories forever!

The most beautiful house with views to die for

We had a wonderful week here celebrating big birthdays in our family. The welcome hamper was lovely and everything on arrival was perfect, comfortable rooms fully equipped, plenty of space for each family to enjoy. The youngest member aged 4 was taught chess by his older cousins, it provided hours of unexpected amusement, an example of the extra touches which made this beautiful place a really special holiday. The booking and information prior to arrival was very easy and Vanessa patiently answered all our questions straight away. What else can I say, this isn’t cheap but worth every penny for a holiday in a beautiful location, with everything provided and carefully thought out. It rained every day, but did we care?! Karen Rhodes catering provided a memorable evening with a delicious meal. So thank you Silverholme, my youngest grandchildren are now busy playing “going to Graythwaite “ every night, which causes much hilarity.

What a fairytale dream wedding venue!

Wow wow wow!!! We had a magnificent weekend celebrating our wedding at Silverholme Manor for 150 guests. We used every inch of the stunning venue and really made the most of the panoramic views of the lake and the estate. The bedrooms are gorgeous and the living spaces feel like a stately home, we really felt like king and queen for the weekend! We loved the fact we could take over the property for the weekend and have complete control and freedom. It was made even better by the fact there’s no charge for corkage which is very rare for a wedding venue. Vanessa and her team could not have been more helpful and she went out of her way to make us feel special. We can’t wait to come back to Graythwaite for our anniversary in years to come and we will always look back on our wedding day with a massive grin!! Thank you!

Family Weekend Away on Lake Windermere

We spent a long weekend with all the family at the wonderful Silverholme Manor. Eighteen adults and 2 children had a fabulous time at this amazing house. The location could not be better, overlooking the lake and fells in the distance, with its own private pathway down to the waters edge. The house has all the facilities you could need, the kitchen and dining area, with full length glass French doors overlooking the lake is indeed a bonus. Even though we went in November we were still able to use the firepit and barbecue facilities on the rear patio overlooking the lake and under a starry sky. All the bedrooms are very well appointed and are beautifully decorated in a period finish, with each having its own en-suite bathroom. Vanessa, who manages the property, could not do enough for us, always very prompt to answer any questions that we had before we arrived and was there to make sure everything was perfect for us when we arrived. I would recommend a stay to anyone, at any time of the year. Wonderful!

4 night stay at Silverholme for Golden Wedding Anniversary Celebrations

Silverholme is a beautiful property with fabulous views of lake Windermere. All of the bedrooms are of high quality such that none of our guests felt they had missed out. The kitchen and reception rooms are also exceptional in size, decor and comfort. Everything is provided and has been very well thought about. During our stay in January we lit the fire every morning and used it all day. There were plenty of logs. However the house was warm and cosy and did not need the fire lit. We simply liked the visual effect as the weather was poor. The kitchen is directly beside the Dining room which worked well for the recommended caterers who provided an excellent celebration dinner on Saturday night. The other reception rooms also worked well for the Actors providing the Murder Mystery experience as they were able to remain out of sight from the guests until the last minute. This is a superb venue for a memorable experience in every respect.

Fantastic venue, even better staff!

Vanessa, the office manager at Silverholme, is an absolute hero! For our wedding at the Silverholme Manor, the tent provider (All About ME Marquees) I chose (going against Vanessa's recommendation) neglected to do a site visit until 72 hours before the wedding. This resulted in very serious and major last-minute issues. Instead of throwing their hands in the air and complaining, Vanessa and her team tried to come up with alternative solutions, all of which she communicated to us in a succinct and timely fashion. What could have been an absolute nightmare turned out to be a beautiful event. This is because Vanessa is a true professional who went beyond her roles and responsibilities to make sure everything ran smoothly. She is also the loveliest human being, always with a positive attitude and very invested in everyone having a great time. From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much! PS. The location is heavenly and the venue is gorgeous :)

Excellent all round!

This venue sells itself. The location and surroundings are perfect and the house is stunning. I've never stayed in such a well-equipped kitchen. All staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. All of my guests had a fantastic time once again. I hope to back again.
