Casa señorial panorámica en Taormina y Etna

Desde el aeropuerto de Catania, tome la autopista A18 hacia Messina y salga en Fiumefreddo. Desde allí subir hacia Piedimonte Etneo. Antes de llegar al pueblo, gire a la izquierda hacia Nunziata y continúe unos 800 metros. Verá la casa después de una secuencia de curvas, en la parte superior a su derecha. Desde la puerta de entrada tome la empinada cuesta flanqueada por las columnas. La subida requiere un poco de atención porque es estrecha y con dos curvas. Pero una vez que llegue allí, encontrará que vale la pena.
La peculiaridad de esta casa no es solo la vista, sino también el hecho de estar en el campo, rodeado de cítricos y árboles frutales, y estar simultáneamente cerca del mar (la playa de Fiumefreddo está a 10 minutos en coche) y el montaña. Además, se puede llegar a Taormina por la autopista en unos 25 minutos, en 15 minutos se puede llegar al Picciolo Golf Club, un campo de golf de 18 hoyos, y el puerto turístico Riposto también está a unos 15 minutos. Allí también puede alquilar veleros para continuar sus vacaciones explorando la costa este. En Fiumefreddo (5 km) también hay un campo de vuelo para ala delta y ultraligeros y una pista de karts. Estamos en las laderas del Etna, y la zona está llena de excursiones, incluida la subida al cráter, una visita a las gargantas del río Alcántara y muchos restaurantes típicos. Incluso Catania, a media hora en la carretera, reserva la sorpresa de un hermoso centro histórico barroco.

What an amazing property! We will remember this place and Pietro's kindness, forever. The stunning Sicilian tiled floors, the warm morning light flooding in when I opened the original wooden shutters on the huge doors, the views of Etna from the terrace and of Taormina from the dining room have brought poems from me. Picking oranges in the garden and eating them by the pool or juicing them in the kitchen was quite an experience. We even had the spectacle of a thunderstorm one night, which was incredible to watch from our hill top position.Arriving late and in darkness, we were lost in Piedmonte Etneo when Pietro came to the rescue and led us to the property and up the formidable (but stunning) driveway! Pietro's communication (and patience) were perfect and put us at ease with the property. A visit to Taormina was a quick and easy drive and more than worth venturing out. The amphitheatre (and the gelato) is not to be missed.Otherwise, we fell into a sunny routine of slow cooking, playing in the pool, reading in the sun, exploring the extensive former vineyard, drawing, and writing. This house is a great base for active persons but it's so lovely, so characterful, it's hard to tear yourself away. Thankyou, Pietro, for a birthday I will never forget.

Sehr, sehr schöne Unterkunft mit besonderem Charme.Der Ausblick auf der Terrasse ist ein ganz besonders schön, mit Blick auf den Ätna. Einiges in der Unterkunft ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, es fehlt aber an nichts, Waschmaschine, Mikro usw.Die Auffahrt ist abenteuerlich, (sehr eng) aber mit etwas Übung kein Problem. (Ich empfehle ein Auto mit Automatik-Getriebe zu leihen).Wir waren zu Fünft in der Unterkunft was sehr komfortabel war.Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in Sizilien und Pietro ist sehr freundlich, nett und Geduldig.

Der Aufenthalt war super. Die Wohnung bzw. Das Haus war altersentsprechend auf sehr gutem Stand. Man darf hier kein Luxus erwarten, aber dafür Charme und Geschichte. Die Zimmer sind sehr groß und die Terrasse noch größer. Der Ausblick ein Traum. Blick zum Meer und auf der anderen Seite zum Ätna.Highlights sind auch der Pool und die Plantage selbst. Der Weg zum Haus ist zwar steil und eng, und der Boden ist eher ein Schotterweg, gehört aber zum Gesamterscheinungsbild dazu. Es empfiehlt sich aber ein PS starkes Auto Grazie Pietro

Positives:It would be hard to find more breathtaking views: miles of unobscured coastline to the front, green hills behind, with Etna rumbling intermittently in the distance. The terrace area is huge and the pool also has a beautiful view. There was plenty of space inside the house, which is very characterful - with decoratively-tiled floors and a traditional kitchen. It is also better-equipped than most places we have stayed in. Pietro welcomed us and was very thorough in his presentation of both the house and local area. For shopping, there is a Lidl ten minutes away in Fiumefreddo. I personally found the property very nostalgic, charming and relaxing. I was also impressed by the wifi speed!Negatives:Having read about the narrowness of the drive, we opted to hire two small cars instead of one seven-seater. Even these struggled to get up the steep, narrow hill. We mastered it by day two though.Overall:This nostalgic property has an incredible atmosphere and left a unique and memorable impression on me but requires a level of intrepid spirit to be fully appreciated.

tolles authentisches Haus mit riesiger Terrasse

innen tolles, altes Haus mit überwiegend alten Böden, Möbeln. Große sonnige Terrasse mit Panoramablick Richtung Osten und Ätna im Westen. Ausreichende Küchenausstattung mit alten Marmornbecken oder Gasherd in alzer "Feuerstelle". Das Haus liegt hoch in der Landschaft, quasi ohne Nachbarn. Um das Haus geht komplett ein "Balkon" (gleiche Höhe wie Terrasse), sodass man immer eine windgeschützte Ecke nutzen kann. Hier fehlt ein kleiner Tisch. Wir hatten Ende Oktober keinen Regen aber einen überdachten Bereich gibt es ebenfalls. Sehr netter Besitzer. Kein Standardhaus, was wir sehr sehr genossen haben.

Hervorragende Aussicht aber ...

Pietro hat sich bei unserer Ankunft leider im Datum vertan, so dass wir mit unseren 3 Teenagern stundenlang nach einer Unterkunft suchen mussten, um gegen 22.30 Uhr in einem Hotel, dass noch Platz hatte, zu stranden. Am folgenden Tag war Pietro, der sich vielmals für sein Versehen entschuldigte, dann zu erreichen und buchte uns auf seine Kosten für die kommende Nacht ein Hotel in Catania (leider nur 4 Schlafplätze), da unsere Unterkunft noch nicht gereinigt war, denn so schnell konnte Pietro für sonntags kein Personal finden. Montags endlich sind wir von Pietro, der uns finanziell sofort für die erste Hotelübernachtung entschädigt hat, zum Haus geleitet worden, wo er uns alles gezeigt hat. Leider war der Pool bzw. die Pumpe kaputt und konnte wegen besonderer technischer Schwierigkeiten auch nicht während unseres Aufenthaltes repariert werden. Der Kühlschrank war sehr schmutzig, ebenso die Mikrowelle. Dass im Haus fast alle Möbel und die Küche aus Zeiten von Pietros Kindheit sind, mag man noch charmant finden, aber altes, schmutziges und kaputtes Mobiliar benötigt wirklich niemand. Im Wohnzimmer gibt es kein Licht, im Esszimmer nur ein extrem schwaches, was im Oktober schwierig ist. Mehrere Lampen, die wir in die Steckdosen gesteckt haben, funktionieren nicht. Die Aussicht ist wirklich vermutlich die schönste in ganz Sizilien! Sie hat es aber nicht geschafft uns über alles andere hinwegsehen zu lassen.

Nice place with magnificent views

The outdoor facilities are wonderfull with vue to the sea and Etna. The kids enjoyed the pool very much. House and terraces are very spacious and has much charm.

Ätna und Sizilien

Wir hatten drei wunderschöne Wochen im August auf Sizilien verbracht und dieses sehr spezielle Haus war unser Ausgangspunkt. Die herausfordernde Auffahrt wurde bereits mehrfach erwähnt, oben angekommen lädt die fantastische Terrasse mit Meeres- oder Ätnablick zum Entspannen ein. Der Gastgeber Pietro war immer erreichbar und sehr bemüht Probleme zu lösen. Insgesamt ist der Standard im Haus nicht ganz auf der Höhe der Zeit und es müsste an der einen oder anderen Stelle etwas

Ruhe und ein toller Ausblick

Wir hatten eine tolle Woche als Familie in einem in die Jahre gekommenen, kühlen, ruhigen Haus in den Weinbergen. Die Terrasse ist toll, ein großartiger Ausblick, der Wind bringt abends und nachts Abkühlung. Der Pool ist klein aber ausreichend zum Abkühlen. Die Auffahrt eine Herausforderung!

Great villa with a fantastic view

The view of both Mount Etna and the sea from here are both stunning. As other reviewers have said, the photos don't do it justice! Pietro is also an absolute gentleman and is very helpful. Facilities are somewhat rustic, but all work fantastically well. Location is great and you're not more than a 10 minute drive from anything you need.

Formidable!

La maison est très bien située, entre Catane et Etna, à côté d'un village entre mer et montagne (piedimonte, tout est dit). La propriété a un caractère incroyable. Passionnés d'ultramoderne s'abstenir. Mais surtout...Quelle terrasse...Quelle vue! Avec un emplacement pour toutes les heures de la journée. On s'est régalés, pendant les promenades mais aussi pendant les petits dej, les repas et bien sûr les apéros.

Good house in wonderful surroundings

A very nice house with a fantastic view of the Sea and of Etna. The house was larger than we expected from the pictures so lots of room inside and outside. Always possible to find a place in the sun or on shadow. Only problem is that the roads are narrow and not safe for walking. So it is necessary to drive for restaurants and shopping. Don’t rent a very large car, because the driveway up to the house is very narrow and steep. The owner was very helpful and available by telephone all the time.

Ferienhaus mit überwältigender Aussicht

... ein Ferienhaus am Hang mit wundervollen Blick in die Landschaft bis zum Meer und auf den Ätna ! Ein sehr guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge nach Catania, Syrakus, Taormina ist gleich um die Ecke, und der Ätna zum Greifen nahe, man kann aber auch den ganzen Tag auf der großen Terrasse chillen.... Das Ferienhaus ist zwar etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber der Charme dieses großzügigen Sommerhauses mit einem Pool in einem großen terrassenartig angelegten Garten, in dem die Kids sich austoben können, beheben dieses „Luxus-Problem“. Der Vermieter Pietro ist sehr verlässlich, freundlich, gibt gute Tipps und ist immer da, sollte es ein Problem geben. Für Familien mit Kindern absolut zu empfehlen 👍👍👍

Amazing house with views to match!

We would like to thank Pietro for an amazing holiday in his beautiful house The outside patio is massive and wraps all around with stunning views of both the coast and the summit of Etna. Great location to explore This part of Sicily. Nothing was too much trouble for Pietro he met us at the toll road and took us to the house and was always available by phone if we needed him. Great holidays in a lovely house with a fantastic view

We spent two wonderful weeks in Mascali! Pietro is a great host and always available for questions. He cares very much that his guests are doing well. The communication was always easy and he had lots of tips on excursions and specialities in the area. The house is already a bit old, but it is very charming and well equipped with everything you need. There is also a very well equipped kitchen and plenty of space in the house, which can be inhabited very relaxed with seven people. But the best part is definetly the huge terrace, from which you have a gigantic view over the sea on one side and the Etna on the other side. The garden is also very well maintained and beautifully landscaped and our kids had lots of fun in the pool. Unfortunately, we have not been able to explore the entire area in two weeks, so we will definitely come back again. Many thanks to Pietro for the hospitality and the fantastic holidays!

Un site superbe et une grande maison su calme

La maison de Pietro est située sur les pentes de l'Etna dans un site splendide, qui permet un séjour de relaxation totale. La maison est vaste et fraîche, la terrasse et le jardin sont incroyables Seule la salle de bain est un peu petite et mériterait quelques travaux, mais ce n'est pas très grave. Nous avons passé un séjour magnifique, entre la mer et l'Etna. Merci

Très belle propriété

Vue somptueuse depuis la terrasse et plusieurs chambres, avec une vue à 180° sur la côte, et l'Etna enneigé en arrière-plan La propriété, une ancienne maison de famille, est calme, au milieu des arbres fruitiers, et bien pourvue en terme de tables, à la fois au soleil et à l'ombre ; la cuisine est bien équipée pour cuisiner, avec nombreux ustensiles et plats. Un seule pièce pour salle d'eau et toilettes ; des travaux sont en cours pour l'aménagement des niveaux inférieurs, et la propriété devrait être superbe Il est nécessaire d'avoir une voiture pour se déplacer (village pas très loin, mais route pas vraiment adaptée à la marche à pied) Propriétaire sympathique et accueillant, avec une bonne maîtrise du français

A place to enjoy

If you want stainless steel and an infinity pool, this isn't the place for you. If you want stunning views, complete relaxation and lots of different laces to sit and catch a gentle breeze while you read your book, drink your wine or just stare off into the distance, this IS the place for you. The house is charming, clean and very well equipped. The photos don't really do it justice. Pietro was always helpful, friendly and available if you needed him. I would certainly recommend this house to friends. Do go to Taormino. It's worth a couple of visits. And, do go to the Café Cypriene near the Domo in Acireal. Its granitas make even Italian ice cream seem ordinary.

"Maison de famille isolée ayant beaucoup de charme, bien équipée, idéalement située, en hauteur entre Etna et mer, immense terrasse avec panorama exceptionnel de toute la côte jusqu''au Volcan, jardin ombragé (pins, orangers, citronniers) en pente. Grand bassin d''eau très agréable pour se rafraîchir en plein air tout en profitant de la vue. Accueil très amical du propriétaire qui habite à qq km mais qui est très disponible. Lieu idéal pour visiter la région, au calme en retrait de l''autoroute qui est toutefois rapidement rejointe en une dizaine de mn. Nous y avons passé d''excellente vacances."
