"THE PIER CABIN" y la piscina (cerrada por la temporada) se encuentran en el histórico "Johnson's Crook" en Rising Fawn Ga., 30757. Cuando realmente quieres escaparte, este es el lugar donde quieres "SER". Cabin was dusty, old food in freezer, expiry condements filled the door of the fridge, dead crusty bait left in the fridge. Prorch was un tindy 3-4 boat batteries random junk on the porch, boat with paddle exposed nails and over tirned, boat with motor filled with life vest and water. Pictures on line showed a rustic getaway. We knew the water was low but porch furniture rusted, burn marks in the porch rotted wood. No hot water water the first day. Toliet was difficult to flush

We had to cancel because the property was horrific and not what we were told. We had been there a long time ago and it was great. So sad! Our host helped us get in touch with Vrbo help, and they are sending a refund.

We enjoyed the peaceful setting and enjoyed being disconnected from life's distractions. We were disappointed in the fact that there was not a clean, working boat as described in amenities. There was a lack of comfortable seating and the condition of the futon was quite challenging to sit on, much less sleep. I was shocked at how dirty/dusty the inside of the cabin was considering there is a cleaning fee. I definitely left it cleaner than when I found it.

Listing not accurate

Overall deterioration of property compared to what's in the listing photos. Wading pool doesn't look like it's been operational for a decade. Handrail around back deck is so decayed, you can't lean against it for fear of falling through. The grass was over a foot tall, it should have been cut before our arrival. It was so hot inside cabin. It took 6-7 hours to get it cool enough to sleep. Air should have been turned on prior to our arrival. The property owner Jerry is super nice, but needs to update with accurate pictures and a price to match what you are getting. The fishing was excellent. the cabin is perfectly situated, but like I said you are not getting what you pay for.

Weekend getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay! It was exactly as listed with the exception of the wading pool needing maintenance, but that wasn’t enough to prevent us from having a wonderful time. Great fishing, beautiful views, the cabin was very clean other than a few spider webs in some hard to reach places. We will definitely recommend this property! As stated in other reviews, the toilet was a little hard to flush at times, but we figured out that all we had to do was hold the button in until it completely flushed. We enjoyed fishing and just relaxing. Thank you, Mr. Jerry for a great experience!

It fell short

There was no propane for the grill.Half the lights didn't work.The boat was full of water, so we had to bail it out to use the boat. There were no paddles for the boat, but a trolling motor was provided.We installed it onto the boat along with one of the batteries that were on the deck. My grandson and i got at the end of the lake and the battery died. Luckily, a neighbor was near and loaned us a couple of paddles, so we made it back to the cabin. There were several batteries on the deck, so this time we loaded 2 of them in case one ran out.We got our in the middle of the lake and once again the battery died. When i switched over to the other battety, it was dead also. The neighbor had already picked ip his paddles, so we had to wait in the sun until we drifted into some bushes. By this time i was badly sunburnt. We broke off a couple of limbs to use as paddles and after a long and exhausting time, we made it back to the cabin.When i checked the leads on the battery charger, i found that one of the leads was broken.Needless to say we didnt attempt another boat trip.On a positive note, the fishing was great!

Location is beautiful, but rough roads up to cabin.

Water heater very small. Futon very uncomfortable to sit on. Pillows on bed need to be replaced. Refrigerator had food left from previous stays. Toilet was hard to flush.

Little piece of heaven

We truly enjoyed our time here at the cabin. It was just what I needed to unplug. The boys had a great time fishing. The cabin was stocked with mostly everything you need. Jerry was very responsive.

Wonderful scenery

This property is breathtaking. Nested in the mountains. Beautiful cabin. The one knock was the cleanliness of the house. I understand country living. But we pay a cleaning fee for a reason. Stained sheets. All kinds of dog food or something in the bed. Every dish had a film on it. Other than the cleanliness. It's a wonderful property

Rustic but private

If your looking for a 5 star this isn’t your place if your looking for a rustic camping experience in the middle of nowhere to enjoy disconnecting and unwinding this is your place. The toilet water pressure leave a lot to be desired and is definitely not the cleanest but the bedding was clean and the sleeping arrangements were comfortable. Overall we enjoyed the weekend unwinding in nature.

Beautiful lake but fisherman cabin

The pictures need updated. The wading pool was very slimy. The house was “lived in” clean but not “I paid nearly $200 a night” clean. Bed was comfortable but extra blankets would have been nice. No bedding for the futon couch. Shower is tiny but not super clean. The lake view and fishing made up for it, mostly. The property manager was very nice and super responsive. It is a fishing cabin, not a vacation rental. My husband came for the fishing but the wife would have appreciated a clean fridge. They are not kidding about lack of cell service and no internet.

Very rustic

When he says rustic he means rustic. Could use a little more cleaning from point of my view (but I am OCD).The fishing (caught 34 fish in 2 days)and scenic view were GREAT.

False advertising do not stay!!!!

Absolutely AWFUL!! I walked in, looked at the place and left! I requested a refund and from the owner and was denied! There is no way you are fishing or taking the boat out. The water is ridiculously low. Not “just a little”!! I did not recognize the place from the pictures. A dog was there. NOTHING against dogs. I’m just allergic. Owner said the dog wasn’t his, but a food bowl was on the porch and a can of food was open sitting on the porch rail with a spoon. I wish I could post pictures of the place! It was awful!!

Accurately Described - Reminds Me of Virgin River

If you've ever seen the Netflix series Virgin River or read the books, this place reminds me of Mel's cabin. My husband & I stayed here for our anniversary weekend. Amazing views! If you enjoy photography, you'll be in Heaven! There are MANY interesting photo ops around the lake, including some abandoned cabins.The lake was down at least 6-10 feet, but the description told us that up front. The description also said if you're looking for a 4-5 star hotel, this isn't for you-again 100% accurate. The place is old, the floors creek, there's dust & cobwebs in several places (just like in your home from time to time). Otherwise, it was clean & we felt safe. The description also said to follow the directions in the listing instead of using GPS. We ended up on the wrong end of Newsome Gap Rd & traveled about 4 miles on a narrow dirt & gravel path. Don't do what we did! We're big college football fans, so we attempted a digital antenna to watch the AL vs TN game with no luck, & our phones would only stream outside the cabin. We found a fabulous sports bar/restaurant in Trenton called Jefferson's if you find yourself in a similar situation. As the previous review stated, there was a dog that (from the blanket on the porch it used as a bed, opened dog food cans inside the grill, & it's attempts to come inside every time we opened the door) clearly lives out on the porch. It barked ALL night at deer. It looks like it needs a trip to the vet & DEFINITELY needs a bath.

Relaxing little fishing cottage

The views were absolutely gorgeous. It's very quiet and tucked away. The cottage itself is nothing fancy and needed a good cleaning. The bed and bathroom were clean. The resident dog is very sweet but did bark throughout the night at outside critters and needs a trip to the vet. The lake is down considerably due to lack of rain (as well as all area creeks and waterfalls). Overall we enjoyed the visit and would definitely consider going back, especially when the area has received more rain.

The property owner, Jerry Fagan is a Great host.

This property is a fisherman's dream. This is our 3rd year in a row renting this fishing cabin and we are already makings plans for next year's visit. We love sitting around and talking with our good friend and property owner Jerry Fagan. He is a great host and there is no question,he has the best fishing cabin around.

You can get away and relax, The fishing is fabulous; caught in this lake: 40 lb catfish, 9 lb large mouth bass, 1.5 lb crappie and 2.5 lb bream. There is a paddle boat and 2 fishing boats with paddles. Trolling motor/battery are a available for your enjoyment . A fish cleaning station with running water. Propane and charcoal grills(you supply your our charcoal).
