A haven for wine lovers this charming retreat is quietly nestled amongst the vines on a sunny hillside. This unique property was originally built by local people and is arranged over three floors. The main living space opens onto a small balcony and is situated on the second floor. This room incorporates one of two kitchens and has been furnished with a flatscreen HDTV, a comfortable sofa bed and a large dining table. The kitchen is equipped with; a cooker hob, an oven and a fridge.

The ground floor was once the original cellar and used to store tools and wine. This space opens onto a large terrace and has been furnished with an additional eat-in kitchen perfect for family meals at the end of a busy day exploring.

Location
The property is situated on the winegrowing hill of Trška Gora in the vicinity of Otočec. in southeast Slovenia near the border with Croatia. This area is known for its charming vineyard cottages situated right next to the vineyards, and the famous Cviček wine. The surrounding is also loved by hikers and there is a network of marked footpaths (of varying difficulty) and cycle paths across the landscape.

The accommodation is a 6-minute drive from Trška Gora a village where visitors can experience authentic Slovenian village life and Novo Mesto’s historic Old Town (Stari trg) is a 9-minute drive away, here visitors can explore historic landmarks including the Franciscan Monastery and the Dolenjska Museum. Visitors can also sample regional wines at local wineries and enjoy traditional Slovenian cuisine, Vinska klet Colnar winery is a 5-minute drive.

Other popular excursions include a trip to the historic town of Brežice (a 13-minute drive) where guests can visit Brezice Castle, a Renaissance-era fortress that houses the Posavje Museum or take a trip to the thermal spas of Terme Čatež. The local supermarket is a 5-minute drive away.
