Otago Cottage is a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom cottage with a large welcoming kitchen/dining area and a cosy living area for guests to relax. The stylish interior and well-thought-out finishes create a relaxing haven for those pursuing peace in the Highlands of Scotland.

Nestled within the captivating village of Brora, Otago Cottage is set against a backdrop of rich history and awe-inspiring landscapes. Brora invites you to immerse yourself in a unique blend of tranquillity and adventure, creating an ideal setting for those in search of an authentic Scottish experience.

A mere 15-minute stroll from Otago Cottage lies the renowned Clynelish Distillery, where whisky aficionados can delight in captivating tastings, savouring the distinct flavours of this world-famous Scottish spirit. This proximity allows guests to embark on a leisurely day excursion, meandering to the distillery while exploring the charm of the village simultaneously.

For golf enthusiasts, the Brora Golf Club is only a 15-minute walk away, offering a picturesque challenge against the backdrop of stunning coastal views. A round of golf here not only tests your skill but also provides an opportunity to absorb the natural beauty that defines Brora.

It not only provides easy access to these attractions but also offers a comfortable and welcoming retreat, allowing guests to unwind in style after a day of exploring the best that Brora has to offer.

Otago Cottage is located next to the A9 making it the ideal place for someone to stay if using Public Transport upon arrival or departure. The property is also very well lit at night due to the surrounding street lights.

Entry to Otago Cottage is through the garden gate to the side of the property where you can also explore the large fully-enclosed garden which also have an outdoor seating area to sit and relax after a long day of exploring the local area.

Otago Cottage does not have allocated parking spots, however, there is free on-street parking available up Stafford Terrace. Please note that parking is limited and used by the whole street. There is usually no issue with parking space, however, availability is not 100% guaranteed.

On the ground floor you have the Kitchen/ Dining area, Utility room, Lounge area and family shower room. The first floor has 2 double bedrooms and an en-suite attached to the master bedroom.

The Kitchen/Dining area has been beautifully designed to offer a cosy space for guests to enjoy a meal together. The kitchen is fitted with an oven, electric hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and a round table to seat 4 people. It is also well-stocked with your typical kitchen essentials making it easy to prepare a home-cooked meal after a day of making memories.

The lounge has been designed to make the space feel cosy and really give it that home-away-from-home feeling. Not only is it very well decorated but it is also fitted with two 2-seater couches, an electric fireplace and a Freeview Smart TV.

The Utility room is equipped with your washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as your clothes horse, hoover and broom. There is also ample space for storing golf clubs and trolleys too.

The downstairs shower-room hosts a large step-free shower.

Both bedrooms on the first-floor host double-size beds, and are fully equipped with bed linen and towels for throughout your stay. You will also find drawers, hangers, and hairdryers available for your use.
The master bedroom also has an en-suite shower room.

Not only is the house beautifully finished, but there is also a large fully-enclosed garden surrounding the property. Guests can enjoy the outdoor seating area to the rear of the cottage, which is the perfect place to relax with a morning coffee. This fully-enclosed garden also makes it the perfect place for any children or pets to burn off that last-minute energy before bed.


When travelling to Otago Cottage, we highly recommend researching your public transport routes or ensuring that you have access to a car.

Unfortunately, Brora does not have access to apps such as Lyft or Uber, and our only modes of public transport are Bus (Stagecoach), Train (Scotrail), and the occasional private hire Taxi company.

Can't help the weather ;)

The cottage is well situated for access and generally parking was available outside apart from once when parked up the street. Nicely furnished and modernised place with good extras such as the utility room for my golf stuff and the washer/dryer if needed. Tbh I was a bit surprised there was no pint of milk in the fridge on arrival, nor any toiletries in showers. I stopped taking my own as all recent properties have had those extras. But appreciate that I might just have been lucky and such items aren't standard. Tea/Coffee provided but no milk. It was very warm and comfortable and I was surprised that Storm Amy didn't keep me awake. The house is on the main road so just worth noting that tankers do rumble past in the early hours but I got used to it. And I knew it was likely anyway. There were only two wine glasses in the cupboard but I take my own anyway so no issues. The bushes outside the back door need cutting back otherwise it's easy to get wet legs going in and out of the side door. The beds are comfortable and the pillows good. But just to advise that they are advertised as kings but are in fact doubles. Just me so no issue really. Just those few things that prevented me giving it 5 stars. Would stay again though. Thanks
