We are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. We have been renting out our home for more than a year with great care and love, and until now we have consistently received very positive feedback from guests who especially appreciated the peace, charm and authenticity of the property. We even received an offer from one of the guests to buy the house. We would, however, like to clarify a few points. The house was thoroughly cleaned and checked before your arrival. There is absolutely no mold in the bedrooms. We also do not recognize the smell described in the review; as always our cleaning lady had carefully prepared the house shortly before your arrival and confirmed everything was clean and fresh. In addition, we exceptionally allowed you to check in at 10 a.m., while the normal check-in time is 4 p.m., in order to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Upon arrival, complimentary water and coffee were also provided as a welcome gift. Regarding the water: we clearly communicate in advance that tap water in this region is not intended for drinking, although it is perfectly suitable for cooking. This is quite common in several parts of Southern Italy. The water system operates with an automatic pump, as is often the case in rural homes in Puglia. It may occasionally activate briefly, but previous guests have never experienced this as disturbing. The comment about doors sticking slightly is unrelated to humidity issues; they were recently painted. We do acknowledge the remark regarding some insect screens, and we intend to replace them as soon as possible. We regret that communication during the stay felt difficult, despite our efforts to be helpful and flexible-both personally and through our local assistant, who also made a special effort to help during your stay. We were also disappointed to find that the house was not left with the same level of care and respect with which it was offered. Of course, we understand that guests may have different expectations, but we feel this review does not accurately reflect the reality of the property or the experience that all of our previous guests have had with us.
