GETTING AROUND

The location of \"Valli\" makes it easy to explore the surroundings. For those who prefer to use public transport, there is a bus stop nearby. Bus tickets can be purchased on the bus (cash only) or at other authorized points. Please note that bus services are not very frequent and end around ten in the evening. Taxi services are also available but not always easily accessible in the area. From Como, it is easy to travel by train to Milan and Switzerland (Lugano, Bellinzona, Locarno). There are also public ferries departing from Como\'s central pier to other towns along the lake. The nearest airports are Milan Malpensa, Milan Linate, and Orio Al Serio in Bergamo. Shuttle services to and from the airports can be easily arranged at an additional cost. TIPS

To get around and walk along Lake Como, especially in the small towns, it is necessary to wear comfortable shoes.

There are many public drinking fountains in the area, and the water is safe to drink unless otherwise indicated. Tap water is also drinkable. You can bring your refillable bottle!

If you are looking for a relatively easy hike in the area and still want to enjoy mountain views, the Greenway of Lake Como is an easy-to-follow path that connects the lake towns from Colonno to Griante and passes through Tremezzo. Look for signs for the Greenway in the area.

In Italy, many shops (especially small ones) and services are closed in the middle of the day, so plan your purchases accordingly.

Lake Como is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and the deepest in Italy. Swimming and diving are prohibited in many areas and can be dangerous. For those who wish to swim, however, there are some options. Nearby, there are the Lido di Ossuccio and the Lido di Lenno. In other small towns, there are more beaches and lakeside bars. The Lido di Bellagio and the pebbly beach of San Giovanni await those who want to travel and explore the beautiful town of Bellagio. Locals and visitors also love to go to Nesso, where the bravest swimmers can dive into the lake from the ancient Roman bridge near the waterfall.

Lake Como is located in a mountainous region. The surrounding Prealps do not seem very high, but the climate is still influenced by the nearby mountains, and temperatures can change quickly. Pay particular attention to the weather conditions during hikes and bring warm and waterproof clothing!
