The Anchorage is a spacious 4-bedroom holiday cottage at Church Bay in the northwest corner of Anglesey. Located within the grounds of the well-known Lobster Pot restaurant and very close to the Anglesey coastal footpath and the blue flag beach at Church Bay, it’s a great base for a wonderful seaside holiday.

The Anchorage is a bright and spacious holiday home that is well equipped for groups of family and friends to use as a great base from which to explore the many attractions of this lovely part of Anglesey. There are great beaches nearby, a wide range of water sporting options, terrific walks, good restaurants and terrific birdwatching.

The Local Area
The Anchorage is a great base from which to explore the Anglesey coastal footpath. The wonderful Cemlyn Nature Reserve which abounds in birds and other wildlife is just a short drive away. Church Bay (Porth Swtan) is just one of several small bays across the north coast of Anglesey, and a trip to Cemaes Bay for an afternoon on the beach and paddleboarding is one of the many options. Copper Kingdom is a short drive away where you can explore the copper mountains and their array of colours. Llynnon Mill, one of the last working windmills in Wales, is a must-see visit, especially to enjoy their famous Mon Donuts.

Birthday Weekend

I stayed at The Anchorage with my family for my 60th birthday and it was perfect. The cottage was spotless and so comfortable, so much so that I did not want to leave ! We had a wonderful weekend, the location is stunning,we so enjoyed the 2 minute walk to the beach! I would definitely recommend The Anchorage it is perfect for a family gathering and I would not hesitate to book again. Wonderful memories were made here !

Excellent family stay

Never disappointed by the anchorage, comfortable, homely and clean. Location is perfect - just a short walk to the beach and a lovely front garden to chill in. We’ll be back next year!

The anchorage

This is the 4 time we have stayed at the anchorage.it a great house very close to the beach in a quiet location.the house has almost everything we need. The only problem is the oven isn’t very good.there is a warehouse at the back of the house which is not a problem.will be going back next year.

Wonderful House in Magical location

We had the best time, the house is fully equipped with all that our family needed for a fantastic holiday. The house is very spacious and the layout suits big families or groups. The location is just so convenient to the beach and great places to eat, we hardly cooked at all with the local offerings, and we still didnt get to try the pizzas at the wavecrest cafe sadly. Would throughly reccomend this property, very clean and well set up for families and big groups. The beds were comfy and surprisingly, the pillows were also, so i didnt even need my own that i brought with me :) Thank you for an amazing holiday, we will definitely be back!! Oh the little treats in wine, milk, biscuits etc and hand written note were really appreciated also and helped make it special. Providing foil kitchen roll tea, coffee,sugar etc was a lovely touch also as meant we could just get straight to the beach and not have to shop as soon as we got to the house which adds value to families.

Was 5mins away dogs and kids loved it great walks . Commendation perfect in every way , love the wellie porch great for cleaning the dogs and leaving our wet muddy footwear . Had a wonderful stay

Perfect family get together venie

Celebrating turning fifty with my sister and brother, we stayed for a week with her son and daughter (also celebrating turning 30!), my husband (celebrating a birthday too!) and a friend (another twin, celebrating 40, but without her womb-sharer!) and from the moment we entered the chorus of "this place is gorgeous/perfect/fantastic" was being echoed by everyone. Fabulous dining area where we spent most evenings playing card and board games, laughing, catching up, eating and drinking - it was easily the center of our "at home" life, exactly as a kitchen to dining area should be. The comfortable lounge area where we could easily connect up various computers and games consoles for gaming was spacious enough that we could all get involved too, and everything being open plan meant that even if we split as a group into two different activities, we were still all communicating as a full family group and making the most of those moments where we finally all get together, a sibling event that seems to be rarer as we get older. Meals out were easy to find, with plenty of eating places within short driving distance, and literally on our doorstep "The Lobster Pot" where we had booked for our main celebration meal. Despite it being a little short of the real tourist season, places were opening up and starting to get themselves ready for the Summer, so we managed to experience most of what was on offer in the area, from the walks, to the activities and the adventure days. Topping off with the amazing local eateries, again, many just warming up for the real season, we had a fabulous time. The home itself proved to be perfect for the seven of us, well equipped, warm when needed (rarely, we were very lucky with the weather) and easy to air out when over-warm. The kitchen, once we figured out the oven (seriously, seven adults scratching their heads trying to figure out an oven none of us had come across was hilariously embarrassing!), was equipped with the tools, pots, pans, baking sheets etc that we needed for any meal we cared to make, and easily accommodated full cooked breakfasts for seven most mornings. All in, we would happily recommend The Anchorage at Church Bay to anyone looking for a slightly larger family/friend getaway.

Another brilliant week at The Anchorage

We have been staying at the Anchorage for around fifteen years. It's the perfect let for a large family getaway very near the beach with a restaurant next door. The accomodation is spotlessly clean. We had a problem with the dishwasher. This was sorted within an hour! We've already booked for next year.
