Good location but needs some TLC
We stayed here for 2 nights. No complaints about the location, which was about 0.4 miles from the San Marco area and a 3-4 minute walk to the F.te Nove water ferry stop. If you plan to walk from the train station it’s just under a 30 minute walk with multiple stairways/bridges. The communication and check in process were good as well. The apartment itself could use some work. The stairway up to the apartment smells like the sewer and it’s cramped with what looks like extra storage from the neighbor. Inside the apartment, multiple of the kitchen cabinet doors are broken. The bathroom is super dark and tight, especially the shower (think of showering in a phone booth). Plus, the shower curtain wasn’t long enough leaving about a 3 inch gap at the bottom with the other side also leaking which required putting towels down on the floor to avoid walking through wet floor. The bidet wasn’t attached securely to the floor and would tip if you shifted your weight to one side or the other. The beds weren’t comfortable, felt like old spring mattresses. Finally, the WiFi didn’t work the entire time. The network listed in the instructions didn’t even exist. This was a problem because cellphone service is poor in any building in Venice so trying to make plans or reservations while at the apartment was extremely difficult.
