Casa Ocaso is the perfect house for you to enjoy the beauty of San Cristobal with friends or family. This beautiful 4 bed 4 bath home is located in the buzzing barrio of Guadalupe within walking distance of the most popular streets, restaurants, coffee shops, local bakeries and stores. Enjoy spectacular panoramic views and sunsets from our dreamy rooftop terrace or anywhere you are inside the house. Feel at home with comfy beds, a hot shower, cozy living room, good wifi and plenty of spaces to relax!
Built on one of the highest points of San Cristobal’s historic center, Casa Ocaso has one of the best spots to enjoy the views of town, mountains and sunsets. When remodeling our house we were careful to keep a balance between functional and beautiful. Taking care of textures, materials, plants, and lots of light. We kept the original materials of the house, like adobe, brick and stone… we used old doors, vintage furniture, lamps and antiques to keep the history of the house, making it feel like a home. We love architecture and traveling and that is what inspired every detail of Casa Ocaso. Enjoy open areas and stunning views from every single room.
The house has three levels. On the first floor there is an open plan dining room, kitchen and pool table. There is also a full bathroom and two bedrooms, each with their balcony with panoramic view and en-suite bathrooms.
On the second floor you can find the master bed room with view of the old Church of Guadalupe, work desk, sink and with an outside bathroom. The third bedroom, which we call Cuarto Galería is full of windows, antique Spanish floors, lots of light and views. The living/tv room with super comfy couch is on this floor as well and is a perfect place to rest at the end of the day.
Lastly, when you make your way to the third floor you can find our favorite spot: the terrace! Full of plants, you feel like you’re flying because it’s the highest point of San Cristobal. Enjoy the unique panoramic views and magnificent sunsets from here, with a yummy morning coffee or a glass of wine under the stars. This area has floor to ceiling glass doors so you can enjoy it even when it gets chilly or rainy. In this closed part of the terrace, you can find the second kitchen, perfect to cook a delicious meal with family or friends, a breakfast bar table, a day bed/ lounge area, and washer and dryer.

We are a Mexican-French family who loves to travel, explore nature, and enjoy life’s simple, beautiful moments. We spend our time between Mexico and France, and San Cristóbal holds a very special place in our hearts. When we began restoring Casa Ocaso, we imagined it as a place to host and gather with our friends and family when visiting us—somewhere warm, welcoming, and full of character. At the same time, we wanted it to offer plenty of quiet corners and private spaces to relax, unwind, and take in the views. Hosting allows us to share this space with fellow travelers who are curious to experience the magic of San Cristóbal. We hope you feel at home here.

Barrio de Guadalupe is one of our favorite corners of San Cristóbal—colorful, lively, and full of local charm. It’s home to a mix of artists, local families, and travelers, and there’s a real sense of community in the streets. We love being just a short walk from the city’s most popular cafés, restaurants, and shops, while still enjoying the quiet, residential feel of the neighborhood.
We originally chose this house for its incredible views—Casa Ocaso is located at one of the highest points still considered part of the historic center. That means a few stairs to climb if arriving on foot, or just a quick and affordable taxi ride from anywhere in the downtown area. The reward? Stunning panoramic views and peaceful sunsets that make it more than worth it.
What we also love about this area is the perfect blend of local and central—you’ll find neighborhood fruit stands, small mercados, and family-run eateries just steps away, while still being minutes from San Cristóbal’s main tourist attractions. It truly offers the best of both worlds.
