The church of St Ruthen dates back to the 1500s, originally built as a chapel to the parish church at Pontesbury. With ties to medieval origins, it is home to a war memorial and is the resting place of two World War II soldiers. Shrewsbury market town is a short car ride away, a historic medieval settlement with the gorgeous River Severn flowing through, boasting attractions including Attingham Park, Shrewsbury Historic Church Trail, Shrewsbury Castle, and Ironbridge Gorge.
