Known as the Walking Centre of Devon, Okehampton offers direct access to Dartmoor's rugged moorland, wild tors, ancient oak woodlands, and a variety of scenic walking routes including the Granite Way, Two Castles Trail, and the West Devon Way. Visitors can hire bikes in town to enjoy the picturesque 11-mile Granite Way ride, which passes by Meldon Reservoir and historic viaducts, offering stunning views of the moorland landscape.
