Perfect Dog Friendly Cottage

The cottage is perfect and very comfortable. Everything is brilliantly set up for dogs. The location is spot on and there are some amazing walks from the door of the cottage.

Very dog friendly cottage

First time staying at this lovely cottage and with booking with East Ruston Cottages. Small village but ideal for lots of dog walks which our Border Terrier loved. The Crown pub serves good value and variety of food so worth visiting during your stay. Had a lovely walk from Overstrand to Cromer along the cliff top by the golf course. The cottage had everything we needed for our short break and the welcome basket was also very much appreciated. It was so nice that our dog was very much included as many cottages are ‘dog friendly’ but with so many restrictions. We would definitely book cottage again or even another one featured on the website.

A perfect place to stay .

Fabulous cottage , cosy , clean ,comfortable and well equipped . Welcome basket was amazing and much appreciated . The large smart tv was a great addition too . Trunch is a lovely village , country walks from the cottage and a short drive to the beach . A very dog friendly cottage to which we will definitely return .

A relaxing few days in Trunch

1 Paynes Cottage is delightful. It has been sensitively renovated retaining its original features combining with modern living . The welcome hamper was greatly appreciated as were the safe areas where our dog ‘Bertie’ could romp. The cottage had everything we needed during our five night stay although the Broadband/Wifi connection is very slow. The local pub, the Crown inn, was also very welcoming and produced well priced suppers with huge portions!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay Thank you

A lovely week away

A very comfortable stay at 1 Paynes Cottage. Very clean and tidy inside and out, with comfy sofas, and king size bed which is very important. The large TV was welcome in the evenings and made a change to the small ones you usually get. The fridge freezer wasn’t huge so you would struggle with a full week’s shopping, but luckily we just took enough food for a couple of days. The internet was extremely slow so that was a little frustrating but apart from that we had a lovely week here.

everything we needed - and more

ERC as a company are fantastic, their attention to detail in their listings, their booking and even an app for that specific properties details. It's like nothing I've come across in all my years of booking UK breaks. The cottage - fantastic - that sums it up. Absolutely nothing we could find fault with to be honest. It had comfy sofas, bed was decent, well equipped kitchen and the WiFi was perfect (a rare treat!) The welcome hamper of yummy stuff was a lovely unexpected addition, with all Norfolk based goodies inside (including for the dog) As for the dog friendliness - 5 Paws! The garden was plenty secure enough for our dog (she's not a jumper so the lower fence/gate at the end wasn't a problem) meaning we didn't have to worry about putting a lead on for toilet breaks or having to keep the door closed. Dogs allowed throughout meant we could truly relax without having to follow silly rules that you only find out about when you get there. Supplying sofa throws (and letting us know in advance) meant we could bring less stuff. There were plenty of bowls, poo bags and even beds, blankets and crates provided should you need them. Location - if you want easy walking access for shops etc, you are out of luck but what you do get is a lovely quiet village with a decent pub (food) and nice locals and just 8-10 minutes drive down the road you get to Mundesley where the beach is great, there's a few local amenities and a fab bakery. Within half hour drive, there are soooo many dog friendly places to visit, it is so well placed. National Trust sites, beaches galore, seals to see and plenty of other things to do. We will absolutely be looking to book with ERC and very likely 1 Paynes Cottage in future!

Our dog likes the coast

Excellent stay very dog friendly with nice morning and evening dog walks straight from the door. Pleasant neighbour was helpful when we got a flat tyre Would prefer somewhere nearer to the coast but we were aware of this when we booked. The property would suite most people. Pub 5 minutes walk North Walsham is 8 - 10 minutes drive for shops which is very convenient.

Post heatwave short break

We had a lovely stay in a very well-equipped and extremely dog friendly cottage.My only grumble os that the second bedroom is too small for two full sized neds and not suitable for two adults.

One Paynes Cottage

This cottage was home from home for myself and my 2 Bichon Frise dogs, I spent 2 weeks here and found it to be ideal. From the moment I first walked through the door I knew I had made the right choice. From the cleanliness, to the comfort, to the welcome hamper it was perfect. The owners Alex and Adrian looked after me exceptionally, I cannot thank them enough. As I have friends in the area, the location is spot on too, and I will definitely be staying here again.
