Retaining many of its original features, this cottage is bursting with character from the exposed beams which line the walls to the colourful decor found throughout. In the village of Bramfield you’ll find plenty of options for a leisurely stroll, with the remains of Bramfield Castle worth visiting before stopping off at the independent village pub for a delicious meal.


Offering a calming space to relax, the living room is decorated in pastel tones with two armchairs and a sofa and paired with a wood burner for the cooler months of the year. The dining area is an uplifting and cosy space with comfortable seating, an exposed brick fireplace and a fantastic bright yellow feature colour interspersed between the beams. In contrast, the kitchen has a sleek feel with modern white cabinets and a large window allowing natural light to fill the room. From the dining room, a ladder takes you to the Minstrels’ gallery which is furnished with a desk where you could read a book in peace. The final room on the ground floor is the wet room with shower and WC. Upstairs, the first bedroom has a sumptuous king-size bed set amongst a vaulted ceiling where you’re sure to get a good night’s rest. Next door is a double bedroom which completes the sleeping arrangements. Outside, the enclosed courtyard is a great place for al fresco dining, surrounded by mature trees for added privacy.


Ideally located for families who wish to spend time on the coast, the scenic setting of Southwold lies just 10 miles away where endless hours of fun can be had on the beach hut lined sands. For a change of scenery, take a trip to Dunwich Forest (9 miles) to wander through the ancient woodland and follow the river out to sea. Avid walkers could embrace the opportunity to walk a section of the Suffolk Coast Path (9 miles), a wonderful way to get to know the local landscapes.
