The cottage is ideally located for exploring 1066 Country, including the historic Bodiam Castle (12 miles). The beautiful village of Frittenden (2 miles) has a local pub hosting live music and festivals and has an Italian pizza van that comes every Sunday evening. Nearby, Lime Wharf Café in Northiam offers scenic outdoor seating and is next to Bodiam Boating Station, where you can kayak or take a boat trip to Rye or around the castle. Also close by is the award-winning Bedgebury Pinetum and Forest (10 miles), perfect for walking or cycling among beautiful gardens, lakes, and woodland trails, with a welcoming café to relax in afterwards. Meanwhile, Maidstone (10 miles), the largest town in Kent, boasts fantastic opportunities for shopping, with an eclectic mix of unique shops and high-street favourites and Royal Tunbridge Wells (18 miles) with museums, galleries, open-air cafes, independent boutiques, restaurants and bars which you can explore along with a range of music and food festivals as well as artisan markets and theatre shows, hosted throughout the year.
