This cosy, welcoming getaway sits in the lively little market town of Brampton, offering a pleasant mix of small-town charm and open-air adventure. This entire region boasts enchanting market towns full of delights to explore alongside the opportunities for outdoor adventure. Start your morning with a stroll to a local café and delve into the local shops (0.5 miles), before venturing into the countryside, where the woodland paths of Gelt Woods (3 miles) offer peaceful riverside walks and wildlife-spotting opportunities. For a change of pace, head to Talkin Tarn Country Park (2 miles) for a lap around the lake, a row on the water or a relaxed picnic with remarkable views. To stretch your legs further, the wide moorlands of the North Pennines (11 miles) and the dramatic scenery of the Lake District (21 miles) both make brilliant day trips. History lovers can explore Birdoswald Roman Fort (7 miles) for memorable views over Hadrian’s Wall.
