Nestled in 9 acres of shared grounds, this home is ideal for a small family or two couples and is just 2.5 miles from colourful Bude. Spend time on the town’s beach at Summerleaze, where you can swim in both the sea and the saltwater pool.

Let yourselves into your new home from home, slipping off your outerwear at the entrance. Head through to the kitchen/diner and sit down to enjoy one of the freshly baked scones from your welcome pack at the table. Warm up the Cornish pasties you have bought in Bude in here too or find everything you need to help you prepare a heartier meal. Once you have dined, wander through to the lounge for a relaxing evening. Find a good movie on the Smart TV, read your books or play a game. When you are ready to turn in for the night, head up to the bedrooms on the first floor. These include a welcoming king-size and a comfortable twin. The family bathroom, with both a bath and a shower, is also here. Watch the mist rise over the scenic countryside when you awake then head off for a long walk through the wooded grounds. There is private parking for one car.

Head to Crooklets Beach (2.5 miles), to follow a stretch of the South West Coast Path. Attempt the 3.5-mile section to beautiful Widemouth Bay, or spend time at the National Trust’s picturesque Sandymouth Bay, 3 miles away. Arrange a day out to historic Tintagel (20.5 miles), to explore the castle from the legends of King Arthur.
