This was our first experience booking with a Stayz apartment and not a regular hotel. The process was a bit more involved than a hotel, so factor that in: communication was with a couple of different partners/facilitators, we had to do an online ID check and were sent a list of room rules etc. so it was a bit daunting the first time. Key pick up instructions were sent via email and the collection was easy enough, although 600m from the hotel. Having said that, the room was so much CHEAPER than a regular hotel alternative. And it was beautiful. What a view! Stunning! Fireworks from our balcony night one! The location and facilities were wonderful. The only other minor compromise was cleanliness: it was like staying at a friend’s house after they’d done a good tidy, but not hotel room spotless. What mattered most was the sheets and towels were very clean, so was the fridge; but the floors were not as clean as hotel standard. This part is an accident I’m sure, but I stood on a sewing needle immediately after walking onto the lush bedroom carpet and it penetrated deep into my foot! I immediately pulled it out and quickly vacuumed all the floors in case the previous guest was a vision impaired sewing addict! I found a lot of sand under the floor rug and a few small popcorn/corn chip remnants that obviously weren’t ours, but luckily no other sewing needles! Accidents happen and the carpet was soft enough to have hidden this nasty prick from the view of the cleaners. Luckily my foot must’ve got pierced in the right spot as only a dot and a bruise came of it. I could still enjoy the short walk to Southbank and the museum, etc. Overall the unit was FABULOUS. I recommend it, but be aware you’ll have a bit extra communication and instruction to follow unlike a hotel and expect it clean where it counts, but not to perfection. Definitely use the pool and spa while there. They’re great too. I’d consider a holiday like this again if it meant I got beautiful room and location at a great price; but if price were on par with a nearby hotel, I’d take the easier option. Despite the prick, still a wonderful place and stay. And thank you for including little things like salt, pepper and oil in the unit. It’s something visitors always forget!
