Looks are deceiving.

Having rented properties in the same area of Key West for a number of years, this is the first time that I have been disappointed in a home. On the website the house is exactly what I wanted and the perfect location. While the inside of the house is “ok” (some issues - tear in the sofa, missing outlet cover), it is the outside that the house is very disappointing. Ther is NO sun in the yard. If you like leaves in the pool, you’re in for a treat. The pool gets cleaned once a week but an hour after being cleaned, the leaves are covering the pool. The bbq, which I had specifically inquired about was a rusted mess and unusable. The deck doesn’t need repair, it needs to be replaced. I did call the property manager with reference to the bbq and deck, and they replaced the bbq within a few days. They did agree that the deck was in extremely poor shape, but they have no control over that. Lastly, the house sleeps six people, yet there is no place for six people to sit. There are three stools to eat at the kitchen counter and a table for four outside. Six people? Not possible. It’s really a shame, the house has so much potential, it just needs to be maintained.

Casa Atlantic

We stayed at Casa Atlantic from mid-April to Mid-May 2025. The location was great, but we had several issues. Below are the pros and cons. Pros: The house itself had comfortable furniture and the bed in master was extremely comfortable. Negatives: Roaches galore! We contacted Vacasa immediately and they provided bug spray, but way more help was needed. One of our guests actually had a roach start crawling on her while sitting on the couch. We contacted Vacasa again and they sent out Orkin pest control who told us that they had treated the house 2 weeks prior for the first time, so this evidently was a known issue. Orkin had to come back the following week to spray again. We asked Vacasa to have someone deep clean the kitchen, but they never responded to multiple requests. We could not use dishes from the cabinets and had to handwash and clean everything prior to use. Even the dishwasher had roaches coming out it after running it. Outside: The outside could have been great, but again, bugs galore! And not just the expected bugs (like noseeums or mosquitos), but what we think were chiggers. We had three guests (at different times) had over 40-60 bites on their legs and torso from sitting on the deck with their feet in the pool. We think the chiggers are under the deck. My husband went to Ace for outdoor spray and sprayed multiple times, but it didn’t help. Now, I’m a Florida girl and realize that bugs are just part of nature, but this was in an entire other level. The roaches were the small German cockroaches. We almost left and went home, but knew we couldn’t get a refund. The saving grace was that the roaches were contained mostly to the kitchen area. No roaches were upstairs or else we absolutely would have left. Also, there was not any tupperware in the house. We didn’t cook often because of the roaches, but did use the grill and had no way to adequately store our food. We did ask Vacasa to provide some, but they never did. The master tub had an oil and black substance coming out of the pipes when I attempted to use it. Vacasa did have a plumber come the next day and fix the issue after contacting them and sending pics and videos. Overall, it was a very poor experience, especially considering the amount we paid to rent the house for the month. I absolutely would not stay here again.

Beautiful home

Do not hesitate to rent this beautiful home in a lovely , quiet location . So enjoyed the outdoor spaces, including the porches and heated pool. My guests loved the available bikes. Thank you !

We loved it!😎

We were there for one month and we loved it. Here are the positives: house very clean and well-equipped (kitchen had everything we needed and then some); loved the layout (3 bedrooms and 3 baths); pool temperature just right (pool guy showed us how to adjust if necessary); plenty of beach towels; new BBQ grill; 2 bikes which was a very nice extra; motion sensor lights in long, dark stair well which addressed a potential safety issue; management very responsive and fixed minor issues (internet down; burned out bulbs and pool cleaning). Minor quibbles: first level very dark (needed lights on all day); some of the bed sheets tired and worn; need to add a contact number to instructions to make it easier to reach management when necessary.

WARNING - IF YOU WANT A RELAXING VACATION DO NOT BOOK HERE

nothing but problems from the moment we arrived - the home itself is fine, the property management local office is not doing their jobs. 1. no internet service for multiple days with an incredibly slow response time for local office 2. construction across the street that was not disclosed. 3. we almost got our cars towed as the leasing company gave us 1 hour notice to move our cars as well as bad instructions on where to move them, when we inquired further, they said they would get back to us and never called back. 4. pool flooded, called to let the property manager know, no one ever came out and the neighbors had to help us shut off the water to prevent it flooding their yard. 5. no communication for services, a random man showed up saying he was pest control and got confrontational when I would not allow a stranger in, the property management company gave me 0 warning that someone would be showing up and created an unpleasant confrontation, 6. scheduled internet service appointment literally on thanksgiving day with no input from us - no one wants to deal with a comcast guy on a holiday. 7. total ghosting when it comes to resolving any of these issues after we had checked out and during the visit, it was a full time job to check in and figure out what was going on, the stress from dealing with these individuals completely ruined my vacation.

Well stocked home

We were pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen was so well stocked, hair dryers in every bath, 2 irons, ironing board, floats, beach chairs and even some older bikes. The home furniture is showing wear, but it is comfortable and cozy for about 6 people. Mattresses on beds are very good. I had a few issues that I called about and the customer service was great. They resolved the issues. One was a bad thermostat that was replaced. Another was an outdoor bug issue and they sent Orkin to spray. The negatives were things dealing with nature. There are several trees for shade and privacy around the pool. Therefore, debris from the trees fall into the pool. A pool person comes once a week, but daily you have to clean out the debris. Second, iguanas climb in the trees and love to poop around the pool and into the pool. The first time this happened, I called and someone call out to the house. He cleaned up the mess, left a bottle of disinfectant with us, and told us the pool guy would be there the next day. It happened about every other day, so I went out every morning to check for iguana poop when I cleaned out debris from the pool. These are the reasons for 4 stars, not 5.

Looks can be deceiving

I have been renting vacation houses in Key West for a number of years. This has been the first home that I was disappointed in. The inside of the house was ok - although I was a little confused on how a house that sleeps six people, doesn’t have any place (inside or out) to seat six people for meals. There were other minor issues, but nothing terrible (missing outlet cover, hole in the sofa) Outside is a different story. The deck area is in desperate need of replacing; with certain sections completely rotted. The bbq, that I had specifically requested, was completely rusted out. The property manager did have one ordered to replace it, but it was disappointing to have it arrive more than half way through our trip, particularly since I had inquired about it before we arrived. There is NO sun in the backyard. The vegetation is overgrown and is in desperate need of trimming, which causes the pool to turn into a constant dropping area for the leaves that constantly fall into it. A half hour after the pool gets cleaned, it is covered (and I do mean covered!) in leaves. All of this is simple maintenance. The house is in a great location, and the house could be amazing, but you need to maintain it. I’m not a picky person, but it was disappointing to expect one thing and receive something entirely different.

Amazing!

We stayed here for a month to escape Corona and give ourselves a change of scenery and a pool for the kids since summery camps by us were closed. The house is in amazing condition and is completely stocked with everything you could need. We basically stayed to the house and loved that it was walking distance to Higgs Beach and in a residential area avoiding some of the tourism chaos. The kids swam in the pool every day and gave us a great experience for some summer fun. Would absolutely stay here again.

Fantastic home & location
