Birkbank Farm near Cockermouth, Cumbria, sleeps twelve guests in five bedrooms.
Birkbank Farm is set over three floors and consists of kitchen/diner with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and dining seating, a utility with washing machine, tumble dryer, a dining room with additional seating, a sitting room with TV and woodburning stove and a games room with pool table, dartsboard and woodburning stove. The bedrooms, each with its own TV consist of a family room with double bed and adjoining twin, a second-floor king-size bedroom with en-suite bath, shower over, basin and WC, two further king-size bedrooms with en-suite walk-in showers, basins and WCs, and a double bedroom with en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC, serviced by a second-floor bathroom with freestanding bath, basin and WC. Outside there is a garden with lawn, stream and off-road parking for 4 cars. Within 3.6 miles, you will find a shop, within 2.1, a pub, and 1.2 miles a river. Please note that this is a non-smoking property. Four well-behaved pets allowe. WiFi, fuel, power, and bed linen are all included in the price. After a day out exploring the beauty of Lake District National Park, throw a log on the woodburning stoves at Birkbank Farm. The town is famous as the birthplace of both William Wordsworth and Fletcher Christian (of Mutiny on the Bounty fame) and Wordsworth’s Georgian family home, on the main street, is now a popular visitor attraction, owned by the National Trust. Cockermouth offers a good variety of shops, pubs and places to eat, but (of course) the main attraction of the area is the beautiful scenery and excellent walking in the northern lakes – Bassenthwaite Lake, Ennerdale Water and Derwent Water.
