Not easy to find but worth it

Maurizio can however meet you at an easy. To find place and take you to the property. The villa is beautifully clean and convenient for the beach. Maurizio was very helpful and the whole process from booking to checkout was very easy and efficient. If we were in the area again we would stay here.

Schoenes Haus, super nette Vermieter

Schoenes, sauberes und gut eingerichtetes Haus. Hat alles was man braucht und mehr. Die Vermieter sind aeusserst nett und hilfsbereit, wohnen in Palermo sind aber jederzeit erreichbar falls man je ein Problem haben sollte. Der kurze Weg zum grossen Sandstrand ist eine steile Strasse die aber ueberhaupt kein Problem ist. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und können das Haus jedem empfehlen der Ruhe geniessen will ohne auf den Komfort zu verzichten.

Einer unserer schönsten Urlaube

Das Haus ist toll gelegen, mit einer wunderschönen Aussicht auf das Meer. Die ruhige Lage hat uns begeistert. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut, alles war tip top. Maurizio und seine Mutter haben uns sehr herzlich und freundlich empfangen - mille grazie. Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen und können das Haus und den Vermieter nur wärmstens empfehlen.

This lovely holiday house is just a stone's throw away from the beach. The sandy coast is not at all crowded and with its shallow water perfect for the kids. The hole communication and handing over process was without any problems. The owner family uses the upper floor itself as a holiday residents. This is not least one reason why the property is very well maintained. We can fully recommend this accommodation and will come back!

Das Haus war sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Aussicht ist wunderbar und das Haus liegt, wie beschrieben, in ruhiger Lage direkt am Meer und in der Nachbarschaft befinden sich nur ca. 6 Häuser. Die Zufahrt zum Haus erfolgt über eine nicht asphaltierte Straße. Man geht ca. 150 Meter den Berg ab und gelangt an den goldenen Sandstrand. Dort befindet sich ein Fischrestaurant. Supermärkte und kleinere Lebensmittelgeschäfte sind im ca. 5 min entfernten Menfi ausreichend vorhanden. Maurizio und seine Mutter sind sehr freundlich und auch hilfsbereit. Viele Dank an euch zwei. The house was clean and very well equipped. The view is wonderful and the house is , as described , in a quiet location on the seafront and in the neighborhood there are only 6 houses . Access to the house is via a not paved road . It is about 150 meters to reach the golden sandy beach. There is a seafood restaurant. Supermarkets and other smaller food shops are sufficient in approximately 5 min away Menfi. Maurizio and his mother are very friendly and helpful too. Many thanks to you two .

Wunderschöner Urlaub

Schönes Haus in ruhiger Lage. Es liegt fast unmittelbar am Meer und die Aussicht ist sehr schön. Das Haus war sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und wirklich hilfsbereit. Die nicht asphaltierte Zufahrt führt zu einer kleinen Straße mit wenigen Häusern. In dieser Straße ist es sehr ruhig und den Strand hatten wir ebenfalls für uns alleine. Supermärkte und kleinere Lebensmittelgeschäfte sind ausreichend im ca. 5 min entfernten Menfi vorhanden. Nice house in a quiet location . It lies almost directly on the sea and the view is very nice . The house was clean and very well equipped. The owner is very nice and really helpful . The not paved access road leads to a small road with few houses . In this street it is very quiet and the beach , we had also to ourselves. Supermarkets and other smaller food shops are sufficient in about 5 minutes away Menfi available .

Very Pleasant Stay

We stayed here for 5 nights and it was certainly one of the best parts of our vacation to Sicily. The views are stunning and the accommodations more than adequate. When we return to Sicily we will return here.

Magnifique villa dans une mer de tranquillité!

Appartement propre et confortable avec vue panoramique sur les montagnes et la mer, grande terrasse qui permet de profiter du paysage. De très belles plages aux alentours accessibles à pied. À 10mn de la charmante ville de Menfi, véhicule indispensable. Nous avons choisi cette façon de voyager surtout parce qu’elle nous permet de mieux connaître les gens, de se faire des amis et aussi parce que c’est plus économique. Merci à Mauricio pour son accueil chaleureux. Nous la remercions de nous avoir permis de passer un excellent séjour. Grazie mille!"

A perfect location and a beautiful setting

The very friendly and welcoming owners did all they could to provide us with information and support when necessary. The villa, in a great setting, was well equipped and handily situated as a base for touring. The garden, overlooking the Mediterranean was full of lovely flowering shrubs (e.g. hibiscus, oleander and bougainvillaea) providing a relaxing and peaceful spot for doing nothing. The outdoor spaces had both shade and sun, ideal for eating al fresco. The house was clean and comfortable with a wonderful view of the sea which was only a five minute walk away, The sandy beach was clean, the sea crystal clear and safe to swim in. . Nearby restaurants in Portopalo provided good and reasonably priced food. The villa was well-placed for access to the small town of Menfi for groceries,sightseeing in Selinunte and further afield e.g. Segesta and Palermo. Car essential.

Urlaub und Haus wunderschön!

Wir haben als vierköpfige Familie einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt für drei Wochen in dieser Ferienwohnung gehabt. Das Haus ist wunderschön, fast noch schöner als abgebildet, liegt nahe an einem feinsandigen und nicht überfüllten, am Schluß fast leeren Strand. Die Vermieter waren sehr nett, die Schlüsselübergabe hat bestens funktioniert. Wir durften alle Strandutensilien wie z.B. Sonnenschirme, Strandstühle, Eimer, Schaufeln und Schwimmbrett benutzen. Da die Vermieter selbst dort Urlaub machen, ist das Haus perfekt ausgestattet. Der Außenbereich mit Blick auf das Meer und tollen Pflanzen ist wunderschön. Wir haben von dort aus viel von der Insel gesehen, lediglich auf unserer Tour in den auch sehr sehenswerten Westen haben wir noch eine B&B-Unterkunft extra genommen. Restaurants gibt es auch zur Genüge, u.a. ein sehr gutes Fischrestaurant ganz in der Nähe. Mille Grazie an Maurizio und Familie

Immaculate property, great, quiet location

We came with two children aged 12 and 10. Maurizio and his Mother met us as arranged, they are both very charming and welcoming hosts. The house is set on a private lane so very quiet and literally 2 minutes down to the beach. The house is very clean, tidy and well equipped. Exactly as described on the web site. Lovely garden in which to relax. Nice walks along the beach in both directions. children very happy playing in the sea and the dunes. Vittorios fish restaurant is very good and walkable from the house - very generous portions! All in all an excellent property. thansks Maurizio.

Sehr schönes Haus, ganz in der Nähe von einem sauberen, kilometerlangen Sandstrand. Alles wie beschrieben. Netter, hilfsbereiter Besitzer, Maurizio, der uns Verspätete gegen Mitternacht erwartet hat, um anschließend den einstündigen Weg nach Palermo zurückzufahren (Danke). Super mit Kindern, da viel Platz auf dem Gelände . Sehr zu empfehlen! Kommen gerne wieder. Very nice house, near by foot to a clean long sand-beach. Everything as described. Kind, helpful owner, Maurizio. Very good with children, a lot of place around the house. Recommend utterly. Would enjoy to return. Thank you!

Overlooking Portopalo beach

We had stayed one night in Portopalo on a short visit last October and were taken with the rugged coast and the superb restaurant, Da Vittorio’s on the beach, so we specifically wanted a villa early this May in this area. We were not disappointed. This villa is very secure with fencing and gates on a hidden private road. It is surrounded with a lovely garden, flowers, butterflies and birds, has a large terrace with sea views and seating and is clean and very spacious inside with two bedrooms, a good sized modern kitchen, living room and bathroom. 150m down a steepish private road to the natural beach and dunes complete with lovely marine vegetation, and also well hidden off the main Portopalo-Menfi road. In early May Portopalo itself is a very sleepy village with very little open, but with Da Vittorio’s in sight, we were in heaven. The beach was virtually empty all week Easy access for Selinunte, Marzara sur Vallo, Sciacca and Agrigento and right in the heart of a good wine area. We shall be returning.

Wonderful Holiday

My Mother and I stayed here for a wk in September. We had the downstairs apt, upstairs was empty so we had the entire property to ourselves and it was a beautiful place to stay. The weather apart from the first couple of rainy days was sunny with a lovely warm breeze and although we had every intention of heading out to visit Agrigento and Marsala, in the end it was just so relaxing at the apartment that apart from visiting Sciacca and Selinunte, we did very little. The beach is close, but down (and up) a pretty steep road, my Mother is in her seventies and managed well but it was also possible to drive the car halfway down which we did. The beach is amazing, wide golden expanse of sand with very few people around and the water, though cold, was the clearest i think i have ever experienced. There is a very good fish restaurant 2 minutes along the beach, Vittorio, where we ate twice and both times found it to be excellent food and good service and also quite reasonable, around 50 euros for the two of us for a good meal with wine, bread and water. We did not find anywhere much else open in Portopalo at this time of year, most places had shut for the season but you could easily head to Menfi which was a bit busier. Menfi also had a very good Penny supermarket just outside the town where you can stock up. It is handy to know that most shops do shut for siesta betwen 1400 and 1530 hrs so bear that in mind. We also had a very handy and well stocked small minimarket and adjoining fruit and veg stall just along the main road from the apt towards Portopalo. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful and you could find most basic requirements here including a good bottle of wine, bread and a deli counter. The apartment itself was light, airy, clean and had everything you could need. The kitchen is well stocked with all utensils, there is a washing machine and full cooker. The outside space and gardens are just beautiful, the plants are well established and healthy and the whole area has been really well built and finished beautifully. There is a barbecue area, a large covered dining area, space for numerous cars if needed, and the terrace has table, chairs, deck chairs and an amazing view over the bay. It is easy to find shade as the terrace has the overhang from the upstairs apt so my Mum could sit in the shade whilst i sunbathed on one of the many long cushions to be found around the property. I would highly recommend a stay here! Thankyou Maurizio and your Mum.

Relaxing seaside holiday

This is a great place for a relaxing seaside holiday. The house is in a fantastic location - on a little private road (6 or 7 houses) surrounded by open fields, which leads down to the sea. It is very peaceful - we saw maybe 3 cars drive past the whole week we were there. The house itself is simple but well equipped and immaculately clean, with wonderful views. We particularly liked the outdoor eating area - a beautiful big marble topped table under a pergola, with a pizza oven, barbecue and sink, surrounded by colourful raised flower beds. And the outdoor shower (with hot water) made it easy not to trail sand into the house when we came back from the beach. It is less than 5 minutes stroll down to the beach, which has fine white sand (perfect for sandcastles!) and was always uncrowded. On weekdays we sometimes almost had it to ourselves. It shelves gently into the sea, so is very safe for children. The sea was beautifully clear, and we saw shoals of tiny fish swimming around our legs, which delighted our boys. We were welcomed by Maurizio's mother, who was charming and very helpful and recommended some excellent local restaurants (our favourite was, conveniently, just 10 mins walk along the beach). This is a lovely area and the house is an ideal base for exploring it - the Greek temples at Selinunte are about 30 mins away, Agrigento is an easy day trip, and the local towns are full of interest. Such a great place!

The villa Cipolla ticked all our boxes - we wanted views, peace, sandy beaches, walking distance to some good restaurants, and to feel at home...and that is precisely what we got! This is a "lived in " , honest place. Extremely clean, and has everything you would need. But don't expect the Ritz cos that's not what it's about! Am ashamed to say that we did no sightseeing because we just loved relaxing by day on the terraces, and strolling along the beach to one of the nearby restaurants in the evening. I really hope to come back to this gorgeous place. Maurizio - thanks again to you and your Mum xx

Perfect Holidays in unbeatable environment

We spent a perfect holiday with our small children in the house. The house is fully equipped, the gated garden is very well kept, the view is perfect and for people who are interested in Greek culture it's the optimal location for sight seeing. The view from the house is so impressive that we often preferred to stay there instead of going the few meters to the empty beach. The supermarket is very well equipped and the restaurants of Portopalo are good and can be reached by foot. The owner was always ready to help us when we had any questions and he provided us with lots of information. Nomwishes were left. We are already planning our next holidays in the Villa as we don't remember to having spend so relaxing holidays..

Quiet and out of the way. Completely authentic.

We booked this house for our first visit to Sicily. We are a couple with two children aged 14 and 11. The description was accurate. The house was extremely well equipped and everything had been thought of. It was all clean and well organised. Maurizio and his mother made us so welcome and he even came to meet us at 1am in the local town to guide us to the house! The house is up an unmade road and it felt as though all the other houses were empty. It was extremely quiet. Every day we had the huge sandy beach completely to ourselves (only about 100m walk). Great for snorkelling. Beautiful countryside. Beware if you speak no Italian like us! Local minimarket well stocked. Good restaurants in Porto Palo-mainly pizza. Marsala is a beautiful town. I would thoroughly recommend this as a family holiday base, and we will be going back!

a unique and superbe view form every angle of the house in a amazing and superb mediterranean garden, totally calm and relaxing zone and a amazing sandy beach at 200 meters far :)
