Villa Silene is an authentic Croatian stone house with a private pool, set in the rolling hills of Istria. The villa accommodates up to eight guests with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, making it an ideal base for families or friends to explore the beaches, villages, vineyards, and culinary delights of Istria.



The Space:

This authentic Croatian stone house is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday in Istria. The 165 m² villa offers a private swimming pool, barbecue area, comfortable sun loungers, and a beautifully landscaped garden with several seating areas where guests can unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.



Inside, guests will find four comfortable bedrooms with queen-size beds and three full bathrooms, providing ample space and privacy for groups or families.

Villa Silene is designed as a welcoming hideaway for a carefree stay with family or friends. The open-plan living and dining area features a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy lounge space, ideal for spending time together after a day of exploring.



On the ground floor, one of the bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom is located. The first floor hosts the remaining three bedrooms and two bathrooms. All bedrooms, as well as the living room, are air-conditioned to ensure comfort even during the warm summer months.



Guest Access:

Private entrance and place for 2 cars on private parking lot next to the villa. One parking spot is covered.



The Neighborhood:

Villa Silene is located in the small and peaceful village of Barat, just a few minutes from the charming town of Višnjan in the heart of Istria. This area is known for its rolling hills, vineyards, olive groves, and authentic villages, offering a perfect balance between nature, culture, and the Adriatic coast. In nearby Višnjan you will find everything you need for your stay, including two supermarkets, a bakery, a butcher, a cozy coffee bar, and several local restaurants such as Restaurant Borgonija and Pizzeria Višnjan. It’s the perfect place to experience the relaxed rhythm of daily life in Istria.



For food and wine lovers, the region offers many local specialties. A visit to the nearby Ipsa winery and olive oil estate is highly recommended for tastings of excellent Istrian wines and olive oils. The local market (Tržnica) in Poreč is also worth a visit, where you can buy fresh fish, vegetables, honey, and other regional products in the morning. Active guests will find plenty to explore. A scenic mountain bike route (route 141) starts directly outside the villa, and there is also a peaceful 4 km walking route between Barat and Višnjan with very little traffic — perfect for a morning walk or an evening stroll.



Getting Around:

Within a short drive you can discover some of Istria’s most beautiful towns. The coastal town of Poreč, with its beaches, restaurants, and historic center, is just a short drive away. The famous hilltop town of Motovun offers stunning views over the Mirna valley, while Oprtalj has beautiful panoramic views over the Istrian countryside. Other highlights include the picturesque harbor town of Rovinj (40km) and the historic city of Pula (60km), known for its impressive Roman amphitheater. For families and adventure seekers, there are also plenty of activities nearby, including the Aquapark in Poreč and the Aquapark near Pula, as well as the famous zipline in Pazin for a truly unforgettable experience.



Other Things to Note:

Bed linen, towels, and pool towels are provided for your comfort. The villa features air conditioning in all bedrooms and the living room, Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, and an outdoor dining area for summer evenings. Dogs are not allowed,
