We are a local family, Jill and Henry, with family farming above Helmsley. Helmsley has always held a special place in our hearts. When the former NatWest bank, sitting unused for years and described as "a commercial slum," came up for auction, we felt compelled to transform this sad building into a proud, elegant structure in a key location of Helmsley. We purchased the property in 2019 and began a complete rebuild, investing heavily in quality materials and fittings. We worked with local craftsmen and businesses, which was very important to us. Internally, we sourced furnishings locally whenever possible, prioritising British-made items and upcycling where we could. All radiators are crafted by the renowned British company Eskimo, beds are from Harrison Spinks near Leeds, handmade wardrobes from George Gold in Pickering, and a stunning Italian chandelier from Bishop Auckland Castle’s throne room. Our aim was to create a luxurious home from home where guests can relax and escape the stresses of everyday life.
