Eastgate is a small village in Weardale, popular for walking and cycling. The village once marked the eastern boundary of Stanhope Park, the scene of many grand and historical hunting expeditions. Eastgate is set in rural countryside and is home to a pub and the delightful Horsley Hall which provides fine dining and afternoon tea. Further amenities can also be found in the village of Stanhope located just three miles away.
