Town: The quaint town of Walsingham lies in the charming county of Norfolk in East Anglia, surrounded by miles of unspoilt countryside. The town is steeped in history with a long line of religious pilgrimage and is home to the ruins of two medieval monastic houses and the Shirehall Museum, Walsingham's Georgian Courtroom where you can discover more of Walsingham’s amazing history since 1061. There is also a number of independent shops from antique and gift boutiques to farm shops selling local produce, plus a tea room and a traditional inn which serves food. Walsingham is also home to the Wells & Walsingham Light Railway, said to be the longest 10-and-a-quarter inch narrow-gauge steam railway in the world. The village is well worth a visit and ideally positioned near to some outstanding beaches.
